RAK Ceramics revolutionises the kitchen with their ‘CookingRAK’ invisible induction technology

RAK Ceramics, one of the world’s leading ceramics brands, introduces a one-of-akind invisible induction cooktop, ‘CookingRAK’, designed to create a multifunctional kitchen space ideal for daily use.

By integrating CookingRAK into countertops, users can prepare, cook and dine in the same space ideal for day-to-day and entertaining by combining both high-performance RAK Ceramics porcelain slabs with an innovative induction system that operates through a magnetic field. With its versatile features, CookingRAK will transform any kitchen into a space where the best experiences are lived.

Exclusively developed to be used only with RAK Ceramics porcelain slabs in 14.5mm thickness and 135.5 x 305 cm size, which are resistant to heat and scratches as well as being made of non-porous material that does not harbor molds and bacteria, the new product is food-safe and easy to clean.

Without compromising the cooking quality, CookingRAK also uses less energy than traditional electric and gas systems.

Safety in the kitchen is a matter of great importance, and with CookingRAK’s induction system, neighbouring countertop surfaces do not heat up. Instead, it works using electromagnetic currents and will only heat the cookware placed over the hob.

CookingRAK provides two convenient methods of control for operating the system: the attached remote controller or its dedicated application. Through the application, users can easily turn the system on or off, adjust the power level of the hobs, and set timers while cooking. The application can be downloaded for free from both Apple Store and Google Play.

To make it easier to locate the cooking points on the countertop, RAK Ceramics offers the option to customise the system with special markings in six different variations. This ensures compatibility with any kitchen style while maintaining the quality and absorbency of the slabs.

The carefully designed color scheme caters to the diverse preferences of modern customers, embracing the latest trends available in five ranges — Marbles, Stone, Concrete, Metals and Unicolor—harmonising flawlessly with different aesthetics, from modern to classic or rustic.

Leonardo de Muro, Vice President, International Business Development, Marketing and Communication, RAK Ceramics, said: “As a ceramic and porcelain industry leader, we are continuously exploring ways to enhance our consumers' spaces with innovative solutions. The CookingRAK system is the perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality with the added convenience of digital controls, making it a true innovation for the modern kitchen.”

CookingRAK by RAK Ceramics is available for customisation and purchase at RAK Ceramics showrooms across UAE.

Herman Miller and Studio 7.5 present the Zeph Chair, a bright, ergonomic solution

erman Miller, a part of the MillerKnoll collective and a global leader in innovative design and furnishing solutions, announces the return of the renowned collaboration that enthralled the design world with the Cosm, Mirra, and Setu chairs. Studio 7.5 and Herman Miller have paired up once more to reveal the Zeph Chair, their latest collaboration.

As people across the globe continue to settle into new ways of working, many will continue to need products in both homes and office environments that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are purposeful.

“Zeph marks the introduction of a chair tailored to our new ways of working. It’s an elegant, customisable, and colourful addition to Herman Miller’s marketleading portfolio of highperformance seating.” says Ben Watson, President, Herman Miller.

Zeph aims to bridge the gap between Herman Miller’s iconic midcentury designs and the ergonomics of today’s office chairs. The result is an accessible design that doesn’t compromise comfort or style.

The Design

Zeph’s clean and uninterrupted silhouette is intentional. However, customers shouldn’t be deceived by its simple,

Horganic appearance. Under the seat lies hidden technology designed to deliver a seamless ergonomic experience that leverages human-centred motion. This allows Zeph to create a natural, fluid motion that works for all body types.

“Our ambition was to create an animated shell chair. What first sounds like a contradiction became possible by utilising the inherent materiality of plastic: being flexible and capable of providing a springloaded mechanism.

Zeph’s joyful aesthetics

Studio 7.5 perfected a one-piece seat and back that actually moves with the person sitting in it. While most chairs are static, the kinematic plastic mono shell on Zeph offers a natural recline that uses the sitter’s pivot points to create the right counterbalance and change posture seamlessly.

The expansive colour palette also took inspiration from the past. “One of the things we wanted to pick up from Herman Miller’s mid-century era was the optimistic and delightful

The uniform hue design, achieved by pioneering dipped-in colour options, was first introduced to Herman Miller by Studio 7.5 through the launch of the Cosm chair. Through this process, colour is applied purposefully to the entire chair, all the way down to the casters, accentuating the sculptural beauty of its form.

3-D Knit Technology

In addition to the bright, dipped-in colour options available for the chair, every Zeph shell can be further customised through the addition of upholstery, either as a seat pad or a unibody (which covers the entire front of the shell).

The unique construction of this upholstery is a first for Herman Miller. The upholstery can easily be mounted and replaced without tools for easy cleaning or to swap different colours, and it utilises revolutionary 3-D knit technology, with each seat option made of 50% recycled polyester yarn — offering sophisticated colour choices and cushioned comfort.

“As professionals enter a new era of empowerment and flexibility, Herman Miller is responding in kind with Zeph — a design that can continue to be customised even after it’s left our care.” adds Watson. “Between colours, shell choices and texture options, Zeph is a thoughtfully designed solution fit for any life or space.”

On June 20, 2023, Gaggenau held an extraordinary evening at the Theatre of Digital Arts Dubai. The immersive art-infused event enthralled participants while sparking significant conversation on building a powerful interior-design brand. On the evening, Tomas Alonso, the leader and CEO of BSH Middle East, and Irem Yalzar, the Head of Brand Marketing at BSH Middle East, repre-

Tomas Alonso, who presented a fitting welcoming note to an audience of industry executives, potential consumers, and journalists, set the tone for the evening. He believed that the night was more than just an opportunity to deliver home appliances or products, it was an opportunity to deliver dreams.

He extended his gratitude to the present design leaders while emphasising the necessity of future cooperation and seeing Gaggenau as the premium choice in expanding luxury living across the region.

Shortly after, the audience erupted with delight when noted interior designer Karin Bohn joined the stage.

Karin spoke about her career inspiration, her collaboration with luxury brand Gaggenau, her experiences hosting a Netflix show, and the challenges that she faced as a creative entrepreneur and working mother. For Karin, design is all about connection— “connecting people with spaces and creating environments that bring people together." Growing up in a small town in northern BC, Canada, Karin discovered her passion for design at a tender age. She embarked on a journey to pursue interior design in Vancouver, and with no time-wasted, right after graduation, she incorporated her own design studio, House of Bohn.

Karin's journey to success involved building a personal brand that resonated with a global audience. Starting with a YouTube channel, she openly discussed the challenges faced by young designers, women in business, and the behind-the-scenes aspects of her studio. She believes there’s an innate beauty in building a brand in this manner. “Showing up on social media and being really candid and honest and authentic about your practice and what you're doing. It builds a really loyal fan base, and that's how you build a brand”, Karin stated. This transparent approach garnered a loyal following of over 13 million viewers, and Karin's brand continues to thrive through her candid and authentic presence on social media.

Karin's dreams of television stardom came to fruition when she landed a show on Netflix – Restaurants on Edge. She reflects, “The interesting thing I learned is that really no matter where you are in the world, we really are the same. People all want to come together and build their dream. People want to provide for their families and build community, and that's what we were doing with these restaurants.”

Becoming a mother has been a transformative experience for Karin, nonetheless balancing motherhood and a thriving career, Karin admits having the occasional mom-guilt, “There are days when I feel like I >>>

really want to be with her then there are days when I need to be working and I feel guilty that I’m not at home”. Her dedication and organisation have allowed her to navigate both roles with grace and determination. Being a woman in a male-dominated industry, she strives to be a role model for her daughter, showcasing the power of hard work, self-sufficiency, and pursuing one's passion.

Karin's brand, House of Bohn, embodies luxury, and her collaboration with Gaggenau, renowned for its high-end kitchen appliances, aligns perfectly with her vision - "Their

products seamlessly blend functionality and aesthetics, allowing me to create spaces that are not only visually stunning but also highly functional.”

Looking ahead, Karin envisions a future where technology becomes even more integrated into design, allowing for innovative and immersive experiences. Simultaneously, she emphasises the increasing importance of sustainability and the use of local materials in the work of designers and architects. By embracing these trends, the design industry can contribute to a more environmentally conscious and socially

responsible world.

To conclude the glorious evening, the stage was graced by Mark Eggberry and Chef Pang of the Michelin Guide Asian fine-dine, Tan-Cha. They created an extraordinary culinary show that combined art, cuisine, and immersive storytelling. The curated meal, an omni-spinach dumpling, was not only presented as a delectable takeaway but was also made with blue flour to pay homage to the Gaggenau oven's blue interiors.

This unique event gave a fantastic opportunity to network with industry leaders, creatives, and

enthusiasts, establishing connections and collaborations that fueled innovation in the field of architecture and design. Gaggenau has been committed to producing beautifully engineered high-end household appliances for over 300 years. For them, three fundamental constants have always been "the vision of the designer, the quality of the material, and the skill of the craftsperson."

In response to the urgent need for transformative action in the face of ecological and social challenges, the concept of regenerative events has gained momentum. Going beyond sustainability, regenerative events aim to actively contribute to the regeneration and restoration of ecosystems, communities, and cultures.

We have always had sustainability management as a priority and a cross-cutting aspect that applies to all the activities we develop. However, we are convinced that it is time to go one step further, to break down the barrier of net zero and moving towards regenerative projects: events, exhibitions and experiences that are connected to the local context in which they take place, that make people feel good and that help to improve the health of the planet.

Regenerative events go beyond minimising negative impacts and seek to create positive outcomes for the environment, society, and economy. They prioritise practices that restore natural systems, enhance community well-being, and promote a regenerative mindset. Regenerative events aim to leave a lasting

Regenerative

legacy by actively contributing to the renewal and resilience of the ecosystems and communities in which they are held.

Doing this in the event industry is a challenge.

The key is innovation and creativity from the design phase. Daring to leave traditional models behind, not being afraid of change. For example, we work daily integrating circular economy solutions that bring us closer and closer to zero waste projects and we take advantage of synergies with other ACCIONA business units, such as sustainable mobility or renewable energy. We are also increasingly integrating the use of innovative materials and want to focus on minimising the consumption of resources during all the development phases of our projects. The objective: to design and produce events that not only minimise negative impacts but also leave a positive legacy on the planet.

Regenerative events need to meet sustainability criteria in three dimensions: always seeking a balance between social welfare, respect for the environment and economic growth.

To provide this transformation towards net zero events, it is essential to establish a solid and reliable methodology for periodic measurement. Having a scorecard of performance indicators allows us to make decisions, correct possible deviations and establish specific improvement objectives for our current situation. If we do not know where we are starting from, it is difficult to determine where we want to go.

For example, CO2 is a very valuable indicator that touches on many of the aspects that apply to the event. For us, measuring and offsetting CO2 is nothing more than being aware of the climatic consequences caused by our activity in the form of emissions, and measuring them

allows us to establish reduction strategies. Knowing how many emissions are generated by transportation, catering, accommodations, etc. leads us to meet other objectives.

Our goal is to become NET ZERO, or in other words, to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our events to as close to zero as possible. To achieve this, we have developed a sustainable events guide that contemplates the guidelines to be followed by all the agents involved so that this objective becomes a reality in 2040.

In the organisation of such events, the local community plays a very important role. One of our purposes is to develop projects connected to local culture and traditions. At ACCIONA Cultura we analyze the environment in depth to try to reduce any local gaps, collaborating and supporting local groups and businesses that benefit >>>

events must adhere to three sustainability criteria: social welfare, environmental stewardship, and economic growth.

the community and generate wealth and social welfare in the environment. We also try to integrate the communities as part of the program we offer at each event, highlighting the identity of each place through experiences that allow us to learn about and experience from the inside the tangible and intangible heritage of the places where we work.

Being sustainable is not about offsetting the emissions generated by an unsustainable business model. What is truly transformative is to make the whole process truly sustainable. In this sense, being ISO 20121 certified, which guarantees the sustainable manage-

ment of all the event's processes, leads us to continuous improvement in aspects that have an impact on the three dimensions: environmental, social and economic.

Moreover, due to the very ephemeral nature of many of our activities, it is a sector that must adapt quickly and evolve towards a more sustainable way of doing things. We reach a large number of people in a very direct way, and we have a responsibility to anticipate their expectations and take

on the challenge of real change. In our case, we seek to leave a positive footprint through regenerative events, with measures that contribute to leaving a legacy in the community and in nature.

Regenerative events have emerged as a vital approach to address environmental concerns while fostering economic growth and social responsibility. By integrating key principles such as energy efficiency, waste management, and social equity, these events bring numerous benefits to society. Not only do they reduce the environmental impact of gatherings, but they also engage participants, enhance reputations, and create long-lasting legacies. As we strive for a sustainable future, the adoption of green practices in event management becomes increasingly essential. By hosting regenerative events, we can nurture the present while preserving the future for generations to come.

Explain the design concept of the Vinesse, which is set in a glass pavilion that appears to float on the surrounding water.

Sharjah lies in the midst of an exciting cultural renaissance, with the Vinesse, an elegant all-day dining restaurant, is housed on a faux glass island and serves excellent world food all day. The attached bar serves exquisitely crafted cocktails and a wide range of spirits and single malts.

Set in a glass pavilion that appears to float on the surrounding water, the all-day dining restaurant serves fine international cuisines crafted in open show kitchens and

finished table-side by Oberoi chefs. The eclectic menu serves fresh takes on dishes from cuisines around the world, from the freshest sushi to salads and mezze, Indian specialties, to charcoal grilled meats, all made from locally sourced ingredients. Dine indoors or al fresco beside uninterrupted ocean views.

What inspired the design and décor choices in Vinesse restaurant? Can you describe any unique or innovative design features in Vinesse restaurant that differentiate it from other dining establishments?

As designed by Piero Lissoni, the project appears simple but is actually complex. Lissoni is architect, art director and designer and is recognised as one of the masters of contemporary design.

Every detail was examined in order to be both sustainable and respectful to the surrounding area and natural surroundings. The peculiar ambiance of this magnificent place inspired Lissoni. The design is beautiful while retaining a strong sensitivity to the area's natural beauty and capturing the scents of the Arabian Gulf mingled with those of a tropical mangrove forest.

The interior design is based on sophisticated simplicity and openness. The use of large, transparent openings and slatted wood partitions allow the eye to travel freely to the distant horizon. In true Italian style, the modern architecture blends multiple influences such as the perfumes of the Orient, the flavours of India, and spices arriving from the Occident, Africa, and China. As an architect and a designer, Lissoni personally curated all objects, rugs, photographs, and sofas, to ensure that there was no intrusive furniture, so as not to interrupt the sense of seamless transparency between the rooms and the surrounding landscape. Lissoni has a penchant for hybridisation, the perfection of the imperfect,

and unlikely combinations of textures and colours that are not too controlled. He calls this a fondness for a “genuine sense of alchemy” where many things appear to happen by chance.

Handpicked artefacts adorn the restaurant like the guardian lions statues that are often referred by a multitude of names such as: "Fu Dogs", "Foo Dogs", "Fu Lions", "Fo Lions" at the dining area. Romina Ressia artwork covers the wall in the Vinesse Bar. She is recognised for pioneering the use of anachronisms applied to images of strong Renaissance influence combined with contemporary objects. >>>

The innovative glass architecture of the all-day eating restaurant appears to float on the surrounding waters.

What are the restaurant's highly recommended dishes and beverages?

All menus are healthy and balanced. Dishes are made using locally sourced produce which is prepared by using authentic methods from around the world.

The attached bar has an aura of the pre-prohibition, Golden Age of cocktails. The menu includes classic cocktails, international fine wines, and premium spirits. The bar also has a wide choice of single malts and Cuban cigars. Vinesse is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The bar is open from 11:00 to 23:00.

Vinesse offers a cornucopia of culinary delights, from the highly recommended, vibrant seaweed salad bursting with flavors, featuring edamame, soy sprouts, avocado, spring onions, sesame, and drizzled with a tantalizing sweet chili sauce. Or the wide array of premium meats prepared using the Josper grill, combining smokey flavours and oven baked induction to produce complexly flavoured perfectly cooked meats. The prime tenderloin, Turkish meat platter and the Australian lamp chops are some of the popular dishes from the meat selection. The must try Indian fare at Vinesse range from the rich Butter chicken, to the assortment of tandoori kebabs in the tikka platter or the selection of Awadhi Dum Biryanis. Vinesse also offers unique tasting experiences like the mussel’s pot which is an indulgent assortment of Dutch mussels, cooked to perfection in different ways or the Indian Thali, which can be described as a gastronomic journey exploring the culinary diversity that the country has to offer. End your meal on a sweet note with the signature Toffee pudding.

How does the design of Vinesse restaurant align with the overall brand image and identity of The Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah?

The resort has been conceived in pure white, with touches of teal, chartreuse, blue, green, and red. Patterned wall tiles in the rooms and dining

areas add a playful touch to the elegant design. The resort is divided into three white platform structures that sit parallel to the ocean. Each building was carefully positioned in accordance with the purpose it is meant to serve. The platforms rise from the oceanfront and the height of the buildings increases with each platform, which preserves uninterrupted views of the ocean from all areas of the resort.

The main hotel consists of a set of separate buildings connected by light walkways, punctuated by shallow water pools extending over the inner courtyard that is also the home to Vinesse. The cladding of the outer wood panels complements the wooden furnishings inside, and creates an enchanting play of light and shadow as the suns sets and day gives way to night.

with KhadijaAlBastaki, Senior Vice President of Dubai Design District (d3), part of TECOM Group.

EVERY YEAR ON AUGUST 28, EMIRATI WOMEN'S DAY IS OBSERVED. WHAT DOES THIS DAY MEAN TO YOU AS A SUCCESSFUL EMIRATI WOMAN IN YOUR FIELD?

Emirati Women's Day holds a very special place in my heart as an Emirati woman in the field of design and creativity. It serves as a powerful reminder of the significant progress that Emirati women have made in various sectors, including the design industry, celebrates the achievements and contributions of women in our society, and reiterates the immense potential that women possess to excel in any domain they choose. Personally, this day reinforces my commitment to breaking barriers and inspiring fellow Emirati women to pursue their passions fearlessly and relentlessly so they can continue to contribute to the nation's growth.

HOW HAVE FORMER AND CONTEMPORARY LEADERS AND VISIONARIES PROMOTED AND SUPPORTED WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT AND TALENT? WHO INSPIRES YOU THE MOST AND WHY?

Throughout history, we have been fortunate to witness the role played by the unwavering support of former and contemporary leaders and visionaries in raising the levels of women's empowerment and talent in the UAE. Their efforts have paved the way for greater gender equality and opportunities for women across various sectors and created an environment where women can thrive and succeed. Among those who inspire me the most is Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. As the President of the UAE

Gender Balance Council as well as of Dubai Women

Establishment she has implemented numerous initiatives aimed at empowering women in all sectors. She has actively promoted women’s education, leadership opportunities, and participation in the workforce, thereby fostering a more inclusive and diverse environment in the region.

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A POWERFUL EMIRATI WOMEN?

A powerful Emirati woman, in my opinion, is someone who fearlessly pursues her ambitions, leaves a positive impact on her community, and empowers others along the way. She is a visionary and a compassionate leader who is not only successful in her professional endeavours but also actively contributes to the betterment of her community and society. Her strength lies not only in her achievements but also in her ability to inspire and create opportunities for others, leading with compassion, resilience, and a profound sense of purpose.

international brands with over 900 customers and 19,000 creative professionals – and my background has been instrumental in shaping my approach to leadership that ensures d3’s continued global impact.

I carry a deep appreciation for art, innovation, and heritage, and the Emirati values of respect, collaboration, and innovation guide my decisions and interactions with my colleagues and stakeholders. One way I ensure d3 enables this environment while contributing to the Dubai Creative Economy Strategy is by organising internationally renowned events like Dubai Fashion Week and Dubai Design Week. Dubai is a global hub for innovation and talent and this status is reinforced by its recognition as a UNESCO City of Creative Design.

HOW DOES YOUR ORGANISATION PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY OR INCLUDE WOMEN AT ALL LEVELS OF THE ORGANISATION?

Gender equality is of paramount importance at d3 and TECOM Group and our district is committed to promoting gender equality and creating an environment where women can excel. Today there are more than 31 homegrown companies just in the fashion segment at d3, and of these, 11 companies are owned by Emirati nationals and 18 with women entrepreneurs at the top. d3 has implemented initiatives to support women's professional growth, mentorship programmes, and networking opportunities. We also ensure equal opportunities for women to unleash their full potential and overcome barriers that might hinder their progress. Women’s creativity and talent has been pivotal to d3’s growth – be it architect Maha Al Bwardy, whose work is featured in hotels, homes, and offices around the world, or Aljoud Lootah, whose studio at our district draws on Emirati heritage to develop modern furniture and jewellery. Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI), located at d3, is also enriching the future of creativity and innovation through its multidisciplinary degree in design. For example, DIDI graduate Ayesha Abdulla Al Suwaidi is the co-creator of MiFloof, a phygital companion for children’s emotional regulation skills. It is one of the several groundbreaking ideas – from 3D printed shoe heels to visual stimulation devices – to have emerged from the institute.

WOULD

YOU SAY THAT AT THIS POINT IN YOUR CAREER,

DO YOU HAVE YOUR DREAM JOB? HOW EASY OR DIFFICULT WAS IT TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

I consider myself fortunate to be in a position that aligns with my passion for design and allows me to

contribute to the growth of the creative industry in Dubai. Reaching this point required determination, hard work, and the strong support system that Dubai and the UAE offer for women. Striking a balance between personal and professional aspirations is a continuous journey that has taught me valuable lessons and made me stronger as a leader. To me, d3’s impact on the global design community is what makes it all worthwhile.

WHAT DO YOU WISH TO DO FOR WOMEN TO ENCOURAGE AND GUIDE THEM IN THEIR CAREERS?

As an advocate for women's empowerment, my aim is to be a guiding light for aspiring Emirati women in their careers by providing mentorship and support. I believe in fostering a nurturing environment where women can voice their ideas and take on leadership roles without hesitation, embrace their uniqueness, overcome obstacles, and chase their dreams with unwavering determination.

For instance, in5 Design at d3 offers entrepreneurs and freelancers access to fully equipped, state-of-the-art Prototyping and Fashion Labs. d3’s community consistently hosts new events, pop-up stores, and activations for people to enjoy as well as grow their skills, including marquee events such as Dubai Fashion Week, Dubai Design Week and Sole DXB. Today d3 is the Middle East’s leading platform for design, fashion, architecture, and art, and with global industry leaders making a home at our district – be it fashion giant Burberry or architecture heavyweight Nikken Sekkei – our community continues to offer emerging homegrown talent a gateway to global recognition.

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS?

My plans revolve around further advancing women's empowerment initiatives in Dubai and the UAE through d3. I aspire to continue promoting creativity, innovation, and sustainability while ensuring that women play an integral role in shaping the design landscape. As part of this effort d3 will keep working to strengthen its relationships with global creative leaders and create a platform where Emirati talents can shine internationally. Additionally, I aim to collaborate with organisations and institutions to create platforms that amplify women's voices and celebrate their achievements on a global scale. d3 is a building block of Dubai’s knowledge-based economy and facilitates networking, knowledge sharing, and creativity. My hope is to continue enriching this offering at d3 so that together, we can build a brighter and more inclusive future for everyone.

At this point in my career, I can confidently say that I am living my dream job as the Creative Director of Studio D04. However, the journey to reach this point was not without its challenges. Starting and running a business in the competitive world of architecture and design presented numerous obstacles. Learning how to run a business effectively required dedication, resilience, and a constant willingness to adapt and grow. It involved understanding the intricacies of financial management, client relations, marketing, and team leadership. Overcoming these challenges was made possible by having the right partners who shared my vision and complemented my skills. Their support and expertise helped navigate the complexities of the industry. Additionally, the support from the government through workshops and initiatives played a crucial role in making this journey better and easier. Access to resources and guidance provided us with the necessary tools to navigate regulatory processes, expand our network, and stay updated on the latest industry trends.

EMIRATI WOMEN'S DAY IS OBSERVED. WHAT DOES THIS DAY MEAN TO YOU AS A SUCCESSFUL EMIRATI WOMAN IN YOUR FIELD?

It's a reminder to be grateful for being an Emirati lady and to give back to our beloved country for all of its efforts in women's empowerment and equality, as well as delivering the best for the nation.

HOW HAVE FORMER AND CONTEMPORARY LEADERS AND VISIONARIES PROMOTED AND SUPPORTED WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT AND TALENT? WHO INSPIRES YOU THE MOST AND WHY?

The UAE is not unfamiliar with the concept of empowerment. We have been fortunate with visionary leaders who are supportive of and believe in women's abilities to work alongside men in creating this country and achieving success in all areas.

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A POWERFUL EMIRATI WOMAN?

I would rather use inspiring Emirati women than powerful ones. An inspiring Emirate woman recognises her value/talent and follows her aspirations while maintaining her Emirati identity. A woman who effectively represents UAE culture and society on a global scale.

DESCRIBE YOUR CURRENT ROLE IN YOUR ORGANISATION AND HOW YOUR RICH BACKGROUND AND CULTURE CONTRIBUTE TO YOUR SUCCESS IN YOUR FIELD.

My day job currently takes me away from design because I work as a civil design manager. I am also the founder of JOD design services, which focusses on graphic and product design inspired by culture. Furthermore, I am a co-founder of Ajzal Gift Trading, where our items embody our society's principles of generosity and quality, as well as passion in design, sophistication in implementation, and uniqueness in the smallest aspects.

HOW DOES YOUR ORGANISATION PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY OR INCLUDE WOMEN AT ALL LEVELS OF THE ORGANISATION?

We had no issues with gender equality because women in the UAE are equal to males in all possibilities and work-related factors. I would rather say that organisations are more focussed on women's needs and providing them with the support and environment that allows them to maintain a work-life balance.

WOULD YOU SAY THAT AT THIS POINT IN YOUR CAREER, YOU HAVE YOUR DREAM JOB? HOW EASY OR DIFFICULT WAS IT TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

I've recently reached a point in my work where I can balance my career and my passion for design. It was difficult, but the key to success was having a supporting team that shared the same values, talent, and vision.

WHAT DO YOU WISH TO DO FOR WOMEN TO ENCOURAGE AND GUIDE THEM IN THEIR CAREERS?

Be unique and explore inspiring ideas where you can blend in with other designers. Always desire the best for others; it's more of a trip than a competition. You should be your only competitor. Your success is determined by how much progress you have made to excel at what you do. Finally, keep learning and never be afraid to feed others.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS?

I enjoy experimenting with new materials and product lines. We have previously worked on illustrations, graphic design, gifting and product design, jewellery design, and leather products and footwear. I was very interested in learning more about interior design. As a result, we are expanding our product ranges to include bespoke furniture.

Interview 36 DESIGN MIDDLE EAST | AUGUST 2023 design-middleeast.com

Talent UNLIMITED!

Would you say that at this point in your career, you have your dream job? How easy or difficult was it to get to where you are now?

It hasn't been an easy journey, but through hard work and dedication, I've been able to get to where I am. I truly believe that hard work and responsibility are the keys to career success. The challenges I've faced along the way have only motivated me to strive for excellence and be accountable for my actions. That's why I consider my current job a dream come true. It not only allows me to utilise my skills and contribute to meaningful projects but also provides opportunities for continuous growth, both professionally and personally.

What inspired you to pursue a career in architecture?

My curiosity with the power of design and its impact on people's lives prompted me to seek a career in architecture. The ability to shape and create functional, beautiful spaces that enhance the human experience deeply resonated with me. I was drawn to the idea of fusing art, science, and problem-solving to create structures that not only function but also inspire and uplift individuals and communities.

Did you face any challenges early on in your career, working as a female architect?

After completing my university degree, I joined AEDAS firm, where I've never experienced any gender bias suggesting that male architects are superior. On the contrary, the firm actively supports and encourages female architects by expanding their leadership prospects, developing professional development, and encouraging continual progress.

What do you wish to do for Saudi women to encourage and guide them in their architectural careers?

Through interviews, articles, and public events, highlight accomplished Saudi women architects as role models. Their achievements and stories will inspire and push more women to pursue professions in design.

What are some of the common misunderstandings regarding women in architecture?

Women in architecture, like in many other professions, may face assumptions or stereotypes regarding their ability to balance work and family responsibilities. This can lead to limitations in career advancement or opportunities.

What advice would you give to women aspiring to become architects and designers?

Saudi-origin LAMA AL-KHARBOUSH, Aedas architectural associate, received the Woman Architect of the Year title at the Architecture Leaders Awards 2023. With over five years of experience in master planning, hospitality, mixed-use, residential, and transport projects, she aims to empower young women to follow their dreams..

Can you tell us about a project that you’re particularly proud of?

I take great pride in all of my projects, and it's challenging for me to single out one specific design because each holds significant meaning to me. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of my colleagues at AEDAS, every project I've worked on has added to my growth and understanding as an architect.

Believe in yourself, accept your unique perspectives, and pursue your passion for architecture and design with zeal. Take chances, trust your intuition, and let your creative vision show. Your confidence and unwavering belief in your abilities will propel you to success and make a lasting impact in the field.

What are plans for the future?

I aspire to be more successful and to leave a lasting impression in the world of architecture. I intend to take on challenging projects and demonstrate my own design approach. I hope to contribute to the progress and innovation of architecture by always improving my abilities and seeking opportunities to shine.

You've previously worked with major design organisations; what inspired you to start your own studio— Moy?

I come from a family of entrepreneurs, so I believe I always knew I wanted to start my own business. I used to be a headache for my superiors because I was always asking for more and more responsibilities. Owning your own business is undoubtedly a task I've been eager to take on since I began my profession. The puzzle seems to be fitting together now. The timeless style with a splash of lively colours was employed for Private Members Club. Moy's objective was to create a vibrant environment.

What are your all-time favourite materials and colours to include in a space?

I adore using wood because it has a cosier feel. Wood is a great choice for any project, including busy F&B and office spaces. Lately, I developed an obsession for rare and coloured marble. It’s difficult to convince clients sometimes but luckily we have some amazing clients that trust us and are accepting of all our ideas. I tend to favour neutral and pastel colours while choosing colours. I adore the colours green and blue in a room, and maroon may also give interiors a classy appearance. Naturally, it depends on the project and the demands of the client, but accessories are the main way we introduce colour.

Tell us a technique you always try to use in interiors and something you always try to avoid?

Most of my interiors are vivid and calming at the same time, which is a difficult combination to strike. I always strive to use pastel colour and neutral tones. If I'm working on the interiors of a house, it's essential that I fully comprehend the client and dig deeper to get to know them.

When working on F&B projects, I have to be aware of the experience I want to create in order to balance the taste and visual senses. I try to avoid combining too many distinct materials, mixing bright hues and various colours in the same place, and causing chaos. I adore seeing wonderful interiors where a designer subtly blends materials while utilising only a few colours and various tones to create an attractive appearance.

How would you describe your design aesthetics, and how do you plan to cater to the desires of GCC audiences with traditional demands and a modern touch, given that you will be servicing expats from around the world?

I enjoy designing modern elegant spaces with neutral colour tones, that will bring people together and improve their overall experiences. However, I also enjoy a good challenge and getting projects that require me to come up with something original and louder, like the latest Private Members Club project we worked on. I believe that a designer should have their own identity, but that when they move outside of that to create something

somewhat different, they can still leave their mark that is distinct and seamlessly blends in.

I have a strong understanding of the local culture and I am skilled at fusing traditional and modern styles, which is very fashionable in Dubai.

What are the challenges and highlights of working with clients from the GCC?

The biggest challenge is timeline; clients wait until

the last minute to hire an interior consultant and then we are squeezed with timelines. This can affect the design and quality – things that I never want to compromise on. As the owner, quality is very essential to me, and the technical side of every detail needs to be taken into account during the design phase. People are coming from different backgrounds and each client comes with a different challenge, very

often it’s a positive challenge and I learn something new. I enjoy working with different cultures and getting to know more about the history and exploring ways to tie it into concept design.

Could you tell us something about your current project?

The team and I are currently working on a 400sqm Townhouse renovation, it’s for a lovely family of five and it’s been a pleasure to design for them. They

wanted a mix of bohemian and modern styles, a cozy, warm and welcoming home to unwind and gather as a family. This is why I enjoy my business, and I wanted to work with individual clients on their homes, offices, and restaurants to provide a more personalised service. It makes me happy to be able to provide them with their ideal environment and to see their joy and gratitude.

As you think about the future, where do you see yourself and Moy, especially in terms of commissions and direction?

We need to extend our footprint in the GCC currently because we are new to the market, and I want us to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects. The European market is also part of our long-term strategy, and I'm looking forward to that chapter.

My current objective for Moy is to grow the team and employ more outstanding designers to take the company to the next level. My personal goal is to run the company, create and maintain customer relationships, collaborate with the design team, and ensure quality is met. I'd also like to invest in my employees, learn about their goals, help them by delivering sponsored programmes, and make sure they're happy at work. This is very important to me since we spend so much time at work, and I believe that when we are happy, we perform better and are more motivated.

iGUZZINI

iGuzzini is an international community dedicated to architecture and the advancement of lighting culture. It is committed to social innovation through lighting, which it pursues through design and a deeply ingrained light culture, with a special emphasis on connectivity and sustainability.

At iGuzzini, design is the common thread that connects the work of great masters such as Gio Ponti from the 1960s to the most recent solutions for architectural lighting and contemporary living spaces.

Founded in 1959, the company operates in more than 20 countries, across five continents. iGuzzini’s Head Office in the Middle East, strategically located in Dubai, opened in 2008.

The Middle East Hub has since significantly expanded its presence in the region, thanks to the opening of offices in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey, as well as in the Eastern Mediterranean, South Caucasian, and English Speaking African Territories, to secure a strong presence in high growth areas and provide a full range of pre and post sales services from project conception to completion, including technical product information, design support,

and providing consultation on lighting techniques, both in the design phase and as an aftersales service, and marketing services.

Cristiano Venturini, CEO of iGuzzini, discusses the brand's contribution to the lighting industry: “We are recognised as a centre of excellence dedicated to the study of light in its various forms, and an active part in the development of a culture of light. Pioneers of intelligent light, we develop and apply solutions which, thanks to connectivity, improve the relationship between people, architecture and spaces, and help protect the environment. At iGuzzini, design is the leitmotif that from the 1960s to today unites the work of great masters such as Gio Ponti up to the latest solutions for architectural lighting and for places of contemporary living. For us it means beauty and formal research, but also technological and application innovation, reliability and

performance to continuously improve the experience of designers and end users. A discipline that we have always practiced by collaborating with leading designers on the international scene and with icons such as Renzo Piano, Gae Aulenti, Michele De Lucchi, Ron Arad and Jean-Michel Wilmotte.”

Venturini describes the evolution of the company over time. He says: “As a company involved in lighting since 1959, we draw on our history and incredible heritage. iGuzzini’s path is dotted with icons designed by authors who have made the history of Design and who today are more relevant than ever. Our work with designers and architects is based on synergies, complicity and the sharing of design knowhow and interconnections. Sixty years ago, we grasped the importance of this close working relationship that has become our hallmark. It is the driving force behind our incredibly

successful path that is now packed with awards and commendations.”

Richard Holmes, Regional Director -Middle East & English Speaking Africa at iGuzzini Middle East, shares his thoughts: “We are working together with other influential companies, professional design practices, and architectural firms to ensure that good quality lit effects are pushed, promoted and implemented. We have to fight against the commercial realities of every market to make sure that people understand the importance

of good quality lighting. One thing. So commercial versus lit effects. This market is incredibly full of opportunities and fantastic architectural projects, however, there’s a need to educate all actors involved about the importance of good quality lighting, which is affecting not only the aesthetic result but our social and individual well-being. We’re committed to social innovation through lighting, which we pursue through design and a deep-rooted culture of light, with a particular emphasis on connectivity and sustainability. Holmes goes on to discuss

how the future of the industry is dependent on technology. He explains: “The future of our industry will very much depend upon technology but not technology of products, technology that we use to enhance services. So artificial intelligence is a big topic but artificial intelligence is something that we need to embrace but we take control of because artificial intelligence should be implemented intelligently not artificially otherwise we end up in a situation where the tail is wagging the dog and the best kitchen in the world has all methods of cooking from a microwave trough to traditional sources so we need to make sure we use artificial intelligence to our advantage not get so excited about new technologies that it takes over what we are doing which is dangerous.”

Venturini feels that it is critical for iGuzzini to avoid getting drawn into a pricing war with other competitors as the acceptance of quality reduces in the market.

He says: “As early as the 1980s, we began to make society aware of how advanced light contributes to the well-being of the planet

and all living forms. Today, it’s called Sustainability. This is why we invest approximately 6% of our yearly turnover in research and development, to create innovative energy-efficient, durable, technologically advanced and eco-friendly materials, industrial processes, and behaviours, to minimise our impact on the ecosystem. What we should do is continue to push for quality lighting solutions because we recognize the benefit of that long term so our goal is to remain as a professional organisation integrated into local communities, investing in local communities to develop a skill set and educate people as to what good quality lighting is so subsequently we can stand ourselves aside from everybody and retain the customer service experience that people would expect from a premium brand and I guess the last thing we could say is we draw joining forces with our partners in the Fagerhult group to collaborate and ensure that together we promote good quality lighting solutions in the most sustainable environmentally friendly way considering all of the drivers of the

AT LIGHT LINK WE’VE BEEN A BIG ADVOCATE OF HUMAN CENTRIC LIGHTING AND SMART LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR SOME TIME, AND WE’D LIKE TO SEE MORE UPTAKE WITH SUCH TECHNOLOGIES ON PROJECTS MOVING FORWARD.

LIGHT LINK

Founder and director

Originally from a design background, Jaspal is passionate about creating an impact through lighting, so that it becomes a powerful attribute in any space. His career direction evolved to incorporate sales, when he spent several years driving business development while maintaining excellent relationships with clients

Light Link, an independent lighting design and supply firm, is celebrating a momentous milestone as it approaches its fifth year of operation. Since its establishment in 2019, the firm has seen extraordinary year-on-year growth, cementing its place as a key player in the region's lighting market. With a dedicated team of over 25 talented professionals, Light Link has consistently proven its prowess in delivering cutting-edge lighting solutions to diverse clientele across the GCC.

The secret behind Light Link's success lies in its unwavering commitment to excellence, creativity, and customer satisfaction. From their headquarters in Dubai, the company has rapidly expanded its reach and influence, earning a reputation for excellence in both commercial, hospitality, and residential projects.

One of Light Link's finest achievements has been its involvement in supplying lighting for the famous Museum of the Future display rooms. This achievement not only proves the company's capacity to tackle high-profile and technically hard projects, but it also demonstrates their commitment to collaborating with premier lighting and control suppliers.

Furthermore, Light Link has emerged as the preferred alternative for largescale commercial office complexes around the region. The business has left an unmistakable stamp on some of the most famous corporate spaces in the GCC, working with notable organisations such as Siemens, DMCC, and Pfizer. Light Link has offered lighting solutions for prestigious organisations such as Clifford Chance, JP Morgan, and White & Case, winning the trust and admiration of these blue-chip corporations.

As the company's reputation increased, so did its ambitions. Light Link has smoothly expanded its scope beyond traditional lighting projects by transitioning into new verticals. Notably, they have offered culinary talents to many Hero Donuts locations, bringing a flavourful touch to the retail environment.

Behind every achievement lies a dedicated and passionate team, and Light Link is no exception. The company's founder and visionary leader, Jaspal Bal has been instrumental in steering the ship towards greatness. Under Jas' guidance, the team at Light Link has cultivated a culture of creativity, collaboration, and constant innovation. This has resulted in an unparalleled synergy within the company, allowing them to stay ahead of industry trends and exceed the expectations of their valued clients.

Looking ahead, Light Link is wellpositioned to continue its upward trajectory, fuelled by a solid foundation of successful projects, a growing workforce, and a dedication to quality. The company is looking to expand into new markets, both in the UAE and beyond. Furthermore, they intend to use the most recent advances in lighting technology, sustainability, and energy efficiency to deliver even more cutting-edge solutions.

As Light Link celebrates its 5th anniversary, the company reflects on the journey that brought them to this point. They are grateful for the trust their clients have placed in them and the partnerships forged along the way. With the unwavering support of their clients, partners, and dedicated team, Light Link is ready to embrace the future, illuminating spaces and lives with their unparalleled brilliance.

Jaspal Bal, Founder of Light Link, shares: “At Light Link we’ve been a big advocate of Human Centric Lighting (HCL) and Smart

Lighting Control Systems for some time, and we’d like to see more uptake with such technologies on projects moving forward - Humans are affected by light not only on a visual level, but also on a biological one. When installing a Human Centric Lighting solution (HCL), you reinforce your circadian rhythm, enhancing your cognitive skills and sense of wellbeing. You perform better, you sleep better, you feel better.”

Bal continues: “We can combine tuneable light fittings to a smart control system, that can be synced with the celestial clock and/ or utilise the amount of daylight in spaces to adjust the artificial lighting output,

maintaining a consistent and correct level of both light output and colour temperature to ensure a balanced and comfortable environment for users. However, there is a stigma attached to the perceived cost of such solutions, which we need to remove through education and upscaling our client’s knowledge on the benefits of such systems. We often see lighting control packages targeted for ‘VE savings’, either being downscaled or completely removed, in turn removing numerous levels of function and comfort of the end-user, it is no longer purely an energy saving tool, it is far more important.”

ERCO

ERCO is a renowned international architectural lighting specialist, providing extremely precise and efficient LED lighting solutions to architectural environments across the world. Our specialist in Lüdenscheid manages all aspects of design, development, production, and assembly under one roof, allowing us to ensure the greatest precision and quality of our lighting tools.

The brand understands light as the fourth dimension of architecture, providing highly precise and efficient lighting solutions to support creative designers in turning their visions into reality.

The light should only be applied where it is needed. By applying the language of light principles and understanding the activities and usage of the space, ERCO believes it will elevate the end-user comfort and experience, all while enhancing the architectural design of the space.

Through their technological competence, ERCO approaches sustainability projects. They develop products that provide the same amount of light as other manufacturers but using less energy through continuous inventive research and development. This allows projects to use fewer luminaires while producing the same or even more light.

ERCO believes that both efficacy and effectiveness are important for sustainability. Efficacy is the amount of light emitted from a luminaire (lm/W), while effectiveness is the amount of light that reaches the target surface (lx/W). ERCO believes that it is important to consider both efficacy and effectiveness when selecting lighting products, as focusing on efficacy alone can lead to missed opportunities for energy savings.

Global material shortages and interruptions in logistics are also important concerns. ERCO formerly had to source supplies from multiple sites. As a result, they were sensitive to material shortages. They have, however, subsequently centralised their production to a single location. This has increased their independence from material shortages and lowered the amount of transportwation energy they need.

Interchangeable accessories, like lenses and tracks, are also used by the lighting industry. This assists them in reducing material waste and resource use. For example, if a customer has to replace the lens on a luminaire, they can simply buy a new lens rather than replace the complete luminaire.

Due to the digital transformation of the lighting industry, installing effective and energy-efficient lighting will be a prominent topic as buildings undergo renovations to satisfy green building requirements and legislative restrictions on fluorescent lighting. ERCO has been investing in R&D to generate more efficient products. They have created solutions in recent years that are more efficient at delivering light to target areas, resulting in significant energy savings for their clients.

The brand has received numerous awards, including the Light Middle East Awards 2023, the iF Design Awards, and others.

A True Star

Maximilian Missoni, Polestar's Head of Design, discusses his professional journey, building sustainable electric cars, and the creative process that results in a star car.

What is the most attractive thing about the automobile design community?

It's funny because it's such a large industry, yet for a long time we have been a small, close-knit community of designers. We’ve always attended the same activities and events, and people know each other or have a familiarity. But that’s all changed in recent years; the explosion of new electric brands coming out of China – of which many are design focused – means the whole thing is expanding a lot, and for me that’s really exciting.

What are your main responsibilities and challenges as a designer at Polestar?

Can you provide us with a brief overview of your experience, your expertise and your design perspective?

I am originally from Austria, where I began my studies, before moving to London when I enrolled at The Royal College of Art. While there I was noticed by Volkswagen Group and completed an internship in Wolfsburg, which led to a full time position with the brand. After this I moved to Sweden when I became Head of Exterior Design at Volvo Cars, and when Polestar was established I continued in this role alongside Head of Design for Polestar, before concentrating solely on Polestar design and the 65+ strong team I now lead here.

Automobiles are incredibly sophisticated pieces of machinery. The automobile, in my opinion, is the most industrially created product. There are thousands of parts and it’s not just the visible parts that must be designed. We have to take into account legal considerations, ergonomics, and of course safety. Because of all the dynamic costumes that exist on a vehicle, these requirements are higher than for any consumer product in general. So, in many ways we are constrained in terms of what we can accomplish, but through creativity we can still innovate. This is without a doubt the most difficult aspect of our profession. As designers, we can make almost anything desirable. We train for decades to be able to attract people and make a couple of tonnes of steel, glass, and plastic incredibly appealing, but that obligation comes with the responsibility of using that power on the proper things. As a result, we are concentrating our efforts on incorporating sustainability into new approaches, processes, and materials. My personal goal is to transform these things that are far better for society and the environment into desirable items.

design-middleeast.com
Interview

Can you describe what the creative process was in designing these fantastic models?

We are a performance brand originating from Volvo, which served as our foundation. The objective here was to establish a brand that is really premium and highly performance-oriented in solely electric vehicles, and we've been on a journey. From Polestar 1, which is sold out and now something of an exclusive collectors item, through Polestar 2, a performance fastback with

mass appeal, to the Polestar 3 SUV and Polestar 4 Coupe SUVs which will soon be in showrooms around the world.

And now behind me you also see Polestar Precept, which will enter production as Polestar 5, and the Polestar Electric Roadster Concept which will be sold as Polestar 6 our new halo electric sportscar. Over the last few years we’ve had a lot of fun creating these exciting products while always focusing on sustainability measures. >>>

Polestar showcased their entire future line-up of electric vehicles on stage in Abu Dhabi in May for the first time.

What are some of the unique elements you are working on?

Because of electrification, the interior of the car is becoming a focal point. And that's a strange link, but electrification and the configuration and mechanical layout of electric cars provides more room to explore this and shift proportions. As we move into an era of greater driver assistance, and the possibility of autonomous driving, we can push this even further.

Interiors are becoming increasingly comfortable, with reclinable seats in the second row providing a lounge environment. Light is quite crucial. We work with direct light, indirect light, and light passing through surfaces. If legislation ever allows the industry to reach full autonomy in cars, which is known as level 5, you may not even need a steering wheel –which would really open up some exciting possibilities.

Discuss the materials you are working with.

Vegan interiors is something of a buzzword in the industry right now – so many cars are marketed as having a vegan interior. And of course the first thing that springs to mind is “Oh, we’re no longer using leather”. And maybe the people who are actually vegan like that, but if you take a step further that means many of these interiors are made up of PVC or plastics. So we asked, how can we turn such a material into something that is a little more tactile and pleasing to touch, but also much more sustainable too. So, in collaboration with our suppliers, we converted the fossil component in plastic, crude oil, into pine oil derived from pine trees. So the material feels and looks similar to the plastics and PVC based alternatives, but is far more sustainable. That's one. The other material that everyone in the high-performance vehicle

sphere loves is carbon fibre. Now, carbon fibre is extraordinarily light and extremely stiff. But in Polestar Precept we introduced a new flax fibre material, known as BComp, which uses natural flax in its makeup but behaves just like regular carbon fibre in

Polestar is determined to improve society, using design and technology to accelerate the change to sustainable, electric mobility. Attention to detail is an integral part of designing.

terms of rigidity and weight but allows us to remove around 40% of the virgin plastics from a vehicle interior. We even celebrated the technical ‘weave’ of this bio based material, just like you would see on traditional carbon fibre, with some backlighting to really bring it to life.

And then I suppose I should add leather to this list. We believe you can use leather in a new and exciting way, and that if you choose the right leather it can be a sustainable material as well. If you eat meat for example, leather is a bi-product of that industry, and if you choose suppliers like we have in Bridge of Weir, who ensure their farms are Animal Welfare Certified, then the leather is both sustainably and responsibly sourced, but also a fantastic material to use in cars.

So, as a designer, where do you see the industry in the next five years?

The biggest thing in car design right now is to be sustainable. But so far it feels like the industry has done plenty of talking, without necessarily producing the results. Right now the

"The biggest thing in car design right now is to be sustainable. But so far it feels like the industry has done plenty of talking, without necessarily producing the results. Right now the world is under threat from rising CO2 levels, and we as designers have to act now to change that by offering sustainable products that are truly desirable to the modern consumer.”

world is under threat from rising CO2 levels, and we as designers have to act now to change that by offering sustainable products that are truly desirable to the modern consumer.

We are aware of this. So, circularity means that anything we take out stays in the loop. We're creating certain things with current materials, which means that the same material may be used for many purposes, including interiors. As a result, it can all be recycled endlessly. That is a pretty amazing undertaking and a very fascinating process, and we should work on this front.
