If you’re out and about on the weekend of Sep. 18 and happen to notice that our beautiful green hills are a little extra lovely, you’re welcome. You’re welcome to turn off of the beaten track and wander in wonder through the Artists of Evergreen’s 20th Annual Open Door Studios Tour, a free community-spanning gallery as immense as imagination and as intimate as a warm smile and a friendly handshake. Thirty-two of the mountain area’s finest fine artists will be laying out their Welcome mats from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sep. 18 and 19, inviting art lovers everywhere

OF THE MONTH to step inside their intimate ateliers, and sharing their professional passions, personal inspirations and creative secrets with their neighbors. As ever, this year’s Open Door Studios Tour is both a juried event and a delightfully informal glimpse at the fascinating methods behind the magic. You’re welcome to begin your tour on Friday evening, Sep. 17, at Evergreen National Bank on Main Street, where the Artists of Evergreen will be holding its always-popular Opening Reception with the Artists.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., reception guests can enjoy relaxed introductions to the artists, sketch out a preliminary weekend itinerary, and wash down a plate of hors d’oeuvres with a shade from the vintner’s palette or a glass of the brewer’s art. Come Saturday morning, you’re welcome to follow the bright yellow Open Door Studios signs flashing in the grass along boulevard and byway on your way to enlightening adventures in oil and acrylic, gold and glass, ceramic and stone.
