ARTE LATINA - En Homenaje al Bicentenario del Perú

Nuestra invitada en esta edición la Sra. Carmen R. Zelaya, artista plástica peruana, nos hace llegar aquí sus impresiones sobre esta ciudad, desde su primer contacto con Winnipeg en 2011, como invitada en el Consulado Honorario del Perú, lo que le abrio las puertas en 2013 a su segunda exposición titulada: Peruvian Reflexion en la Biblioteca Millenium, desde entonces ella nos ha venido prestigiando en varias ocasiones, con su Arte y talento artístico innato. Tornándose así en una digna representante de la cultura latinoamericana en esta ciudad.

Our guest in this edition Mrs. Carmen R. Zelaya, Peruvian plastic artist, gives us here her impressions of this city, since her first contact with Winnipeg in 2011, as a guest at the Honorary Consulate of Peru, which opened the doors in 2013 to her second exhibition entitled: Peruvian Reflection at the Millennium Library, since then she has been giving us prestige frequently, with her art and innate artistic talent. Thus becoming a worthy representative of Latin America culture in this city.

Como Artista plástica, he tenido el inmenso privilegio de exponer mi trabajo fuera de mi país, y fue así mi primer contacto con Canadá, en mi primera exhibición en Winnipeg en 2011, desde entonces me enamoré de esta bella ciudad y siempre fui recibida de brazos abiertos por parte de la comunidad latina en Winnipeg y Toronto. >>> Exposición en la Galeria Millennium de Winnipeg.

Sabemos que tu talento va más allá del lienzo y los pinceles, cuéntanos un poco sobre tu carrera artística y tus técnicas artísticas.

Soy una amante del arte en todas sus expresiones, danza, música, pintura, artesanía y diseño de moda. Creo que todo lo que haces con amor es arte. Como pintora, me encanta plasmar en mis cuadros las costumbres autóctonas de mi país Perú, o simplemente la exuberancia de los paisajes, elaborados usando diversas técnicas, en óleo, acrílico o acuarela.

¿Qué es lo que más le ha impresionado de Winnipeg?

En Winnipeg hay espacio para todas las expresiones artísticas y somos bien recibidos, es por eso que Winnipeg honra el título de ser una ciudad multicultural.

En cada visita he conocido personas maravillosas de diversos países y pude participar de sus actividades culturales, bailar y cantar con ellas y en cada encuentro mi corazón se llena de inspiración.

¿Le gustaría dejar un mensaje a otros artistas y a sus amigos de Winnipeg?

Espero que otros artistas continúen viniendo a mostrar sus trabajos. Yo espero verlos nuevamente y que podamos disfrutar de mas eventos culturales juntos en esta linda ciudad de Winnipeg.

As a visual artist, I have had the immense privilege of exhibiting my work outside my country, and that was my first contact with Canada, in my first exhibition in Winnipeg in 2011, since then I fell in love with this beautiful city and I was always received with open arms by the Latino community in Winnipeg and Toronto. >>> Exhibition at the Millenium Gallery in Winnipeg.

We know your talents go beyond the canvas and brushes. Tell us a little about your artistic career and artistic techniques.

I am a lover of art in all its expressions, dance, music, painting, crafts and fashion design. I believe that everything you do with love is art. As a painter, I love to capture in my paintings the native customs of my country Peru, or simply the exuberance of the landscapes, elaborated using different techniques, in oil, acrylic or watercolour.

What impressed you most about Winnipeg?

In Winnipeg there is room for all artistic expressions and we are well received, that is why Winnipeg honors the title of being a multicultural city.

On each visit, I have met wonderful people from different countries and have been able to take part in their cultural activities, dance and sing with them and each time I have met them, my heart is filled with inspiration.

Would you like to leave a message for other artists and your friends in Winnipeg?

I hope that other artists will continue to come and show their work. I hope to see you again and that we can enjoy more cultural events together in this beautiful city of Winnipeg.
