Komatsu Equipment Company (KEC) customers had an opportunity to test drive Komatsu and BOMAG products during its recent Demo Days. Nearly 20 machines were available to operate, including several Komatsu intelligent Machine Control dozers and excavators as well as a BOMAG MPH 600 soil stabilizer. “We want to give customers an idea of the broad spectrum of machinery that KEC carries to meet their specific job requirements,” said Jim Sandercock, General Manager of Sales for Nevada and Wyoming. “This is a friendly environment that allows them to get in the cab and put a wheel loader, dozer, excavator, truck, motor grader or other equipment in a situation

Shane Bills of BMEI won the excavator challenge, which involved moving “pins” among safety cones. Jace Nix of GT Nix Construction took the top prize in the wheel loader category where competitors navigated an obstacle course and moved pieces of rebar. “This is a fun event, in addition to a chance to show contractors a sampling of the equipment and comprehensive support KEC backs it with,” said President John Pfisterer. “We hope by the time they leave here, they will see us as a total solutions provider.” KEC personnel were stationed near each machine to answer questions and show attendees the features and benefits of the equipment. Manufacturer and other vendor representatives were on-hand to discuss their products, including BOMAG Territory Manager Bill Stalzer. Rob Morrow, Mountain Regional Equipment Continued . . .
