The OGSF file system is a plus in the HyFlex EDM files line up. We have the same extraordinary alloy in a 4 % taper system that will allow us to treat with ease the curved and long endodontic canals. We have some files who will preserve dentine and will in the same time give our disinfectant an access to the apex of the tooth.
Dr Antonis Chaniotis
A versatile file system can adapt to many clinical scenarios and increase instrumentation predictability. The new HyFlex EDM OGSF sequence has just arrived to make everyday endodontic challenges delightful to treat. Lovely conservative OGSF shapes and ease of use.

Dr Thomas Rieger
With just a few peckings, I reach the measured working length without any stops in between, so to speak. Previously, a file had to be inserted into the root canal several times. That is no longer necessary here! The OGSF sequence can be applied effortlessly even in difficult cases.
Dr Andreea O. C. Roşu
With COLTENE’s new HyFlex EDM OGSF sequence endodontic procedures becomes easier. Owing to the defined, easy-to-remember sequence, learning to use these files is relatively quick, and being intuitive, the sequence is easily recalled and repeated.

First time using the new HyFlex EDM OGSF file sequence from COLTENE and I’m blown away! The ease they provide during preparation is simply amazing. Love at first use!
Diagnosis
Irreversible pulpitis of tooth #27.
Challenge
Treatment of an upper posterior molar with restricted mouth opening.
Treatment
Anaesthesia, placement of dental dam and additional sealing with liquid dental dam.
First session: creating access cavity, probing and expanding of canals, determination of working lengths with apex locator, confirmation with x-ray.
Preparation of the affected canals with hand files up to size 20, followed by electrochemical irrigation protocol.
Placing of medical calcium hydroxide and temporary sealing with DuoTEMP.
Second session: actual preparation with CanalPro X-Move endo motor and HyFlex EDM OGSF sequence up to the F file (30/.04) for mesiobuccal, disto-buccal and palatal canals. Reaching of the working lengths with just a single pass.
Renewed electrochemical irrigation, sustainable drying with fewer HyFlex EDM paper points due to a particularly narrow endo suction cannula.
Obturation with HyFlex EDM guttapercha points, thermoplastic filling and final restoration with BRILLIANT EverGlow composite.
The HyFlex EDM OGSF sequence makes work immensely easier, and the files glide effortlessly through the canals.
Dr Friederike Listander
User Benefits
Clear File sequence: the file sequence is very clear with 4 files, and there are matching HyFlex EDM guttapercha points.
Quick Treatment: the file set has the advantage that no additional files need to be collected.
Increased Safety: increased safety for practitioners and patients thanks to the excellent break resistance of the files.
Ease of Preparation: the system makes preparation much easier.
Conclusion
Using a standardised NiTi file sequence such as HyFlex EDM OGSF, the majority of classic root canal treatments can be prepared quickly and reliably. Owing to the structured sequence of Opener, Glider, Shaper and Finisher files, practice teams and patients benefit from efficient and safe root canal treatment.
Referral patient with continuous pain after previously initiated root canal treatment.
Symptomatic apical periodontitis and extensive mesial caries in tooth #36.
Challenge
Risk that the tooth can’t be restored due to the extensive mesial caries and that it will have to be extracted after all.
Treatment
Placement of a rubber dam, glide path preparation with K-Flex files (sizes 06, 08, 10), and determination of the working lengths using an apex locator.
Cleaning and shaping with the HyFlex EDM OGSF file sequence and CanalPro X-Move motor.
Establishment of an effective glide path with the Opener and Glider, shaping of the root canal along its entire length with the Shaper, and preparation up to the 30/.04 Finisher with tactile-controlled activation.
Continuous irrigation with sodium hypochlorite solution throughout the entire treatment. After applying the master cone and drying with HyFlex EDM paper points, the canals were filled with calcium hydroxide paste and temporarily restored.
Second visit: obturation and coronal sealing with a direct permanent restoration.
HyFlex EDM OGSF files definitely know their way around curves, reducing the risk of ledging, transportation, or perforation. The defined treatment procedure simplifies preparation and shortens the learning curve.
