Hundreds of hungry sushi fans gathered to watch four local chefs duke it out over raw salmon to benefit relief efforts for those fleeing the war in Ukraine. Competitors in the Colorado Chefs for Ukraine event sliced vegetables and fresh salmon and were judged on execution, technique, appearance and speed. Golden Mill Chef Jose Silva, also a trained sushi chef, tackles a giant yellow-fin tuna destined for sushi hand rolls. Hundreds of patrons gathered at the Golden Mill for Colorado Chefs for Ukraine, a culinary gathering to raise funds for World Central Kitchen. This nonprofit organization serves up millions of fresh meals to Ukrainian families fleeing their homes and those who have chosen to remain in the country.
