IPP - Small Projects Renewable Energy Convert South Africa is currently involved in submitting quotations to a number of South African and overseas contractors for the supply of its robust 1-axis tracker on a series of 5 MW photovoltaic projects, as part of the upcoming governmental tendering procedure dedicated to small IPP projects (see http://www.ipp-smallprojects.co.za/). Phase 1 of this process saw its first step completed recently, with the identification of about 200 shortlisted projects. The procedure foresees the attribution of a total of 100 MW of renewable energy amongst projects of a maximum of 5 MW. The use of Convert trackers as part of proposals prepared in response to this tendering procedure makes it possible for both developers and EPC contractors to increase forecast yield of their plants without impacting too much on project CAPEX, hence significantly enhancing the bottom line of associated financial models. The next step of the tendering process, aiming at selected the winners of this round of bids, is expected to be announced in November 2014.
