am rarely at a loss for words.
yet there go I.
Those who know me personally, know I always have something to say, whether it be a word of encouragement for those in need, a word of Kingdom wisdom, a word of faith to edify, or a simple joke. Your girl always has something to say! But during the last few months, I entered what I like to think of as a season of God-ordained silence. One reminiscent of Luke 1, when the Angel Gabriel visited Zachariah and prophesied to him that he was going to have a son in his old age. Zachariah doubted the prophecy, and in order for the prophecy to come to pass, the Angel forcefully sentenced Zach to silence until his wife gave birth. He didn't want Zachariah's words to cancel the prophecy. Now, my situation is a little different than Zach's! Gabriel did not visit me. But there was a period where circumstances were so unfamiliar, that it forced me to be quiet and sit at the feet of my Savior. It is in that dwelling place, that cornerstone, that foundational truth that I understood that the unfamiliarity I felt was THE NEW THING He prophesied years ago. And for it to come to pass required increased capacity, to do things differently. During that period, I sought to find new ways to do old things. Attempting to put new wine in old wineskins while God waited for me to perceive the new thing. 5

There is a level of unnecessary stress we put ourselves under when we fail to believe that God is Sovereign and that our lives are perfectly orchestrated for the season we individually are in.

And that our steps are divinely ordered. As I look back at my life, I can see that every encounter, every job, every person God sent my way had purpose. Years ago, I worked as a columnist for various publications, both in print and digital form. I also worked as a nanny to twin girls, worked as a barista at a coffee shop, and at one point I even owned a styling agency. All those experiences , though seperate, led to this very moment.

There are so many stories, testimonies to be shared, and this digital publication will be the means by which we get those stories to you. Your fervent prayers were the eviction notice the enemy's lies needed to move out. May the seeds you sowed be returned a thousandfold. By God’s grace here we are at the start of a new season full of promise. At the start of a new year, chapter, or in this case season, many of us try to get back to the basics of living a healthy lifestyle. The question is how do we stay consistent with something that feels like a chore? To answer that question I like to remember that the body that God has given me is something that He created just for me. It is His gift to me. He thought enough of me to make me an original. A classic. I am one of one. You are too. So when I think about living a healthy lifestyle it is very easy for me to lean into the idea that eating healthy meals and working out is one way to be a good steward over this precious gift.
I also think a lot about generational health. Passing down a legacy of health to my children, that breaks many other health-related curses. I want them to see me walking the walk,
I believe that's every parent's wish.

and instructor, health is a constant journey. It's something I have to constantly keep in my prayers. I often pray: "Jesus, we both know my heart and mind are not in this today. Please give me the strength to put on these running shoes" My prayer is often followed by that old hymn the elders used to sing: “I’m running for my life…” Because I literally am, it takes a certain mindset to pursue health, and in order to do that, my mind has to be right. Many of us completed the Daniel Fast at the beginning of the year, and I love the purpose behind the fast. But what happens after the fast.
