Enter Taj English and Roydon Jeffrey, the young entrepreneurs of Jamaican descent who are shaking up the beauty and wellness industry with their groundbreaking app, ListedB. Taj English: The Tech Whiz with a Jamaican Soul Taj English, the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at ListedB, hails from Brooklyn, New York. However, his journey is one that bridges the gap between the concrete jungle of New York City and the serene beauty of Jamaica. Taj’s life took an unexpected turn when, at the age of three, his mother decided to relocate to Jamaica, where he spent six formative years. It was in Jamaica that Taj’s fascination with technology was ignited, thanks to a family member who introduced him to computers. This pivotal moment marked the genesis of his lifelong passion for technology. Upon returning to the United States, Taj’s thirst for knowledge led him to request a computer from his mom. With remarkable determination, he taught himself how to code. Taj’s technical journey has since seen him working with major tech companies like Salesforce, where he played a pivotal role
in developing the mobile app used during the Covid-19 Pandemic in collaboration with Envision Health. For Taj, his time in Jamaica holds a special place in his heart as it instilled values that continue to shape him. His personal mission now is to utilize his technical expertise to support local entrepreneurs in the beauty and wellness industry, from barbers to makeup artists. This mission is perfectly embodied in ListedB, a platform designed to empower beauty professionals to become better business owners. Roydon Jeffrey: A Jamaican Connection and Tech Maven Roydon Jeffrey, the CEO of ListedB, carries his Jamaican heritage as a badge of honor. Despite never having met his Jamaican grandfather, Roydon made it his mission to embrace and immerse himself in the culture. He can fluently speak Patois as if he were a native.
Roydon’s journey into the tech world began when he decided to pivot from his accounting career, opting for a new path in technology. He joined the General Assembly Coding Bootcamp in 2015, acquiring the coding skills that have propelled his career in the field ever since. But Roydon’s journey to ListedB didn’t start with coding; it began in a unisex salon in Brooklyn during his high school days. This is where he gained firsthand knowledge and experience in the beauty and wellness industry, knowledge that would later prove invaluable. Together, Taj and Roydon bring the perfect blend of technical skills and industry expertise to revolutionize the beauty and wellness industry through ListedB.
