L’Dor V’Dor From Generation to Generation Mazel Tov to Steven Wilker of Tonkon Torp LLP, who was honored by The Best Lawyers in America as First Amendment Lawyer of the Year in Portland for his work defending civil liberties and requiring public records disclosures to improve government transparency and oversight. Only a single lawyer in each practice in each community is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year”. The ACLU of Oregon also honored Wilker in 2016 as one of three attorneys who had argued for the Oregon affiliate at the U.S. Supreme Court.

CBI Welcomes New Staff Linda Cohen escaped the sun and heat of
Phoenix, AZ and settled in Forest Grove this past August and joined us in mid-November as our new Finance Director. She spent the past 12 years of her professional career in the non-profit sector, most recently as the CFO of a women’s resource foundation and as the Director of Finance and Business Operations for a large domestic violence shelter. Prior to Arizona, she raised her family in California bay and worked for 14 years as the Business Manager of Yavneh Day School. Linda has 3 children, 3 grandchildren and is excitedly awaiting the birth of her grandson within the next few weeks. An avid gardener and hiker, she is looking forward to spending time outdoors without a bottle of sunscreen as a constant companion.

Chelsea Feguson has just joined
CBI from sunny southern California as the new Clergy Assistant. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Communications and spent many summers working for URJ Camp Newman as their Communication Coordinator. She has also worked in synagogues for many years as an educator and in youth engagement. Most recently Chelsea spent eight months living, working and traveling in southeast Asia and spent the summer organizing social action trips for teens in New Jersey and Costa Rica. She is excited to explore and live in Portland and is looking forward to joining the CBI family.
