Georgetown’s long-discussed Strousse Park refresh project is finally in motion. The project, which has been in planning since at least 2019, will see the first round of work done this spring. The Georgetown Board of Selectmen approved modified plans for the park at a March 8 meeting. Bob Hamilton, a Design Review Commission member, said the town is purchasing a restroom for the park, which should be delivered early- to mid-April. Additionally, the concrete should be poured sometime this month, he said at the March 8 selectmen meeting. The town’s initial plans for the refresh project had a “rather steep price tag,” Hamilton said, of $1 million to $1.5 million. Since the architect submitted the project’s final plans last fall, Hamilton and colleagues from other town boards have tried to find ways to find a more affordable approach.
