This year, we are also putting a stronger focus on our internationallyrecognized game shows, which we believe have the universal appeal and makings of the next big hit.”

Genres We have everything from FTV-ready romance and family dramas to exciting action and thriller series, both in long form and compressed 20-hour formats. We’re also building our non-scripted IP slate, adding in the recent winner from MIPFormats Pitch 2025: physical game show Save Your Cash to join our other awardwinning game show Everybody, Sing!.

Original production/ co-production Our new action series INCOGNITO – first seen on Netflix Philippines – has been at the top since its launch. It delves into the lives of seven disillusioned people who unite to engage in high-stakes missions. We pulled out all the stops for this drama, with the powerhouse cast training in martial arts, tactical combat and war games to properly portray the relevant expertise on screen – set against breathtaking shooting locations around Italy, Japan and of course, picturesque Philippines.

SAVING GRACE, our adaptation of Nippon TV’s Mother; launched on Prime Video months before TV release, the drama explores the complexities of motherhood when a school teacher whisks away an abused student in an effort to save her. Our version emphasizes strong familial and community ties central to Filipino culture. As a result, a rich, cross-cultural viewing experience awaits our international audiences.

The special 14-episode edit exclusive to the platform also topped the charts.

Our newest co-prod. with Viu, HOW TO SPOT A RED FLAG, just ended its run this February. The romcom follows a spunky barista torn between a quirky nice guy and a confident bad boy who are both catfishing her. Marking the two companies’ 2nd project together, the series touches on youth-oriented insights into topics like the “talking stage” and “ghosting”, while tackling real lessons on cheating and how genuine relationships blossom.

Supernatural horror feature film project HYSTERIA, winner of the ATF x EST N8 Horror Pitch 2024 in Singapore, tells the story of a self-righteous priest seeking to end a wave of demonic possessions in a town trapped in its own contradictory beliefs, only Trailer to uncover a dark past and his own role in the dreadful phenomenon. We are currently looking for co-producers for this latest IP.

• Movie: AR spearheads the Rocket Programme, a strategic movie co-development initiative uniting film companies from Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia. Supported by Taiwan Creative Six movies co-development collaboration Content Agency (TAICCA) and organised in partnership with MyStory Entertainment, the programme aims to drive six co-produced film projects from script stage through to market-ready pitches at TCCF 2025.

• Variety: AR and Taiwan’s TAICCA launched the LEAP Co-Development Programme: Variety Show, attracting 85 submissions and featuring eight top Korean producers. It concluded with a final pitch at ATF 2024 in Singapore. A regional co-production is set for 2025, with AR executive producing alongside Culinary Class War writer Mo Eun-seol.

• Pre-school animation: AR launched the All Star Pre-School Animated Series Creative and Co-Development Programme with Taiwan’s PTS XS to connect Korean and Taiwanese creators for co-productions. Two projects were selected and have entered development with leading Korean animation companies.

Micro Drama: Co-Production & Regional Distribution Over 150 micro dramas have launched across various platforms in the region to date, with several dedicated micro drama apps set to roll out on major telco shelves across Southeast Asia.

Half Man will be the iconic scripted show to watch out for in 2025. It is a six-episode drama series from the multi award-winning Richard Gadd (Baby Reindeer, Against the Law), who stars alongside BAFTA award-winning actor Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers, Rocket Man) with the pair playing estranged brothers. The series is produced by Mam Tor Productions (a Banijay UK company) for the BBC and BBC Scotland in co-production with HBO. Our factual slate is led by Tribe with Bruce Parry, in which TV, filmmaker and indigenous rights advocate Bruce Parry returns to TV after more than a decade. In this new three part series, he travels to visit extraordinary communities, diving deep into their traditional ways of Tribe with Bruce Parry life – including a rare glimpse of the world’s last megalithic culture, The Sumba in Indonesia. The series is produced by Frank Films for BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

In our format slate, AI Love You – created and produced by Banijay Nordic label Nordisk Film TV, Denmark for TV 2, seamlessly integrates the much talked about AI tech in a deeply emotional human scenario via a life affirming social experiment.

Trends & Outlook 2025 In 2025, we will witness media businesses looking at hybrid models to explore additional revenue streams. Shorter holdback windows for second screen rights will become the norm with key TV shows coming onto a third-party digital platform within hours of premier broadcasting. There is no doubt that there will be an increase in adopting AI across productions which will form an integral part of new format innovations.

Trends & Outlook 2025 2024 was a turbulent year for the TV industry, and it will be no surprise to see the same in 2025 with potentially more M&A and over-supply of content due to fewer buyers. We may see more co-productions as producers are de-risking investment by sharing rights among partners in different regions. Additional consolidation in the streaming sector is also possible, as the number of SVOD services in each country is expected to peak with some trying to stay afloat.”

Mad Unicorn from local producer GDH559 is part of a nine-title slate Thailand slate greenlit by Netflix in 2025. The series, directed by Nottapon Boonprakob, is about a reformed rural street thug who dives into the express delivery industry to challenge a business mogul who once betrayed him, and goes on to become Thailand’s first unicorn startup.

f some of the last few years’ exuberance about Thai content has dimmed, the current state of local production is eclipsed by an all-eyes-on Premier League situation in Thailand. More specifically, what Jasmine International (JAS) will do with the Premier League rights that it so deftly snatched from TrueVisions at the end of last year, and... what TrueVisions will do without them.

JAS paid US$560 million/THB19.2 billion for six Premier League seasons from 2025/26 to 2030/31 for Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, including live broadcasts, reruns and highlights. Shareholders approved the acquisition of the Premier League and FA Cup in January 2025, and at the same time greenlit distribution through Mono Next platforms.

By many accounts, True was caught off guard by a move that, it turns out, will give its biggest rival – Advanced Info Service (AIS) – exclusive access to the Premier League.

At the end of April, three months after the rights acquisition was finalised (and to the surprise of exactly no one

except maybe True), JAS announced its Premier League partnership with AIS PLAY. The following month, in May, JAS put out a document entitled “Changing the Game, Leading the Way”, and reported a stellar Q1 during which operating profit rose 152% to THB277 million/US$7.6 million from Q1 2024, while net profit attributable to the owners of the parent company reached THB176 million/US$4.8 million, up 604% from Q1 2024. The first Premier League-related revenue is expected to be recognised in Q3 2025.

JAS, AIS and Mono describe their collaboration as a “significant milestone” with the promise of “transforming the sports streaming landscape in Thailand”. JAS talks about targeting three million subscribers in year one, with an estimated THB10 billion/US$275 million revenue. Sports packages will be announced any minute; the season begins on 16 August.

Thailand pear, pinching pennies, filling schedules with re-runs wherever possible, focusing on fewer tentpoles, figuring out if movies and/or fan events may be the great saviour, turning the lights off when they leave the room and wondering what’s next other than more cuts... plus hoping that Netflix, Prime Video, Viu or iQiyi buy their shows.

With the odd spark here and there, boardrooms are gloom centres.

Mono Next, which has among other new ventures tied up with Major Join Film in a THB93 million/US$2.6 million joint venture to make movies, was doing best at the end of May, with a year-todate stock price drop of about 11%, according to Stock Exchange of Thailand data. The company has a market cap of approx US$189.5 million.

GMM Grammy’s stock price at the end of March was down 40% year to date (rising to a drop of 39.76% by the end of May). Q1 profit dropped 46.5% to THB104 million, although revenue was up just under 11%. This was driven by a 200% increase in movie revenue; two films, Flat Girls and The Red Envelope (a Thai remake of Taiwanese blockbuster Marry My Dead Body), generated approx THB70 million/US$1.93 million compared to no releases in Q1 last year.

Music revenue – which makes up most of Grammy’s business – was also way up, closing Q1 with more than 20% increase compared to the same quarter in 2024.

Home shopping was way down, and satellite TV was a bust. GMM Grammy’s market cap is approx US$140 million.

Behind GMM Grammy, with a market cap of approx US$130 million, BEC World’s share price is today exactly where it was at the beginning of the year, although a 0% change may under the current circumstances be the new cause for optimism.

At the same time at it reported a stellar Q1 2025 (helped by a one-time expense in Q1 2024), BEC World reported a 14% drop in ad revenue (advertising still makes up the bulk of the group’s income) for the quarter, and cuts in drama production and airtime. The

company also talked about a fragile economic environment.

Workpoint Entertainment’s share price is down about 30% year to date, and doldrums don’t come much deeper.

Part of its solution is a risk-reduction strategy that involves fewer international artist concerts, and a shift away from drama production towards the lowercost variety shows.

Workpoint, which operates the Workpoint TV channel as well as a lively IP business, reported a net loss of THB24.11 million in Q1 2025, down 368% on Q1 2024’s profit of THB 9.01 million. Most of the blame is being laid squarely on the overall economic slowdown, although intense competition in the concert business had an impact.

Comparing stock performance this year so far, mid-sized indie TV Thunder, home of big-brand shows such as Thailand’s Got Talent with Workpoint, isn’t doing that badly, with a share price drop of about 16% for the year to end May. But the jury is out on a recovery from a horrible start to the year. In the first week of June, TV Thunder said CFO Panjanuch Kitgrongpaibul was out.

Her exit came about two weeks after TVT reported a 55% drop in revenue to THB25.7 million/US$707,000 for Q1 2025, and a net loss of THB8.9 million – a 248% increase on Q1 2024.

The One Enterprise’s share price was down 43.18% at the end of March, and slipped even further to 52.27% down by the end of May compared to where it was on 1 January 2025; the five year drop is more than 77%. The company’s market cap is approx US$151 million, putting it third behind Major Cineplex Group and Mono Next.

The One Enterprise, which has a strong talent management and events business in addition to its channels/production, reported a net loss of THB22.42 million/US$617,000 for the first three months of 2025. Revenue from its copyrights/content licensing business was THB184.67 million/US$5 million, down 5.9% year on year, and the production

business (studio facilities and services) fell more than 50% to THB18.47 million/ US$508,000. At the same time, the company says its originals and international licensing efforts are a strategic tool to expand visibility and footprint, which in turn drives its idol marketing business.

And there’s the highlight. Revenue from what The One Enterprises calls “idol (or influencer) marketing” is up more than 48% this year, bringing in THB657.8 million/US$18 million from January to March. Turns out celebrity may well be where it’s at. For The One Enterprise at least.

For JKN Global Group, which has owned the Miss Universe Organisation (MUO) since October 2022, not so much.

The listed company is drowning in debt, share trading remains suspended after its failure to submit multiple earnings reports, and the whole entity is up to its still-beautiful eyeballs in the ugly business of rehabilitation proceedings.

JKN Global’s biz rehab plan was submitted to the Central Bankruptcy Court on 4 April 2025; no updates have been released. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued penalties, civil sanctions, and SET says the company is in danger of being delisted.

A few weeks later, MUO distanced itself from the mothership’s troubles in Thailand, saying that it operated as a “fully independent and autonomous body, operating under our bylaws and guided solely by MUO’s mission and values – without influence from any external entity, including JKN Global Group...

We maintain clear structural and legal separation between our Board and any external shareholders or partners.”

The Miss Universe pageant – now based in New York and Mexico with regional offices in Bangkok and Singapore – has never been short on spectacle. Thailand has the star role in the latest season. Our bet is that the drama is far from over. The next Miss Universe extravaganza takes place on 21 November 2025 – in Thailand. The show will, of course, go on.

Free TV/DTT Amarin TV HD Amarin TV HD broadcasts nationwide on Channel 34 and is accessible without a subscription via a digital antenna or compatible set-top box. The channel is operated by Amarin Television Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Amarin Corporations PCL. It offers a range of programming, including news, entertainment, lifestyle and variety shows.

Channel 3/33HD Digital terrestrial (DTT) Channel 3/33HD, operated by BEC Multimedia Co. Ltd. (a subsidiary of BEC World), is a general entertainment platform offering local/ acquired programming, including Asian drama series, variety and sports events.

The group is also involved in entertainment, music and TV and film production, as well as global distribution. BEC also owns studio facilities on the outskirts of Bangkok.

Channel 5 / TV5HD Channel 5 was established in 1958 by the Royal Thai Army aiming to bridge understanding between the army and the people. Daily schedules cover infotainment, news, factual, entertainment and educational content.

Channel 9 is owned/operated by the Mass Communications Organisation of Thailand (MCOT), a former state enterprise under the Office of the Prime Minister. The 24-hour general entertainment schedule is 70%+ in-house content with some international programming. MCOT is also involved in digital broadcasting, radio and online news.

One 31 HD is a nationwide digital terrestrial television channel, owned by GMM Grammy under The One Enterprise. It offers a diverse slate that includes dramas, news, sitcoms, game and variety shows.

GMM25 (SD) Media conglomerate GMM Grammy launched digital terrestrial channel GMM25 in 2014. The channel can also be accessed online. GMM25 primarily targets teenage and young adults with a broad line-up of entertainment content. A significant portion of GMM25’s programming is produced by GMMTV, a subsidiary of GMM Grammy. GMMTV flies the flag for the country’s soft power international initiatives. In 2024, GMMTV’s BL show, Last Twilight, won the ContentAsia Award for Best LGBTQ+ Programme made in Asia.

Mono29 (SD) Mono Group paid about US$68 million for its digital TV licence in 2013 and launched Mono29 in April 2014. The 24hour channel offers a mix of local and international content, including drama series, movies, animation, game shows, variety programmes, news and sports.

Bangkok Broadcasting & TV (BBTV) launched Channel 7 in Nov 1967. In 2014, BBTV launched Channel 7 HD, a simulcast broadcast of the analogue service. The 24-hour SD/HD schedule includes news, drama series, game shows, movies and sports.

RS Television, a subsidiary of RS Public Company, launched digital terrestrial (DTT) channel, Channel 8 in May 2014, offering foreign dramas, local dramas and sports, as well as variety shows, animation, news and movies. More than 90% of the content is produced in-house. RS also owns and operates four satellite channels: Channel 2, Sabaidee TV, YOU Channel and Sun Channel.

Nation Multimedia Group (NMG), established in July 1971 as an Englishlanguage daily newspaper publisher, now operates multiple media-related businesses. These include the Nation TV (Channel 22) digital terrestrial channel.

The National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) is a 24-hour news and information channel operated by Thailand’s Public Relations Department (PRD).

Established in 1985 with funding of THB 300 million (approx US$9 million) from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), NBT began broadcasting in 1988.

The channel offers a mix of news, educational content, cultural programmes and government-related information.

PPTV HD36 Digital terrestrial station PPTV HD36 was established in April 2014 by Bangkok Media and Broadcasting Co. The channel targets a broad audience with a mix of news, variety, sports and drama series.

Thai PBS Thai PBS, launched in January 2008, carries a mix of locally produced and international content ranging from documentaries, natural history, kids, lifestyle, variety shows, news and sports.

In April 2014, Thai PBS began digital terrestrial broadcasting (DTT) and also serves as a network/service provider for other digital terrestrial TV channels.

Thairath TV Thairath TV, a variety HD channel operated by Triple V Broadcast Co, launched in April 2014 with programming split 50:50 between news and variety. The digital terrestrial licence runs for 15 years until 2029.

Workpoint TV Workpoint TV (Channel 23), established in April 2014 by local production house Workpoint Entertainment, is a general entertainment channel offering drama/ soap opera, game shows and variety programmes, among others. Workpoint is one of Thailand’s leading formats players. Adaptations include First and Last Thailand (หัวท้ายตายก่อน) from the U.K. gameshow format, and local versions of CJ ENM’s My Boyfriend Is Better and I Can See Your Voice.

Subscription TV 3BB GIGATV 3BB GIGATV is owned by 3BB TV Co., Ltd, which has been part of the AIS telco empire since Nov 2023.The service offers over 70 channels across various genres, including movies, series, news, sports, documentaries and children’s program31

AIS PLAY / Playbox (See Streaming) All AIS fibre subscribers receive a free AIS Playbox set-top box, with an optional PLAY Premium add-on at THB199/US$8 month for premium content access and multi-device streaming.

Good TV A pre-paid DTH satellite platform operated by Next Step, Good TV targets Bangkok and larger cities with a mix of free and pay-TV channels delivered via set-top box. Good TV also has a carriage deal for five channels on AIS PLAY for THB49/US$1.50 a month.

PSI PSI launched in 1989 as a free-satellite TV provider, and was recognised as a payTV operator in 2014. PSI offers free-to-air and subscription services, with about 200 Thai and international channels. It provides a one-time payment setup for basic access with no monthly fees. HD broadcasts and premium content packages are available for additional monthly fees.

TrueVisions Part of the giant True Corp conglomerate, TrueVisions operates a traditional pay-TV platform with 200+ channels and various packages. At the end of March 2025, the platform had 1.2 million subscribers – down almost 11% from March 2024. TrueVisions’ biggest challenge in 2025 is dealing with the loss of the Premiere League rights, which it held for six years and lost to Jasmine International from the 2025 season. Streaming: Local 3Plus 3Plus (aka Ch3Plus) is the official streaming platform of Channel 3, operated by BEC Multimedia Co Ltd. The fremium platform offers live streaming of Channel 3/33HD and on-demand access to Thai dramas, variety shows, news and exclusive digital content. Ad-free premium subscriptions start at THB79/US$2.4 a month.

AIS PLAY AIS PLAY offers a wide range of entertainment services – from linear TV to SVOD and original productions – across tech platforms. AIS bundles apps and broadband, starting from THB599/ US$18 a month. AIS acquired 3BB TV Co in November 2023, and absorbed the 3BB GIGATV service into its platform.

Certain premium content or packages are exclusive to AIS subscribers. Ad-free subscription plans start from THB199/US$6 per month. The big watch for 2025 is how AIS will work with rights-holder Jasmine on the Premier League.

Bugaboo.TV Bugaboo.TV is a Thai digital entertainment platform operated by BBTV New Media Co Ltd, affiliated with Channel 7/HD (BBTV). It offers a wide range of free and ad-free subscription content, including live and on-demand streaming of Thai dramas (lakorn), variety shows, sports events and exclusive original programming. The service also supports live streaming of sports events, including football and Muay Thai matches.

MONOMAX MONOMAX is a subscription-based SVOD streaming service in Thailand, operated by Mono Next Public Company Limited. Launched in 2020, it offers over 20,000 hours of content, including Thaidubbed and original-language movies, series and shows. In 2024, MONOMAX licensed content from Paramount+, adding Showtime, CBS Studios and Paramount Pictures content to its platform.

The platform is accessible on multiple devices and supports streaming on up to five screens. Monthly subscription is THB250/US$7.50 a month.

NBT World 24-hour English-language television service offered free online to global audiences. NBT World is operated by the National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT), a division of the Public Relations Department (PRD) under the Office of the Prime Minister. Launched in 2013, NBT World aims to provide international audiences with news, cultural programmes, and information about Thailand’s policies and developments.

OneD The One Enterprise, which acknowleges the dominance of international streaming and social media platforms and the challenges they pose to local operators, set up the OneD streaming platform as a way to “offer customers a more convenient way to access content”. The hope is that OneD will allow The One Enterprise to diversify risk by reducing reliance on international platforms and ensuring greater control over content distribution and monetisation.

Thai PBS Play Thai PBS Play is the official streaming platform of Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS), Thailand’s public broadcaster. It continues to operate actively, providing free access to a variety of content such as news, documentaries, educational programmes, and cultural shows. The platform is available through its website and mobile applications.

TrueID TrueID, managed by True Corporation Public Company Limited, offers a mix of free and premium content, including Thai and international movies, series, live sports, and exclusive originals. Subscription options like TrueID+ are available at THB59/US$1.8 per month or THB599/US$18 per year, providing ad-free access to over 2,000 titles.

TrueVisions NOW TrueVisions NOW (also part of the listed True Corp empire) is a premium streaming service offering live sports, TV channels, movies, and series. It provides over 100 live channels and on-demand content.

Monthly subscription packages range from THB119/US$3.60 to THB2,155/US$64.

Streaming: International Thai audiences have access to the full spectrum of global video streaming platforms, some of which offer local interfaces and content and are bundled with domestic telco services. These include everything from Crunchyroll and YouTube Premium to HBO Max (available through AIS), Disney+ Hotstar and Prime Video, which scrapped its original production plans in Thailand in early 2024 after only a few months.

Netflix Netflix launched in Thailand in 2016 and has kept the country on its original production priority list. Originals such as Girl from Nowhere and Hunger, have been followed by titles such as Master of the House (the only Thai TV series on Netflix top 100 shows on the streamer’s“What We Watched” list for second half 2024), Dalah: Death and the Flowers and most recently Mad Unicorn, which premiered on 29 May 2025. Mad Unicorn is one of nine titles – including three series and six films – Netflix has on its Thai slate for 2025. Netflix offers a mobile-only plan in Thailand for about US$3 a month along with its usual packages dependent on device access.

iQiyi Chinese-owned streaming platform iQiyi has dabbled in Thai original production since its launch about five years ago, most notably with BL title KinnPorsche: The Series. The platform offers a Thai-language interface, local payment options, and free and premium tiers. Subscription is about US$4 a month.

Viu Viu launched in Thailand in 2017 and offers a range of Asian content, including Thai series such as Good Doctor, Beauty Newbie and Double Savage. Viu’s monthly ad-free premium plans in Thailand starts at THB119/US$3.60.

WeTV WeTV, operated by mainland China’s Tencent, offers a mix of local and international content, including dramas, movies and variety shows. WeTV operates both free (ad-supported) and VIP (paid) tiers in Thailand. Monthly subscription plans start from THB129/US$4.

Production, Post-Production & Studio Facilities Given Thailand’s popularity as a filming destination for productions from all over the world, the long list of local fixers (individuals and companies) offering a full range of services in multiple languages comes as no surprise. Most are registered with the Thailand Film Office (TFO). Thailand is also said to be the post-production crown-jewel in Southeast Asia, with studios led by Kantana Post-Production (Thailand).

Benetone Films A full-service international production company based in Bangkok, Benetone Films has produced over 100 feature films and TV series, including Viu Original Wannabe (2022) and feature film Love Stuck, which premiered on Prime Video in October 2024.

Century UU Entertainment (Thailand) Established in 2021 as a subsidiary of the Beijing-based Century UU Culture and Communication (also called Century YouYou) to produce, acquire and distribute content. Century UU Entertainment also buys airtime blocks on free-TV stations for shows such as Switch On (Game Rak Salub Miti) – the Thai remake of the Korean romantic/fantasy drama W – Two Worlds Apart.

Change2561 GMM Grammy’s production subsidiary Change2561, specialises in producing Thai dramas and series, managing artists, and organizing events. The company has produced over 300 shows, including the well-known Club Friday The Series and Pit Babe The Series 2, which airs on the One 31 channel and streams on iQiyi.

Five Star Production Founded in 1973, Five Star Production has produced a range of films, including works by directors like Wisit Sasanatieng (Tears of the Black Tiger) and Pen-Ek Ratanaruang (Last Life in the Universe).

G2D G2D is a post-production company based in Bangkok, specialising in visual effects (VFX), colour grading, editing, and digital finishing services for film, television, and advertising.

GDH 559 GDH 559, establshed in 2016 as a successor to GMM Tai Hub (GTH), is the studio behind 2024 blockbuster, How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies (2024), produced with its subsidiary, Jor Kwang Films. GDH 559 titles also include heist thriller Bad Genius (2017).

Heliconia H Group Heliconia H Group was established in 2005 specialising in original/international TV formats, including big-brand cooking competition format MasterChef Thailand for Channel 7; game show Cash Cab Thailand S4 for Channel 9; cooking competition MasterChef Thailand and Iron Chef Thailand for Channel 7; and The Choice Thailand S3 for Mono TV.

Hub Ho Hin Bangkok Hub Ho Hin Bangkok, one of the original partners in GMM Tai Hub, offers a range of production services, including casting and equipment, for local and international companies. The company holds a stake in GDH 559.

Kantana Group/Kantana Motion Pictures Perhaps best-known for its studio and postproduction facilities, Kantana Group Plc, founded in 1951, was behind Netflix blockbuster, Master of the House, produced by subsidiary, Kantana Motion Pictures, which also produced Reverse 4 You and The Crown Princess (2018). Subsidiaries also include Kantana Animation Studios (Khan Kluay and Khan Kluay 2). Facilities include Kantana Movie Town and a new virtual production studio set up in 2024.

Founded by Chris Lowenstein in 1996 and based in Chiang Mai, Living Films offers on-ground production support and services for a range of productions, including Thailand-based scenes for The Night Agent and The Serpent.

M Studio, a subsidiary of Major Cineplex Group, was established in 2014 and has produced and distributed a wide range of films, including the Tee Yod film franchise with BEC World. Other production partners include Mono, Workpoint and True.

True CJ Creations is a Thai production company established in 2018, as a 50:50 joint venture between Thailand’s True Corporation and South Korea’s CJ ENM. The company specialises in producing Thai-language adaptations of popular Korean dramas, such as What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, Happiness and Mouse, which are distributed across platforms such as True ID, TrueVisions and True4U, all part of True Corp’s stable. The company has also ventured into original factual entertainment production, led by docu-series, Hidden Gem, which streams on HBO Max and Netflix Thailand.

Founded in 2006 by Thai filmmaker and visual effects (VFX) artist Juck Somsaman, The Monk Studios provides animation, visual effects and game development services. Vfx Projects include Dr Climax (Netflix) and Carnival Row season two (Prime Video). The Monk Studios also creates original content, including Netflix animated series Sea of Love (2022).

TV Burabha has expanded its documentary beginnings to to films, TV series and reality shows. Under the TV Burabha Group (TVBG), the company is also involved in advertising and events, as well as production and studio services.

Sahamongkol is known for box office hits, topped by Khun Pan 3, the final installment of its action-fantasy trilogy, and the Ong-Bak martial arts films Recent festuresinclude horror comedy feature Rider.

A leading unscripted producer, TV Thunder (TVT) has also been involved in multiple versions of Take Me Out, along with local adaptations of The Price is Right and Show Me The Money. Established in 1989, the group producing original and localised international formats as well as selling its own formats and dramas to broadcasters in Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar. Productions include I Can See Your Voice Thailand (2016-ongoing); a 2019 remake of South Korean variety format Infinite Challenge Thailand; and quiz format Lightning Quiz (2014-2019). The company also operates digital TV channel, Workpoint TV.

Thailand Film Office Operated under Thailand’s Tourism Department/Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Thailand Film Office (TFO) manages a well-trodden and popular path for film and TV production teams from all over the world. The TFO remit includes managing film permits as well as the country’s cash rebates of up to 30% for foreign film productions with local expenditure of at least THB50 million (about US$1.4 million), plus other incentives.
