Community party of the finest

Thousands attend Lions’ Fourth celebration By Christy Steadman csteadman@coloradocommunitymedia.com The Golden Lions Club knows how to through a Fourth of July party. Thousands of people went to Lions Park in Golden on July 4 for the annual event. People played volleyball, threw Frisbees or footballs and children enjoyed free bounce houses. It was a community gathering at its finest. After all, everybody was there to celebrate the same thing, said Something Underground’s guitar and vocalist Seth Larson, which was Independence Day.

It would be roughly six acres on the far northwest corner of a 1,600-acre property that is currently primarily undeveloped. The closest residential area part of the City of Arvada is about 1.3 miles away, unincorporated Jefferson County residents are about a quarter of a mile away from the proposed area, said Tom Hoby, director of Jeffco Open Space.
