NMC today looks a little different than it did earlier this year. We’ve introduced a streamlined leadership structure that further unifies Netwatch and NMC. "My team is the bridge between the dealers and our operation," Martinez explains. "We want to walk them through NMC's tools step by step until they're comfortable." In practice, that means every dealer has a guide inside NMC who understands their business, anticipates their challenges, and connects them with the right expertise at the right time.

One of the most significant shifts in partner success is how feedback drives development. Instead of waiting for you to adapt, we're shaping our tools and services based on your input.

"A lot of our features come from the feedback of our dealers," says Martinez. "We monitor everything that comes through to see trends and act on them. When we notice more subscriber service requests, for example, we bring in the right people to focus on and fix those issues. That builds trust, and it makes our platforms more intuitive."

SHAPING THE FUTURE WITH VISION From a temporary gig to a lasting calling, Paula Martinez built her career at NMC by turning compassion, curiosity, and problem-solving into meaningful support for partners and their customers.

When Paula Martinez joined NMC in her early twenties, it was supposed to be a temporary stop on her path to a nursing career. But it quickly transitioned into something more.

"I was so appreciative of my first role at NMC," she recalls. "They were flexible with my school schedule, but I didn’t expect it to be a long-term position for me. Over time, the work started to mean more to me.

I could see the positive impact it had on a broader scale and wanted to be part of making a difference to our partners and their customers."

It wasn’t a single project or task that made her feel at home, but the feeling that her work was making a meaningful difference.

One moment in particular stayed with her. A young child, home alone and convinced someone was breaking in, called for help. Paula followed her training, kept the child calm, and stayed on the line until responders arrived. "That moment stuck with me," she says. "It made me realize I wanted to stay and grow here."

Paula’s career at the company has been defined by curiosity, versatility, and a drive to find where she could make the greatest impact. After gaining valuable experience across several departments, she discovered her stride within Dealer Support, where her natural ability to build relationships and solve problems was evident.

In 2022, she took on the role of Dealer Success Specialist, a position that allowed her to partner closely with dealers nationwide. Today, Paula is recognized for her deep product and process knowledge and her unwavering commitment to helping dealers thrive.

"I've worked with amazing dealers across the country," Paula says. "Seeing their wins, and knowing NMC played a part, has been incredibly rewarding."

Paula now leads a group of Partner Success Specialists. Her vision is to guide every partner from intake and onboarding through adoption, engagement, and retention.

Her role is designed to elevate the dealer experience across the entire lifecycle. It’s about building and leading a new team to transform how NMC partners are supported. "To me, partner success means truly supporting a partner and their organization in a way that helps them grow and thrive," she says. "Their success is my success, and that's what drives me."

Her team's responsibilities span training, issue resolution, vendor collaboration, and proactive outreach. They practice what Paula calls 'hypercare': weekly or monthly check-ins, escalations when needed, and transparent communication about what can and can't be done.

"We always turn a negative into a positive," she says. "If I can't do one thing, I'll find what I can do, and make sure it brings value."

By capturing data and trends, her team also provides insight that helps NMC improve its platforms. Dealer feedback has already led to new features in Nexus and NexusTech, ensuring that partners' voices shape the technology they rely on.

Paula's impact isn't limited to partner-facing work.

As part of NMC's Ambassador Program, Paula creates initiatives that bring employees together across all offices. From wellness challenges and holiday-themed contests, Paula and her fellow ambassadors build culture with intention.

"We want to make sure everyone feels connected — whether in California, Texas, or working remotely," she says.

Paula sees herself as part of a larger mission and is working to help grow the next generation of security and monitoring industry leaders. She points out NMC's open-door culture, where managers encourage employees to join strategy calls, share feedback, and learn directly from leadership. "I have always felt supported by mentors here," she says. "Now I want to make sure others have the same opportunities.

Paula's guidance to anyone looking to enter the industry is as practical as it is empowering: "Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Don't be afraid to take on things that feel a little out of reach; that's where the real growth happens."

She encourages those interested in a career in security to lean into the resources around them: tools, learning assets, mentors, and peers.

"When an opportunity comes your way, even if it's new or unfamiliar, don't say no," she says. "This industry has so much potential, and while the path forward isn't always clear, that's exactly what makes it exciting. You have the chance to leave your mark."

As she steps into Partner Success, Paula brings with her the empathy of a frontline responder, the rigor of an operator, and the perspective of a builder who knows how cultural strength fuels business results.

"Backed by a dedicated team," Paula says, "we're committed to elevating the dealer experience and driving success across the entire organization."

UNLOCKING WHAT’S NEXT NMC has always been focused on innovation, continually looking for ways to help dealers operate more efficiently and deliver exceptional service. When the company introduced Nexus, it set out to create a centralized portal that could deliver new levels of business intelligence, increased productivity, reduced liability, and better service. With easy-to-read dashboards, real-time reporting, and tools designed to simplify complex processes, Nexus quickly became a platform that positions dealers for long-term success.

Now, we’re excited to introduce Nexus 2.0. The platform’s update brings a refreshed take on Nexus, including a new way to update alarms, quick data tabs, and automated tools that prevent dispatch on false alarms.

“The launch of Nexus 2.0 takes our foundation and makes it even stronger,” said Todd Shuff, Vice President of Operations, NMC. “This release is all about speed, visibility, and control. The updates give your business more ways to stay on top of accounts while making the experience smoother for the end user.

Every improvement was designed with the realities of operations in mind, turning time-consuming tasks into reliable processes — ensuring customers exeprience better service and stronger peace of mind.”

Alarm management will always be at the core of what NMC does, but we’ve made some improvements. Now, updates are faster and more accurate thanks to the new Alarm Zone Summary, which lets you update all zones at once. This eliminates the need for time-consuming, manual, zone-by-zone changes and reduces the risk of errors.

A new reporting feature ensures system zones are tested correctly, with exportable reports that create a verifiable record for both technicians and customers. This added layer of accountability not only protects your business and your customers, but also streamlines workflows.

Information access has been completely reimagined in Nexus 2.0. The redesigned Quick Data Tabs make complex details easier to navigate, turning what used to feel overwhelming into a clean, intuitive view. Instead of wading through layers of raw data, you can move effortlessly between sections, identify what matters most, and share insights in real time. The result is faster navigation, quicker pattern recognition, and stronger decision-making in the field.

Ensuring control in critical moments has been another major focus of Nexus 2.0. You now have the ability to cancel a dispatch instantly through automated tools built into the platform. In the case of a false alarm, this prevents unnecessary emergency responses that can be costly, disruptive, and damaging to customer trust.

We are also introducing contact-level notifications, allowing personalized alerts for every individual tied to an account. This means the right people get the right information at the right time, whether it’s a property manager who needs testing updates or an owner who needs immediate incident alerts.

Partner-specific dropdown menus take customization further. Instead of wading through irrelevant options, you’ll see event codes, site types, and system types tailored to your operation.

It’s another way Nexus adapts to you, not the other way around.
