El Departamento de Agricultura y Desarrollo de Recursos de Manitoba acaba de publicar un nuevo video sobre el Programa de Bienestar Animal en Manitoba para dar a conocer los servicios y programas que brindan. El bienestar animal simplemente significa cómo un animal se enfrenta a las condiciones en las que vive. Un animal se encuentra en buen estado de bienestar si está sano, cómodo, bien alimentado, seguro, capaz de expresar un comportamiento innato y si no sufre de estados desagradables como dolor, miedo y angustia.

¿Sabías que Manitoba es una de las primeras provincias de Canadá en modernizar su Ley de Cuidado Animal para garantizar la responsabilidad pública adecuada por los animales que se poseen, incluido un alojamiento adecuado, manejo, nutrición, atención médica responsable, manejo humanitario y, cuando sea necesario, eutanasia de manera humanitaria? El equipo de Bienestar Animal cuenta con un grupo de veterinarios, coordinadores y Oficiales de Protección Animal que brindan estas garantía en nuestra provincia.

ANIMAL WELFARE PROGRAM IN MANITOBA

The Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development department just published a new video about the Animal Welfare Program in Manitoba to raise awareness of the services and programs they provide. Animal welfare simply means how an animal is coping with the conditions in which it lives. An animal is in a good state of welfare if it is healthy, comfortable, well-nourished, safe, able to express innate behaviour, and if it is not suffering from unpleasant states such as pain, fear, and distress.

Did you know that Manitoba is one of the first provinces in Canada to modernize their Animal Care Act to ensure adequate public responsibility for the animals they own including proper housing, management, nutrition, responsible medical care, humane handling, and, when necessary, humane euthanasia? The Animal Welfare group has a team of veterinarians, coordinators and Animal Protection Officers that provides this assurance in our province.
