THE FIRST NOEL
The first Noel, the angels did say Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay; In fields where they lay keeping their sheep On a cold winter’s night that was so deep. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel.
They looked up and saw a star Shining in the east beyond them far; And to the earth it gave great light And so it continued both day and night. Noel, Noel…
And by the light of that same star
Three wise men came from country far; To seek for a King was their intent And to follow the star wherever it went.
Noel, Noel…
Then let us all with one accord Sing praises to our Heav’n’ly Lord That hath made Heav’n and earth of naught And with His blood mankind hath bought. Noel, Noel…
SING A MERRY CHRISTMAS
Frosty the Snowman
Frosty the Snowman was a jolly, happy soul
With a corn cob pipe and a button nose And two eyes made out of coal.
Frosty the Snowman is a fairy tale they say, He was made of snow but the children know How he came to lift one day.
There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found, For when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around.
Oh, Frosty the Snowman was alive as he could be
And the children say he could laugh and play just the same as you and me.
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Have yourself a merry little Christmas, l et your hearts be light;
From now on our troubles will be out of sight. Have yourself a merry little Christmas, make the Yuletide gay;
From now on our troubles will be far away.
Here we are as in olden days, happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us gather near to us once more.
Through the years we all will be together, if the fates allow;
Hang a shining star upon the highest bow, And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.
A Winter Wonderland
Sleigh bells ring, are you list’nin’?
In the lane, snow is glist’in’, A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight, Walkin’ in a winter wonderland.
Gone away is the blue bird, Here to stay is a new bird; He sings a love song as we go along Walkin’ in a winter wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman, Then pretend that he is Parson Brown; He’ll say “Are you married?”, we’ll say “No, man, But you can do the job when you’re in town!”
Later on, we’ll conspire
As we dream by the fire, To face unafraid the plans that we made, Walkin’ in a winter wonderland.
Here Comes Santa Claus
Here come Santa Claus! here comes Santa Claus
Right down Santa Claus Lane!
Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer Are pulling on the rein.
Bells are ringing, children singing, all is merry and bright;
Hang your stockings and say your prayers, ‘Cause Santa Claus comes tonight.
