The Marina Casa de Campo is set on 90,000 square meters of land where the Chavón River meets the Caribbean Sea. One of the Dominican Republic’s most upscale marinas, La Marina, as it’s known by locals, is close to a multitude of scenic sea destinations, such as Catalina Island, Saona Island and Palmilla, a natural swimming pool, as well as waters ripe for sport fishing that have earned an appearance in the annual Billfish Report since 2013.

At the heart of The Marina is the beautiful Plaza Portofino. At the water’s edge, this plaza is home to five of the Marina’s finest restaurants and bars, making it a beautiful spot for lunch and dinner. The view is magnificent.

Paseo Del Mar

The Marina is a beautiful place for a stroll — and for that, there is no better route than up the Paseo del Mar to the lighthouse perched at the end. This is one of the best places to enjoy a tropical sunset or watch as yachts sail in and out all day. Along the Paseo del Mar, you will also find several businesses where you can buy and rent solar-powered golf carts in addition to the restaurant’s La Casita and SBG.

Plaza Portofino

Paseo Del Mar

La Marina es un hermoso lugar para dar un paseo, y para ello no hay mejor ruta que el Paseo del Mar hasta el faro que se encuentra al final. Este es uno de los mejores lugares para disfrutar de una puesta de sol tropical o ver yates entrar y salir todo el día. A lo largo del Paseo del Mar, también encontrarás varios negocios donde puedes comprar y alquilar carritos de golf con energía solar además de los restaurantes La Casita y SBG.

The Marina’s indoor shopping center is home to several businesses, such as banks, restaurants, stores and the cinema.

Day Trips

Options include Catalina Island, just a 30-minute ride away; Palmilla, a popular party spot with a natural swimming pool; and Saona Island, part of the “Parque Nacional del Este” nature reserve and the country’s most visited tourist destination.

Fishing

This area is one of the best places in the world for billfishing. From February to June, the most commonly caught fish are blue marlin, mahi mahi, yellowfin tuna, wahoo and sailfish.

The Calle Barlovento is The Marina’s primary shopping boulevard, where you will find boutique stores selling clothing, gifts, swimwear, sunglasses, cigars, jewelry, furniture and art, as well as a number of banks.

IBC SHIPYARD

Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (809) 449-3321. This 125,000-sq.-ft. shipyard is the largest in the Caribbean, with its own dry dock and a 120-ton travel lift.
