Argentina 0-2 Canada Canada beat Argentina tonight by 2-0 and qualified for the final of these Pan American Games in Toronto 2015. A masterful performance by Sean Cleary silenced the offensive from Argentina, which failed to find ways to score against the local pitcher. Canada was always closer to score, but the South American defense managed to keep the game with a low score, leaving open the chance for a late inning rally comeback. Canada threatened in the first inning, after two outs. Jeff Ellsworth walked, and was followed by Mullaley with a single to center field, putting runners in the corners. However Sebastian Gervasutti, the starter for Argentina, struck out Jason Hill to get out of the jam. In the second Canadian attack, the home side scored the first run of the game. Dereck Mayson and Ryan Boland hit back to back singles to open the inning, and the latter took second on the assistance, leaving runners on second and third. One out later Brandon Horn’s RBI single led the first run of the game. However, Gervasutti struck out Mathieu Roy and forced Brad Ezekiel to die with a fly to center field, minimizing the damage. In the third inning Canada scored the last run of the game. Ellsworth walked, and Jason Hill hit by the middle of the field, leaving runners on first

and third with one out. And Mayson produced the second run for his team, with his second hit of the afternoon. Meanwhile Cleary was brilliant from the circle.
