Established in 1999, Colorado Mountain Club’s Youth Programs ignite a connection to the outdoors for Colorado youth, by providing opportunities for active learning through experiential and adventure education.
We inspire the next generation of leaders, recreationalists, and environmental stewards by fostering enthusiastic, self-aware learners who engage in their community and strive toward both collaborative and independent goals.
CMC Youth Programs caters to students from grades 1-12. Our overnight expeditions are resereved for middle and high school students. We serve a wide variety of community groups, organizations, and schools in the greater Denver area and beyond.
All of our highly qualified Youth Programs Staff are background checked and certified in Wilderness First Aid or above. We also have climbing instructors certified in Single Pitch Instructing through the American Mountain Guides Association overseeing all climbing safety and instruction.

Here at CMC Youth Programs, safety is our number one priority. Students are placed in small groups, and all safety guidelines, logistics, and activity planning are done in full collaboration with school administration Communication with schools and families is open and transparent, with sensitive topics such as sleeping arrangements, dietary restrictions, and medications handled with care.
CMC aims to make planning as simple as possible for school staff. We take care of reservations, permits, food preparation, the daily itinerary, and all other necessary logistics, because we know teachers already have their hands full Leading up to your trip, we dedicate meeting time with your team to ensure everyone understands the goals, expectations, and itinerary, creating a smooth and exciting experience for all participants.
During the trip, our CMC instructors deliver engaging and meaningful curriculum that challenges students both individually and as a team With our small group approach, instructors truly get to know your students, helping create shared experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.

Our Overnight Expeditions take students on unforgettable adventures throughout the magical places of Colorado and beyond These trips typically range from two to four nights and include organized activities each day such as rock climbing, sand boarding, and white water rafting, just to name a few. Lodging is fully customizable and can include backpacking, tent camping, or lodge style accommodations with access to a professional kitchen. Every itinerary is tailored to the season and the interests of your group, creating a memorable outdoor experience that fits your school’ s unique vision.
