In the wake of a new state law requiring school districts in Colorado to allow for medical marijuana use by approved students, Littleton Public Schools is developing a policy guiding use. Affected students make up a very small subset of students suffering from chronic conditions, said Melissa Cooper, the district’s director of Special Education and Student Support Services. “I think it’s really important to consider the population of students we are dealing with here,” Cooper said while briefing the Board of Education on the policy at a Nov. 10 meeting.
