Tracy Prince, whose February 27th op-ed in The Oregonian (“Why Tillicum is the right name for TriMet’s new bridge”) was influential in naming the new TriMet bridge. The name chosen by the people of Portland is Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People. Elaine Wolfe Ankersen and Ron Sobel on their May 4th wedding, officiated by Rabbi and Cantor Cahana. The ceremony was held in their garden in Lake Oswego. Lara Schnoll and Brad Stern on their May 25th wedding, officiated by Rabbi and Cantor Cahana. The ceremony was held at the Allison Inn & Spa in Newberg, OR. Matt and Shaina Boal on the birth of their son, Ari Nathan, on April 24. Proud CBI grandparents are Leslie and Stephen Robinson.

Welcome, New Congregants! This April, Congregation Beth Israel was thrilled to welcome: Brigit and Joshua Hatch (who themselves welcomed baby Miles on May 10). Brigit is a family practice physician, and Joshua works for Brightworks doing sustainability consulting. Kimberly Schneiderman (formerly Palumbis), whose enthusiasm and voice are a staple of our monthly Tot Shabbat services, and her daughters, Sophia (12) and Sarah (10). The family of Evelyn Georges, who passed away on May 10. Mrs. Georges is survived by daughter and son-in-law Andra Georges and Tim Shepard, son and daughter-in-law Daniel Georges and Rumi Tsuda, son-in-law Jeff Gottfried, grandchildren Nick and Annie Shepard, Mori Georges and Benna and Miriam Gottfried.
