Cheatingisdenedaslookingatanother’sworkwithouttheteacher’spermission,orcommunicatingwith anotherduringanexamwithouttheteacher’spermission.

Plagiarismisdenedasusinganother’sworkwithoutthankingthemfortheuse.

Ifeithercheatingorplagiarismisnoticed,theassignmentorexamwillimmediatelyreceiveascoreof0and parentswillbenotied AsecondcheatingorplagiarisminfractionwillresultinaDisciplinaryHearing

UNIFORMVIOLATION

IfaUniformPolicyviolationisidentied,aClassReachformwillbecompletedbythefacultymember. EXCESSIVEOFFICEVISITS

Asnotedabove,thepurposeoftheDisciplinePolicyistoshapegodlycharacterinthestudent. Ifitbecomes apparenttotheHeadofSchoolthatthestudent’scharacterisnotimprovingovertimeand/orisbecoming worsetothedetrimentoftheschoolculture,theHeadofSchoolwillmeetwiththeparentsandtheywillcome upwithaplantoresolvetheissue TheHeadofSchoolwillalsomeetwiththeparentsincaseswherethe studentexhibitsalackofrepentanceorlacks interestinattendingCoramDeoAcademy. TheHeadofSchool may,athisdiscretion,allowforadditionalmeetingswiththeparentsifthepreviousDisciplinePlantohelpthe studentwasunsuccessful. Tohelptheparentsunderstandtheirchild’sbehavior,theymayberequiredtosit withthestudentduringapartoralloftheschoolday. IftheHeadofSchoolhasdeterminedthatthestudent’swordsorbehaviorconstituteaSeriousDisciplineCase, thestudentwillbesubjecttoaDisciplineHearingbeforeadesignatedDisciplineCouncilthatincludes,butis notlimitedto: theHeadofSchool,anEducationCouncilmember,andatleastoneElder(foraminimumof threemembers). Parentsandthestudent(ifageappropriate)willbepresentattheDisciplineHearing. Atthis point,theDisciplineCouncilwilldeterminethenecessarycourseofaction,whichmayincludesuspensionor expulsionofthestudent. Tuitionwillnotbereimbursedforsuspensionsorexpulsions.
