New restaurant coming to Brighton this fall STAFF REPORT
The Brighton Economic Development Corp. and the city of Brighton announced the arrival of Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers last week. Construction began at 2203 Prairie Center Parkway in advance of an opening late this fall. “There has been a lot of anticipation of what business will be going in at that location,” said Brighton Mayor Gregory Mills in a city statement. “Freddy’s will be a great addition to the city’s dining options.” The location is 3,050 square feet
and will seat 84 guests with additional seating on the patio. Drivethru service, DoorDash delivery and mobile ordering through the Freddy’s app will also be available. “We’re thrilled to join the development in Prairie Center and bring delicious, cooked-toorder food to the surrounding businesses and residents,” said Brian Pyle, franchise owner, in a statement. “We think Freddy’s differentiates itself in several areas, starting with our freshlychurned frozen custard treats, cooked-to-order lean ground beef steakburgers and Vienna beef hot dogs. Thompson Street Capital Partners acquired the brand in March. Freddy’s has more than 400 locations in 32 states. Forbes Magazine named Freddy’s as a top franchise to buy twice, according to a statement, and has received Franchise Times Magazine’s Fast & Furious Top 20 Award in 2020. Questions? Platte Valley Medical Center partnered with local organizations to begin a community health needs assessment. Its goal is to identify significant health needs in the area and how the center can help. A press statement said the process began with a meeting between medical center staff, Salud Family Health Center, Almost Home Inc., the Brighton Housing Authority, Weld County government officials, the Eagle View Adult Center and other community groups. The topic was changing community needs that developed over the past year. The meeting produced these areas of interest: • Access to health care; • Mental health needs; • Food Insecurity; • Housing insecurity; • Heart and stroke care; and • Diabetes The press statement said the public can share its health experiences and name areas it thinks are the most important. All non-profit hospitals in the country conduct these sorts of assessments every three years, and they adopt a community health improvement plan to address priority needs.
