Vehicle theft suspects apprehended after wild chase No bystanders or deputies were injured in the incident STAFF REPORT
Shortly after 6 p.m. on April 7, the registered owner of a stolen vehicle reported
being shot at by the suspects of the stolen vehicle, according to a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office press release. The shots were fired in the area of Highway 285 and Tiny Town. The vehicle, a flatbed pickup truck towing a trailer, was stolen earlier in the day from a commercial business located in
the 19000 block of Goddard Ranch Ct. The registered owner spotted the vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 285 near Surrey Drive around 6 p.m. He followed the vehicle onto South Turkey Creek Road to the area of Tiny Town, where the suspects fired multiple shots at the registered owner and short-
ly after, engaged in gunfire with a Sheriff’s deputy. Deputies pursued the vehicle northbound on Highway 285 past Parmalee Gulch Road and towards C470. Two deputies were staged on Highway 285 just north of Highway 8 to deploy stop sticks, but as the suspect vehicle approached, it drove off the right shoul-
der of Highway 285 onto an embankment towards Turkey Creek Road. The suspects fired multiple shots at the two deputies and we returned fire. The suspect vehicle lost its trailer at this time and continued onto Turkey Creek Road, traveling north. SEE CHASE, P2

Jefferson County Public Health, in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, is advising the public about a potential exposure to hepatitis A at the King Soopers located at 5301 W. 38th Ave. in Wheat Ridge. A food handler at this location has tested positive for hepatitis A, a disease which could be transmitted by eating food directly handled by this employee.
