EY and PY Wai Kru Ceremonies
On September 26th, 2024, Concordian celebrated another year of beautiful, special, and heartfelt Wai Kru Teacher Appreciation Ceremonies.
Through paying respect to their teachers, students expressed their gratitude and love. The EY and PY teachers, in return, sent their best wishes to their students.
This ceremony was especially meaningful as we embark on a new school year, fostering trust and respect between teachers and students.
The fragrance of jasmine flowers, the significance of dok-khem flowers, the soothing music, and the sight of humble students kneeling down on the floor all gently touched our hearts.
Students in the Thai instrument band, and those who performed the Thai dance beautifully demonstrated Thai culture. Our G5 student MCs, the poem reader and the officiant who led the student oath all did a remarkable job. We couldn’t be more proud of the time and effort they spent rehearsing to present such an amazing event.

Secondary Wai Kru Ceremony
Wai Kru is an annual, heartfelt ceremony at Concordian International School. Each academic year, the Thai Department organizes the Wai Kru Ceremony to emphasize the importance of education and the role of teachers, staff, and administrators.
Prior to the ceremony, MYP/DP students learned the song Phra Khun Tee Sam (The Third Gratitude), a significant song they sing together annually during the school's Wai Kru Ceremony.
Additionally, students collaborated to create paan (decorative trays), which included flower arrangements and incense candles. Two outstanding awards were given to the Grade 6-8 and Grade 9-10 houses for the best trays, contributing to house color points.
Learning the value and importance of the Wai Kru Ceremony, whether through classroom lessons or extracurricular activities, plays a key role in shaping Concordian students into well-rounded individuals.
This tradition strengthens the school community by uniting students and teachers in a shared expression of gratitude. When students reflect on their teachers' influence on their learning and personal growth, they develop a greater sense of responsibility and appreciation.
