Community Honors the Life of Lyon Herron

Under a somber sky at Zuma Beach Tower 10 on February 10, family and friends gathered on a cold, rainy morning to honor Lyon Herron, a cherished member of the Malibu community who passed away at 32 on December 17. Lyon had battled a relentless disease since the tender age of 4, and as he neared his transition, he was enveloped in the love of his devoted family and friends. The memorial began with a breathtaking sight—a vivid rainbow stretching across the horizon, a poignant symbol of Lyon’s vibrant spirit. Attendees, adorned with beautiful Hawaiian leis, came together to pay their respects, some laying the fragrant leis gently on the beach or releasing them into the ocean during a touching paddle-out ceremony.

At Duke’s, where Lyon had once worked, loved ones gathered to celebrate his life. Fond memories and heartfelt tributes were shared, painting a picture of Lyon as a person of unparalleled kindness and humility, remembered for his unwavering positivity and generosity. Inside the reception room, large posters with images of Lyon captured moments of joy and strength. Guests signed a surfboard in his honor, commemorating his love for the ocean and the surfing community. The event also served as a reunion for the Malibu tribe, coming together to fulfill Lyon’s last wishes of celebrating life through music. Original members of Backbone, a beloved fixture in Malibu’s music scene, performed in Lyon’s honor, adding a poignant note to the gathering.

Throughout the day, stories were shared of Lyon’s indomitable spirit and zest for life, despite the challenges he faced. He is remembered as a beloved friend, a passionate surfer, and a true Malibu native. As the rain poured down mingling with tears of grief and remembrance, Lyon’s spirit was palpable—a reminder of the strength and unity of the Malibu community. Though Lyon may no longer be with us, his memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, forever cherished and deeply missed.

Vintage Grocers Celebrates 10th Anniversary

The vivacious crowd happily gathered on March 9 to celebrate Vintage Grocers’ 10th anniversary. Young ones delighted in the face painting and photo booth. Busy parents tried to keep track of their offspring as some of their wee ones begged for the enticing cotton candy, while others wanted to sample the free tacos.

Local vendors displayed a multitude of products available at the grocer, including a variety of tasty tequilas, Malibu’s popular local beer, Sandy; samples from the local wine venue, Summer Somewhere; and plenty of complimentary food. Surveying all the mayhem stood the engaging, affable Tom Corliss, owner of Malibu Makos Surf Club, which has offered kids surf camps, birthday parties, and private surf lessons for decades. Corliss handed out bumper stickers and camp schedule information.

“This is our 34th Summer, and I’m Malibu-born and raised,” Corliss said. “Kids enjoy our camps during spring break and in the summer, and we offer instruction from local lifeguards. I am proud to share our information and to come out and support Vintage. Our camps get all of our lunches from Vintage, and we also serve campers the store’s delicious pizzas.”

Also focusing on the extensive collaboration between Vintage and other local businesses was Kambria Lemke, store manager for Summer Somewhere Wines, a local wine venue in Fred Segal at Cross Creek. “Malibu businesses support other Malibu businesses,” Lemke said. “Every week at our tasting room, we feature cheese boards from Vintage, and in turn, Vintage sells our wonderful wines.” Nearby, Julie Talancon, Melissa’s Produce’s consumer engagement representative, agreed as she offered attendees free samples of delicious, fresh fruits. Attendees and Vintage employees equally enjoyed all the fun.

Open Hearts Gala: Uniting Hearts, Igniting Change

Founder Jane Seymour of Malibu addressed a jubilant crowd at the wellattended annual gala for the nonprofit organization Open Hearts on February 17 at Calamigos Ranch, declaring, “Open Hearts is a movement, and we’re moving.” Seymour emphasized the organization’s status as a small foundation with a significant mission fueled by collaborative efforts of like-minded individuals striving for societal good. The gala commemorated Open Hearts’ 14 years of empowering numerous emerging and growing charity partners alongside inspiring volunteers globally. Over its history, the foundation has allocated more than $1.79 million in grants to over 60 charities, fostering positive change worldwide.

During the event, charity partner representatives, including Josh Gezahegn of The Volunteer Center South Bay/Harbor/Long Beach, highlighted the tangible impact of Open Hearts’ support. Gezahegn praised the foundation’s $12,000 grant, which enabled the distribution of school bags filled with essential items to lowincome first-graders, showcasing the depth of Open Hearts’ engagement beyond financial contributions.

The foundation also honored Melissa Yeager, co-founder of the Claire’s Place Foundation, for her resilience and dedication to supporting individuals affected by cystic fibrosis. Yeager’s commitment to continuing her daughter’s legacy exemplifies the ethos of Open Hearts, as Seymour recounted her own mother’s resilience during challenging times. Moreover, the gala celebrated the philanthropic contributions of Mindy and Glenn Stearns, recipients of the Open Hearts Humanitarian Award, highlighting their alignment with the foundation’s mission of serving with compassion and generosity. The event’s inspiring atmosphere resonated with attendees, prompting generous donations and active participation in fundraising activities. Reflecting on the gala’s success, Seymour emphasized the profound impact of collective action driven by compassion and purpose.

Loving Malibu

we asked the locals...

How do you keep your mental health strong?

Photographed and curated

Ignacio Rodriguez

In the soothing embrace of the beach with my loyal companion Enzo by my side, I discover a sanctuary for my mind and soul. Enzo’s boundless energy and contagious enthusiasm infuse our daily beach excursions with an effortless joy, reminding me to embrace the present moment and savor life’s simple pleasures. As we tread up and down the beach, feeling the ocean breeze on our faces and the rhythmic waves lapping at our feet, I am reminded of the beauty of life and the profound healing power of nature.

One of the things I like to do for my joy and mental health is gardening. Being outside in nature brings me to my most meditative form. Grounding myself in nature, I find the fruits of my labor are rewarding.

Michelle Kent

Maintaining and promoting my mental health is multifaceted. I believe staying physically fit is a major factor in a happy life. I do and teach Pilates to stay fit. Joseph Pilates said that physical fitness is the first step to happiness. No matter how you’re feeling before you start a workout session in Pilates, you’re feeling energized by the end. You have to mentally focus on your movements and your body as you move through the different exercises. This helps me to distract myself from other worries that may pop up. I also like the teaching aspect that allows me to help others learn how to move their body better and see them appreciate their fitness improvements. My devotional time with God is also a big factor in improving my mental health, and I enjoy time with family and friends and walks on the beach with my dog.

Priming myself every day through a gentle and short breathwork and movement practice is essential for maintaining mental health and overall well-being. A simple yet effective technique to promote mental clarity and emotional balance is diaphragmatic breathing. When stress or anxiety surfaces, find a comfortable position, inhale deeply through your nose, let your diaphragm expand, and exhale slowly for double the time through your mouth or incorporate “humming.” This practice engages the parasympathetic nervous system, fostering relaxation and stress reduction.

In the hustle of life, it’s essential to prioritize mental health. Embrace moments of mindfulness, and remember that self-care is not a luxury but a necessity. As you navigate the journey of life, breathe intentionally, letting each breath be a reminder that you possess the strength to overcome challenges. Be kind to yourself, and remember that in the ups and downs of life, your well-being is a priority worth investing in.

I cannot think of a better way to start each morning than with a walk or hike near the ocean. This gives me a sense of connection with nature and the beauty of the scenery here in Malibu. I follow that with a workout session at Malilbu Fitness or a yoga class at the Mindry, and my day always starts on a positive note. It is my most optimal way to maintain my positive health and wellness.

Starting my day with these routines contributes to a sense of well-being for myself through physical activity, connection with nature, stress relief, and mindfulness. I feel more energized and focused for the day ahead.

I am grateful to live in a location that allows me to spend almost every day outside amongst our beautiful, natural surroundings. I believe this is the key to my health—both physically and mentally.

Family & Friends Honor Matt Rapf

Family man, man of God, intellect, and iconic surfer

“My uncle Matt was a legend! Many can attest to his antics on and off the beach in the ’80s, but that wasn’t the Matt I knew,” Brian Rapf posted on Facebook on February 8, four short days after receiving the gut-punching, tragic news that Matt Rapf, 61, an iconic and much-adored son of Malibu, suddenly died in the ocean that he loved during a paddle-out to honor Lyon Herron.

“I knew a thoughtful, caring, introspective family man who always gave more than he took. He was a pillar of the local Alcoholics Anonymous and church communities, and he commanded respect because he walked the walk and never turned down an opportunity to help a friend or a stranger — he helped hundreds of people get sober while offering his love and support if you chose a different path,” Brian continued. “I knew a respected businessman who stuck to his core beliefs and prioritized friendships and integrity over money. The most important thing in his life was his family, and he spent more time with Jill, Luke, and Chloe than most families could dream of — we need more people like Matt Rapf.”

Brian’s touching accolades honoring his uncle are resoundingly echoed by all who knew Matt Rapf. There are several laudable, common themes amidst the comments uttered by lamenting loved ones, friends, and colleagues. According to his good friend, Peter Register, “Matt was an incredible person and a true Malibu fixture. In a nutshell … Matt gave more than he took. He gave his heart and soul to his family, friends, and the Malibu community he loved deeply. Matt was a Malibu steward. He really couldn’t stop giving.”

“He would come into his office in this lovely home we just moved into last year, and he was so happy here; so peaceful. He would take an hour to meditate and for morning prayers,” said Jill, his grieving wife of 21 years. “He loved Psalm 91, which is used by a lot of generals going into battle because it is a Psalm of protection — Matt would read

his Bible passages and he was such a seeker — he always wanted to get the Bible’s messages right.”

As Matt’s loving community struggles greatly to process the shocking news, those who loved him most gathered on February 18 to celebrate his 62nd birthday at the place he loved so much, The Gathering, his beloved place of worship.

There were macadamia nut cookies that his daughter, Chloe, made and, of course, a birthday cake. It provided some solace to many who knew and loved him.

“He was so strong — like a charging bull — nothing could stop him,” Jill said. “He traveled all over the place and had recently returned from a church mission trip to the Dominican Republic.”

Matt and Jill went on surf trips to Fiji, Indonesia, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, saying, “We were best friends. We surfed together and were happy to be together — we laughed everyday.”

They had two trips planned to New Zealand and the Maldives. Plans thwarted by fate, which cruelly wrenched Matt from those whom he loved, leaving them with a heart-wrenching, hollow space and wondering why. He was, Jill shared, teary-eyed, shattered, and grieving, “So full of love. He had it down — how to be present, to love, to be, to live.”

“I knew a passionate reader and writer who went back to school as an adult, striving to better himself and those around him,” Brian posted online, referring to his Uncle Matt.

Matt went back to get his degree in his 40s, Jill said, “He wrote a book that one day might be episodic for Netflix.”

Matt grew up in the Colony, where his father also spent his childhood. He spent his young years living in a large home that overlooked Third Point and surfed every day, either at Third Point or Old Joe’s.

When he was interviewed by Tony Mark in “The Malibu Podcast,” the People’s History of Malibu, Matt characterized his childhood as a privileged life.

Some stories he shared with Mark involved his wild escapades in the ’80s before he got sober.

However, one involved what Matt characterized in the podcast as a “dwelling-challenged person” named Chester, who lived next to his family’s house for 17 years.

“Matt was always helping people and taking him under their wing,” his older brother, Jim Rapf, said. “He insisted on taking Chester Thanksgiving dinner, and that advanced over time to him taking

Chester many meals.”

“Most people in the Colony deemed Chester ‘crazy,’” Jim said. “However, years later, Chester became a responsible citizen, and he lived in people’s guest houses on the Colony and helped people doing odd jobs.”

That story, Jim Rapf said, exemplified how it was “just Matt’s nature — right from the beginning when he was a young kid — he was always helping people. He was a remarkable human who was there for everybody.”

“He was good at real estate,” Jill shared. “Not so long ago, he commented that he was lucky that he could sustain his family in real estate, which is hard to do.” Matt learned real estate from the best of the best — his mother, Carol Rapf, who was known as “The Queen of Malibu Real Estate.” Matt told Mark in the podcast as he proudly displayed a picture of his mom in the Colony riding her bike, “She was always selling real estate on her bike between tennis games.” Her way of selling real estate was unconventional, but very Malibu, Matt added.

“Matt Rapf was not only a respected figure within the Malibu professional real estate community but also a beloved member of our community. His deep roots in Malibu, coupled with his unwavering dedication to his profession and his family, made him an integral part of our lives,” Malibu Association of Realtors President Susan Cosentino said. “Matt’s reputation as a realtor who went above and beyond to assist others, coupled with his exemplary character as a family man, left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Matt’s sudden departure has left us all reeling, and his absence will be keenly felt by many.”

Cosentino added, “However, amidst the sadness, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of kindness, professionalism, and community spirit will endure. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.”

“I’ve known Matt since we were kids — we rode the bus to Santa Monica together and he was very good friends with my late husband, Dusty Peak,” Denise Peak said. “Matt was like part of the family — we’d always see him on the beach and he always had a huge smile on his face.”

“It’s hard to put into words what losing a friend of 55 years means,” Andy Lyon said. “Matt and I were lifelong friends and he was such a huge part of my life. He touched so many people in different circles in Malibu and will be missed by so many people. My heart goes out to Jill, Luke, and Chloe and all of his family, which I feel I have always been a part of — he was a one-of-a-kind guy.”

Agreeing, his older brother, Jim Rapf said, “Matt’s kids need to know what a great man Matt was and how very remarkable a legacy he leaves behind.”

Capturing Malibu’s Timeless Beauty

Renowned photographer Joshua Klein’s images evoke the spirit of Malibu’s coastline

Renowned Malibu artist Bobbi Bennett praises Joshua Klein’s departure from the conventional use of color in photography, instead opting for the timeless elegance of black-and-white to capture Malibu’s essence. Klein’s exhibit, “The Surf Sounds Loudly, Malibu Photographed by Joshua Klein,” debuted at the Surfrider Gallery on March 9, above The Malibu Farm Cafe at the end of the Malibu Pier. Klein’s collection offers a fresh perspective on Malibu’s coastal wonders, from the rhythmic waves to the captivating cloud formations. Klein’s sharp imagery captures fleeting moments of beach life, such as the dynamic energy of crashing waves frozen in time. Notably, “Surf Spray” evokes the exhilaration of oceanic motion, while other pieces, like those featuring pelicans in flight, evoke a sense of freedom under the sun’s warm embrace. Alice Bamford, the gallery owner, commends Klein’s humility and impact, noting his dedication to both photography and preserving Malibu’s heritage. Klein’s deep connection to the area stems from his intimate engagement with its natural rhythms, often seizing moments during early morning walks or commutes to the pier.

Reflecting on his photographic journey from Paris to New York and finally to Malibu, Klein emphasizes the allure of the coastal dream. His work spans many landscapes, from fashion show backstages to remote Saharan villages, yet it’s his Malibu imagery that resonates most deeply. Guests at the exhibit are entranced by Klein’s captivating compositions, which embody the rugged beauty of Malibu’s landscape. The Leica camera’s exceptional image quality lends richness to his black-and-white textures, drawing viewers into a world of timeless elegance. For many, Klein’s photographs evoke a profound appreciation for Malibu’s natural wonders, inviting them to immerse themselves in its beauty. As Klein continues to share his vision, including his Versailles project, patrons are reminded that heaven on earth can be found in the magical waves and breathtaking landscapes of Malibu, beautifully captured through Klein’s lens at the Surfrider Gallery. Premiering at Regency Theatres in Calabasas, the documentary was produced by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, shedding light on the losses endured by humans and wildlife, the devastation of properties, and the invaluable lessons gleaned from the disaster. As the film unfolds, viewers are transported back to the relentless onslaught of flames, winds, and embers that ravaged the Las Virgenes-Conejo region. Water District General Manager Dave Pedersen sets the stage, highlighting the inferno’s origins in the Chatsworth hills, which eventually engulfed two-thirds of the district’s service area, stretching to the Pacific shores. Through candid interviews with elected officials, public safety officers, and community members, the documentary paints a vivid picture of the chaos and heroism that unfolded during those perilous days. Captain Jennifer Seetoo of the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station recounts the daunting task of evacuating a sprawling area while reflecting on the overwhelming challenges faced by responders amidst communication failures and resource shortages.

The film acknowledges both the triumphs and shortcomings of the response effort, celebrating the resilience and solidarity exhibited by communities while acknowledging the heartbreaking losses suffered. Assistant Fire Chief Drew Smith candidly admits the shortcomings in firefighting resources and strategies, underscoring the formidable nature of the Woolsey Fire. Personal anecdotes from Pierson and others offer poignant insights into the emotional toll of the disaster, from frantic evacuations to valiant efforts to save wildlife amidst the inferno’s fury. As images of devastation flash across the screen, viewers are reminded of the urgent need for preparedness and resilience in the face of future threats. Ultimately, “Flames to the Ocean” serves as both a tribute to the courage and camaraderie displayed during the Woolsey Fire and a sobering reminder of the ever-present risk posed by wildfires. As communities continue to rebuild and fortify against future disasters, the documentary stands as a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who endured one of California’s most devastating wildfires. MALIBU’S CULINARY LANDSCAPE

Locals’ healthy lifestyles inspire a feast for the senses and soul

Malibu, born on sun-kissed shores flush with nature and stunning landscapes, is burgeoning with a healthconscious culinary scene. The ocean breeze carries the promise of a vibrant and wholesome lifestyle, embracing this ethos with a delectable array of nutritious delights.

At the heart of Malibu’s dining experience lies a commitment to procuring the finest, locally-sourced ingredients, reflecting a deep-rooted respect for sustainability and quality. From farm-fresh produce to artisanal creations, each dish is meticulously crafted to deliver not only exquisite flavors but also essential nutrients, embodying the philosophy that food should both delight and nourish.

Plant-based enthusiasts will find themselves spoiled for choice here in Malibu, where innovative chefs harness the bounty of nature to create culinary masterpieces that celebrate the vibrant flavors and textures of fruits, vegetables, and legumes. Whether savoring a delectable vegan burger bursting with savory umami or indulging in a colorful array of plant-powered sushi rolls, diners can revel in guilt-free pleasures that invigorate both body and soul.

and leafy greens to nourishing soups infused with aromatic herbs and spices, each bite is a celebration of pure, unadulterated goodness—a testament to the profound connection between food and vitality.

Moreover, Malibu’s gastronomic landscape extends beyond the confines of traditional dining establishments, embracing a vibrant culture of farmers’ markets, wellness retreats, and culinary workshops that empower individuals to cultivate a deeper appreciation for mindful eating and sustainable living. Here, food is not merely sustenance but a transformative experience—one that ignites the senses, fosters community, and nurtures a profound sense of well-being.

About to celebrate 50 years at the Malibu Country Mart, John’s Garden is one of the friendliest restaurants around, known for its fresh and creative sandwiches and salads. It’s a local favorite, especially amongst Malibu moms who enjoy meeting for a healthy, delicious lunch seated near the playground. But beware—sneaky seagulls will snatch your food if you don’t have an eagle eye out.

Meanwhile, whole-food aficionados will delight in Malibu’s offerings of nutrient-dense dishes that showcase the inherent goodness of unprocessed ingredients. From hearty grain bowls brimming with wholesome grains

John’s Garden even received notoriety from taste-making lifestyle brand Goop, who dubbed their favorite sandwich, the Surfer Princess, “a perfect turkey-on-wheat piled high with sprouts, avocado salad, and Vegenaise.” They also gave a shout out to the coconut-macadamia-chocolate-chip cookies.

48 | MALIBUMAG.COM

Their menu is vast, including soups, smoothies, fresh fruit, and a large selection of curated specialty drinks and snacks. A best seller is the mouthwatering salad named after a beloved John’s Garden employee of 37 years. Longtime locals remember Steve Ridgway, the friendly cashier behind the counter with a signature tagline, “Be good out there.” New owners honor the late Ridgway, a fixture in Malibu, with a salad aptly called the “Be Good Salad” made with grilled salmon on a bed of baby greens, parmesan cheese, grape tomatoes, orange cubes, capers, and pine nuts served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, created in his memory.

The lunch and snack shop even has a secret menu. Order the Ivo Burger, named after former employee and artist Ivo Spirov, and you’ll bite into a mouthwatering vegetarian black bean burger topped with fresh spinach, pepper jack, pepperoncinis, and tomatoes on a ciabatta bun. Also off-menu is a hardto-find specialty: a carob shake.

The Vitamin Barn in the Colony Plaza is Malibu’s “OG” health food store, beloved by locals for over 35 years. Here, you’ll find delicious smoothies, sandwiches, wraps, and juices squeezed fresh to order. Ask for nutritional consultants Lucy or Joe, who have been at this gathering spot for decades. “They’re super knowledgeable on supplements, herbs, and amino acids that promote healthy lifestyles,” says owner Gene Arnold, adding, “We’re committed to supplying the community with the top brands, doctor’s lines, and our own label of reasonably priced supplements.” If you feel a sniffle coming on, downing a signature Vitamin Barn wellness shot of fresh ginger, oregano, and garlic in one gulp is a quick fix to prevent a cold from getting the best of you.

Now a national chain, Sunlife Organics was born in Malibu. Founded by Khalil Rafati, who once struggled with addiction, lived on the streets, and “suffered the high cost of low living,” Rafati turned his life around by juicing and believing in himself and others. Sunlife Organic’s mission, “to love, heal, and inspire,” is found in the superfood ingredients used in their organic, made-to-order smoothies, bowls, juices, soups, toasts, and bone broths.

The colorful Blue Majik smoothie, with young Thai coconut, Medjool dates, pink Himalayan salt, Blue Majik (e3 Live organic blue-green algae), lotus pollen, and grass-fed whey protein isolate, will get you going and glowing.

The Malibu Farmers Market has become a beloved gathering place, drawing visitors and residents alike to its vibrant stalls and convivial atmosphere every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., conveniently located in front of the Malibu Library. As the sun casts its warm glow over the coastal landscape, patrons are greeted by a cornucopia of fresh, locallysourced produce straight from the hands of our local farmers.

From plump heirloom tomatoes to crisp, leafy greens, each offering is a testament to the dedication of the farmers who cultivate the land with care and passion.

But the Malibu Farmers Market is more than just a place to stock up on groceries—it’s a celebration of community, culture, and connection. Against a backdrop of live music drifting through the air, friends and neighbors gather to catch up, share stories, and revel in the simple joys of life. Smiles abound as strangers become friends over shared samples and friendly banter, creating an atmosphere that is as welcoming as it is infectious.

Helmed by the acclaimed chef Helene Henderson, these culinary havens offer a feast for the senses, combining locally sourced, farm-to-table fare with an ambiance of laid-back luxury.

Perched on the edge of the pier, Malibu Farm’s white-washed dining room provides a serene setting for guests to savor a delectable meal while gazing out at the azure expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Large windows frame panoramic views of the coastline, inviting diners to immerse themselves in the natural beauty that surrounds them. Whether nestled indoors or seated on the breezy patio, every table offers a front-row seat to the mesmerizing spectacle of surfers carving the waves just beyond the pier.

But it’s not just the scenery that captivates at Malibu Farm—chef Helene Henderson’s culinary creations are equally awe-inspiring. Drawing inspiration from the bounty of the land and sea, her farmto-table dishes showcase the freshest ingredients sourced from local farmers and fishermen. From vibrant salads bursting with seasonal produce to succulent seafood caught just offshore, each dish is a celebration of simplicity, flavor, and sustainability.

Malibu’s culinary scene is a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of health-consciousness, sustainability, and community. From the commitment to sourcing locally-grown ingredients to the innovative creations of plant-based cuisine, Malibu’s eateries embody a philosophy that food should not only tantalize the taste buds but also nourish the body and soul. BROOKE BURKE

From cancer survivor to wellness maven, embracing life with passion and purpose in Malibu

“Iam an author, a cancer survivor, an entrepreneur, a fitness educator, a philanthropist, and a television personality,” Malibu’s Brooke Burke said, noting that Forbes recognized her as one of the top 10 moms to follow on social media.

Brooke’s presence has graced the covers of numerous esteemed publications, spanning from SHAPE and Fitness to The Ladies Home Journal, showcasing her multifaceted appeal. Beyond the glossy pages, she assumes the role of a host, not only curating in-person and online intentional wellness and fitness classes but also orchestrating rejuvenating longevity retreats. Rooted in her upbringing in Tucson, Brooke’s journey took flight after graduating from UCLA with a broadcast journalism degree, heralding her career ascent as the host of the E! Network’s travel show, “Wild On.”

56 | MALIBUMAG.COM

“The show offered a medley of culture, partying, cuisine, and travel adventures,” Brooke shared. “We went to 40 countries in two years!” Then, she unpacked and worked locally, appearing in CBS’s “Rock Star” and TV Lands’ “She’s Got the Look.” After winning the seventh season of “Dancing with the Stars,” Brooke served as co-host of the show from seasons ten to season seventeen.

In 2017, Brooke launched Brooke Burke Body, a fitness app with workout videos.

“BB Body is the real manifestation of my lifelong passion for self-care, health, and fitness for EVERY body,” Brooke said. “Together, we can do anything!”

Brooke is also a busy mother of four children. She shares her daughters, Neriah Fisher, 23, a talented musician currently touring worldwide, and Sierra Fisher, 21, a talented singer, with her ex-husband, Garth Fisher. She also shares her daughter, Rain Charvet, 17, and son, Shaya Charvet, 16, with her ex-husband, David Charvet. Brooke lives in Malibu with her fiance, Scott Rigsby, the father of Lila, 16, and son Levi, 12.

“We’re a bit of a motley crew, but it works,” Brooke said when asked about having a busy career and the kids. As she sat in her peaceful Malibu home, she explained why her crew lives in this town.

“Malibu has such grit and resilience,” Brooke shared, noting that her home was damaged by embers just after the Woolsey Fire. “I wouldn’t live anywhere else—we are blessed with all the elements of the Chumash who lived here before us, and we are lucky to raise our children here where we can enjoy the open air and enjoy the sun.”

“Most teenagers think what their mom does is not cool,” she joked. “Except when she hosts the magic show ‘Penn & Teller: Fool Us’ with a live audience—it’s the longestrunning Las Vegas show ever!”

Brooke extends transformative and intentional wellness classes and retreats, drawing from her own journey as a thyroid cancer survivor, which amplifies the significance of self-care. As the founder of the intentional wellness app @BrookeBurkeBody&Soul, she recognizes the universal quest for an inner sanctuary—a sanctuary where individuals find solace, center themselves, and cultivate focus and grounding.

“We all need to slow down and make ourselves important enough to add ourselves to our to-do lists,” Brooke explained, brilliantly balancing her life as a busy mother and a successful professional. “At my classes offered at Rafi Lounge in Malibu, guests can feel the collective energy in person.” The in-person classes include a Rafi Lounge

HEALTH 2024 | 57

Sweat Temple—HOT Booty Sculpt as well as a Total Body Sculpt Zoom class.

“I also offer live and online workouts that share the magic of Malibu with clients from all over the globe,” Brooke shared. “We stick around and do a Q&A afterward, and it really helps to have a community that’s motivating you and holding you accountable.”

These days, Brooke also offers intentional wellness retreats that go far beyond fitness and yoga by focusing on longevity and developing a union of one’s mind, body, and spirit, thereby elevating a person’s positive energy so as to discover their personal potential.

“With my holistic multi-day retreats that I offer all over the world, I assist attendees to develop their own personal Blue Zones,” Brooke explained, adding, “They do so by creating a mindset that is intentional and grounded. We have teepee ceremonies and sisterhood circles. It’s all about bonding with nature and centering ourselves.”

She observed that while some participants are drawn to yoga, others are eager for a profound journey of self-realization. Recently, Brooke orchestrated a sold-out longevity retreat in Nosara, Costa Rica, featuring breathtaking hikes and immersive salt water therapy—a true embodiment of the Pura Vida lifestyle.

“My events also include longevity retreats in Carefree, Arizona,” Brooke explained. “I love the desert as its solitude and silence can facilitate introspection, mindfulness, and a

deep connection with nature. We unlock the power of breath work and practice meditation, which has so many positive physical and mental health benefits.”

Brooke emphasized, “We believe that community is the cornerstone of longevity and that retreats foster community—when you leave a retreat, after days spent with likeminded people, you feel more confident in the way you show up in the world.”

She invited our local readers to attend some upcoming Malibu events, including an Earth Day event on April 21 that will offer attendees the opportunity to view the event property’s grounds which include a beautiful garden, meditation spaces, and ceremonial teepees. She is also offering a Family Festival on June 1st that will benefit one of her favorite charities, Operation Smile, which assists patients with cleft palates and their families.

“The [Family Festival] June 1st event will include a music festival, food, games, and a fun zone—it will be great fun!” Brooke shared.

Through her intentional wellness initiatives, including transformative classes and rejuvenating retreats, she offers not just fitness but a pathway to self-discovery and community. With Brooke, it’s not just about achieving wellness—it’s about embracing life with passion, purpose, and a touch of Malibu magic.

Making waves in Malibu by redefining cannabis culture

Malibu, renowned for its breathtaking beaches, celebrity sightings, and world-class surf breaks, is a coastal gem that captivates visitors from around the globe. However, nestled within this picturesque landscape lies a hidden treasure that has been making waves of its own since 2015: 99 High Tide, a cannabis dispensary like no other. Founded by Malibu locals Yvonne Delarosa Green and Sam Boyer, 99 High Tide is not just a place to procure high-quality cannabis products; it's an experience that transcends the ordinary.

Actress and activist Yvonne DeLaRosa Green, alongside award-winning filmmaker and surfer Sam Boyer, envisioned a space that seamlessly blends their love for Malibu, healing, and cannabis. The result? 99 High Tide—a sanctuary that beckons visitors into its spa-like mermaid cove, where one can undoubtedly discover their higher self amidst the tranquil ambiance.

Upon stepping into 99 High Tide, guests are greeted by the Malibu Mermaids, the dispensary's beloved consultants. These knowledgeable individuals, with their genuine passion for cannabis and its healing properties, serve as guides through the diverse array of products available. Whether you're a seasoned cannabis enthusiast or a newcomer to the scene, the Mermaids offer insights and recommendations tailored to individual preferences and needs.

Every aspect of 99 High Tide reflects the meticulous attention to detail invested by Yvonne and Sam. From the serene ocean-inspired decor to the eco-conscious practices embedded within the establishment, each element contributes to its reputation as one of California's premier dispensaries. Sustainable initiatives, such as ecofriendly packaging and energy-efficient lighting, underscore Yvonne and Sam's commitment to environmental stewardship.

Yet, what truly sets 99 High Tide apart is the depth of knowledge and dedication exhibited by its founders. Yvonne and Sam are not merely entrepreneurs; they are advocates for cannabis reform, champions of small-batch farmers, and proponents of the plant's spiritual potential. Their unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity has garnered them recognition as icons within the cannabis community.

Beyond its role as a dispensary, 99 High Tide serves as a hub for healing and community

engagement. Through a myriad of events, including High Tea gatherings, Sacred Sound Baths, and charity initiatives, Yvonne and Sam foster connections and promote wellness within the Malibu community. Their ethos extends beyond profit margins, emphasizing the importance of giving back and creating meaningful experiences for patrons.

As visitors depart from 99 High Tide, they carry with them not only premium cannabis products but also a sense of tranquility and belonging. Yvonne and Sam's creation transcends the conventional dispensary model, embodying the essence of healing, education, and connection. In a world where authenticity is often rare, 99 High Tide stands as a beacon of integrity and purpose—a true paradise nestled within the heart of Malibu.

At the heart of the community lies the Verso Vitality Center, where healthcare experts tailor a wellness program for each resident. This signature Vitality Assessment incorporates both traditional and alternative modalities, from group activities, such as hydrotherapy spa sessions and strength training classes, to memory care with FDA-approved cognitive therapy and meditation for holistic well-being. Residents enhance strength and flexibility through aquatic therapy, improve balance and stability with yoga, ease pain via acupuncture, and release stress through sound-guided meditation.

Ciela offers a variety of residence types, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and short-term stays. Choose from studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom apartments with one or two baths. Assisted living services can be provided in the privacy of your apartment home so you can continue living near friends and neighbors. Ciela also understands the healing benefits of animal companionship and happily welcomes dogs, cats, birds, and fish.

Those simply looking to maintain their independence without the hassles of home maintenance, as well as people facing memory issues, can all find a home at Ciela. Their memory care wellness philosophy, called Bloom, prioritizes creating moments of joy through positive interactions. Compassionate caregivers help residents make connections through music, dance, art, food, movement, and sensory stimulation. Everyone can tap into their artistic side with outdoor sketching and painting sessions led by experienced artists. Or bond with fellow gardening enthusiasts and grow flowers, herbs, and vegetables while reaping the therapeutic benefits of the community garden.

Nutrition stands at the forefront of good health. At The Heights roof-top restaurant, you can drink in the enticing scenery along with your meal. This indoor/outdoor restaurant serves fresh Mediterranean and California cuisine that follows the renowned Blue Zone diet protocol, which highlights whole grains, complex carbohydrates, in-season vegetables, fruits, root and tubers (such as carrots, beets, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams), nuts, seeds, and beans. Their seasonal menu sources quality ingredients and produce from local farmers markets. They also offer mouth-watering brick oven pizzas and graband-go beverages. Menu items are available for in-residence dining, as well.

Ciela challenges the stereotypes of assisted living. They’re currently accepting new tenants who share the belief that one’s later years should be a time for rejuvenation, finding new meaning in life, and joyful exploration.

Tribù: A legacy of timeless elegance

Founded in 1966, Tribù stands as a testament to the enduring values of family, craftsmanship, and understated elegance. With a rich heritage spanning three generations, Tribù has earned its place as one of the oldest and most revered makers of outdoor furniture in the world. Collaborating with the finest designers and master craftspeople, Tribù continues to redefine the boundaries of outdoor luxury.

At the heart of Tribù's offerings lies a commitment to timeless style and innovative design. Their collections, including Nodi, Vis-à-Vis, Senja, and Pure, epitomize the perfect blend of comfort and sophistication, capturing the essence of outdoor relaxation. Notably, sectional sofas from these collections have emerged as customer favorites, seamlessly integrating with various outdoor settings to create inviting spaces for lounging and socializing. The team of interior designers at Tribù often selects a sectional as the starting point of a project before choosing club chairs, side and coffee tables, and other accessories.

Due to the careful selection process and premium quality, teak reigns supreme as Tribù's most popular material choice. Renowned for its durability and natural beauty, Tribù's fully-grown teak wood is sourced from three meticulously selected Indonesian plantations in the East of Java and harvested in accordance with the strictest environmental standards. Throughout the entire design process, Tribù's teak furniture undergoes rigorous quality checks, beginning at square one, with the Indonesian production checked year-round by subsidiary Tribù Asia, based in Semarang and led by a European management team.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, teak boasts inherent properties that make it ideal for outdoor furniture, including durability, stability, and water and weather resistance. It can be left outside all year long and survive even the most extreme weather conditions.

In the realm of trends, Tribù's latest collection, SURO, designed by the esteemed French designer Christophe Delcourt, takes center stage. With its majestic tabletop slats, scrupulously crafted legs, and subtle brass accents, SURO exudes an air of elegance and provides remarkable possibilities for expansion. Delcourt's vision of inviting gatherings of family and friends to be comfortably seated in grand outdoor settings translates as the table appears as one seamless unit, regardless of its final length. Additionally, Tribù's commitment to natural materials is evident in their use of innovative fabrics like weather-resistant hemp, offering both durability and eco-consciousness in their designs. Their 2024 collection includes their first-ever knitted MAI hemp pouf.

Embracing subdued colors and natural hues, Tribù's outdoor furniture effortlessly harmonizes with its surroundings, whether lounging by the ocean, in the garden, or overlooking a picturesque vista. Color palettes include neutrals like sand and stone but also incorporate touches of terracotta and moss green. The modern, understated, refined design ethos delivers an authentic luxury experience across all touchpoints, from product design to showroom. With an unrelenting dedication to excellence and innovation, Tribù continues to elevate contemporary outdoor living to new heights, setting the pace for the industry with its innovative research and development process and meticulous attention to detail.

Summer Classics' Palma collection is at the heart of this year's top trends, with its innovative use of marine-grade vinyl leather upholstery, offering a contemporary twist on outdoor furniture design that allows for ease of cleaning. Collections like Savannah showcase the beauty of teak with sweeping curves and dramatic backs, adding a touch of sophistication to any outdoor space. With nearly 80 brand-new fabrics added to the 160-plus fabric selection this year alone, the Summer Classics collections celebrate each customer's unique personality, empowering them to create a personalized outdoor setting that truly reflects their individual style and preferences. Their incredible variety of refined prints and bold patterns in stunning fabrics promises to take patio aesthetics to new heights.

New and exciting colorways from Summer Classics in 2024 include upholstery offerings in Forest, Punch, and Ale. With a slight earthiness punctuated by fun prints and clever patterns, Forest truly accentuates the beauty of the greenery outdoors. A modern take on terracotta with a brighter vibrancy, Punch makes any setting feel upbeat and fun, especially when paired with a jaw-dropping pattern. Earth-toned Ale is a modern colorway that pairs impeccably with Oyster Teak or Slate Grey finishes, creating a neutral-hued style that genuinely shines with added texture.

Dedicated to providing opulence and function in outdoor living, Aldik encourages customers to explore and experience the furniture firsthand, emphasizing the importance of comfort and quality in furniture selection. When transforming any outdoor area, the Aldik team recommends first defining the purpose of the space and determining the dimensions. Then, focusing on available materials and styles to furnish your space becomes much more manageable and enjoyable.

Each member of the Aldik team holds a vast knowledge about each of the carefully vetted manufacturers along with every individual product they carry that they will happily share with those interested, including how the furniture is made, how it holds up, and what characteristics make each piece remarkable. With a meticulous focus on customer satisfaction and education, Aldik Home ensures that their patrons make informed decisions tailored to their specific needs and preferences to create the happiest of year-round outdoor havens.

As we embark on longer days and warmer weather, the world of outdoor furniture entices us with promises of quality time well spent with family in the embrace of warm breezes and fresh ocean air. Whether it's the timeless elegance of Tribù or the beauty-meetscomfort of Summer Classics at Aldik Home, one thing remains certain—outdoor living has never been more appealing. So, let us embrace the warmth of the golden sun and the allure of outdoor elegance as we transform our outdoor spaces into sanctuaries of relaxation and style, ready to relish the joys of summer to the fullest.

n the hustle and bustle of our modern lives, taking a moment to prioritize our mental well-being is crucial. And guess what? A delightful and accessible remedy might just be sitting right under your nose—or rather, in your living room or office space! Indoor plants aren’t just pretty decorations; they’re like little green companions that can significantly enhance our mental health and overall wellness.

Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty, science-backed benefits. Numerous studies have delved into the positive impact of indoor plants on our mental well-being, unveiling a treasure trove of advantages. From reducing stress levels to boosting concentration and creativity, these leafy companions are like the unsung heroes of our homes and workplaces.

In this article, we will take a deep dive into the incredible health benefits that come with cultivating a diverse indoor garden. We’ll explore the findings of various studies that champion the idea that nurturing plants isn’t just a hobby; it’s a holistic approach to fostering a healthier mind and body.

HEALTH 2024 | 89

Purifying the Air

Indoor plants are natural air purifiers, playing a vital role in improving air quality by absorbing pollutants and releasing oxygen. Living in Malibu, where the fresh coastal breeze is prevalent, we can complement this natural freshness by introducing air-purifying plants into our homes. Studies conducted by NASA have identified several common indoor plants, such as spider plants (Chlorophytum comosum) and snake plants (Sansevieria trifasciata), as effective in removing toxins like formaldehyde and benzene from the air. Cleaner air can have a direct impact on cognitive function and overall mental well-being, fostering a healthier indoor environment.

Enhanced Concentration & Productivity

In addition to stress reduction, indoor plants have been linked to improved concentration and productivity. A study conducted by the University of Exeter found that introducing plants to an office environment increased employee productivity by 15 percent. Anyone working from home or in an office can harness the calming effect of greenery and the connection to nature to enhance focus and cognitive function, making indoor plants a valuable addition to workspaces and study areas.

Nurturing Well-Being Through Plant Care

The act of caring for indoor plants also plays a role in promoting mental wellness. Taking on the responsibility of watering, pruning, and tending to plants fosters a sense of purpose and accomplishment, aligning with the mindful and laid-back lifestyle often associated with coastal living. The routine of caring for living organisms can instill a sense of connection and mindfulness, encouraging us to be present in the moment and appreciate the nurturing aspects of plant care.

Positive Impact on Mood & Creativity

Indoor plants have the power to uplift mood and stimulate creativity, complementing the natural beauty here in Malibu. A study from the University of Texas demonstrated that the presence of plants in the home environment contributes to a higher level of emotional well-being. Furthermore, exposure to natural elements, even in the form of indoor plants, has been associated with increased creativity and problem-solving skills. We can create a visually pleasing and stimulating atmosphere by incorporating a variety of plants into our living and working spaces.

Stress Reduction & Anxiety Alleviation

Numerous studies have explored the stress-reducing benefits of indoor plants. A research study published in the Journal of Physiological Anthropology found that interacting with indoor plants, such as touching their leaves or simply gazing at them, can lead to physiological and psychological relaxation. The presence of plants has also been associated with lower levels of stress, anxiety, and fatigue, providing a natural and cost-effective way to manage the pressures of daily life.

Creating Our Environment

Integrating indoor plants into our living spaces transcends mere aesthetic enhancement; it embodies a purposeful investment in mental well-being. The therapeutic benefits offered by these happy green companions, spanning from air purification and stress alleviation to heightened concentration and creativity, seamlessly blends with the tranquil ambiance of our environment.

Through the thoughtful selection and attentive care of indoor plants tailored to our specific climate, we not only craft visually pleasing spaces but also foster a profound sense of purpose and mindfulness. As we immerse ourselves in the serenity, let our homes and workspaces "thrive with the vibrant."

Sotheby International's Shen Schulz arranges on-location concierge services

"We're the only local realty company with 'international' in our name," says Shen Schulz, rated #1 Malibu Broker Associate for Sotheby's International Real Estate. "That's huge because we can offer our concierge customer care and quality service across the world, keeping our customers very satisfied."

A lifelong resident of Malibu, Schulz knows what locals desire when it comes to investing abroad, the same way he keeps his finger on the pulse of the local real estate market. Schulz shares his "Malibu To Monaco International Sizzle" reel, and sizzle it does. Exemplifying the Riviera lifestyle globally, it explains the synchronicities and synergies between the coastlines of Malibu and the Rivieras across the world, from the French Riviera along Monaco and the Côte d'Azur of France to the allure of Italy, Australia, Japan, the United States, and other international markets.

Riviera is the Italian word for coastline, the video explains, noting that both Malibu and the Italian Riviera boast subtropical climates and vegetation and are noted for their stunning beauty. The gorgeous video showcases tantalizing cuisine, fine wines, and Italian culture. Then, the word "fitness" flashes across the screen amidst clips of people enjoying thrilling bicycle rides in Italy, followed by Malibu's

exhilarating surfing opportunities. However, the symmetries between the two locations also evince that both communities abound with interesting people and offer idyllic, relaxed lifestyles.

"Welcome to Malibu to Monaco," Schulz says. "Shen Realty Team is partnering with our international brokers to highlight regions of the world with al fresco life, moderated climates, inviting land and seascapes, incredible food, wine, cars, culture, and water sports, and fabulous homes and the stories behind them—all things that Sotheby's and I exemplify."

The one network of residential brokerage companies and their agents offering homes and real parcels for sale worldwide enables those in the market to search for properties globally and review a large inventory of luxury listings, including houses, condos, townhomes, villas, and more. As a Sotheby's broker, Schulz is only a phone call away from reaching helpful and knowledgeable agents in 1,115 offices across 84 countries and territories worldwide. With 26,500 sales associates and $143 billion in annual sales, Sotheby's expansive offerings impress clients greatly.

"Through our personal relationships, our sellers reach a highly qualified global clientele, and our buyers receive access to remarkable properties and agents worldwide," Schulz shares. "We help customers review homes based on popular destinations or lifestyles, whether beachfront, flyin, private island, metropolitan, wine and vineyard estates, or country living."

Schulz demonstrates the vast inventory of Sotheby’s luxurious international listings, noting that they range from St. Tropez to Japan, Australia and New Zealand to Ireland, and Hong Kong to Jamaica. Schulz invites anyone interested in international real estate and his listings to contact him to arrange viewings, visits, and purchasing of exclusive properties.

Fiji awaits you with Eytan Levin

Malibu Realtor and owner of Malibu Market & Design

Residents of Malibu and its surrounding communities thoroughly enjoy visiting Eytan Levin's Malibu Market & Design, which offers fresh, innovative interior design options for building or remodeling. Levin's design aesthetic excites, with offerings sourced from all over the globe in high demand.

Levin also owns Tides Reach Resort, a world-class, secluded resort in Taveuni, Fiji, where he assists those dreaming of a life on the islands find the perfect property for their needs.

The third largest island in Fiji, Taveuni is home to forests, beaches, wildlife, and crystal clear, 87-degree, inviting water.

"We have more than 10 acres of beach and mountain at Tides Reach. The boutique property is the gem of the island," says Levin. Currently, he also has a four-villa compound on the Bluffs at Matei in Taveuni. The unique property features four large, two-bedroom villas on three acres on the bluff overlooking the ocean with beach access. In other words, Levin is selling a piece of paradise for $2 million. He notes the property would be ideal for a purchaser interested in earning passive income by renting out some of the villas.

"The property is an absolutely phenomenal value as Fiji is still a bit undiscovered," Levin remarks, his enthusiasm for the island showing greatly. "Taveuni is a national park island and provides fun activities for all," he continues, adding that his expertise in acquiring and selling Fijian real estate is pivotal to a successful, streamlined acquisition.

"Those interested in purchasing the Fiji property should understand that things move more slowly there," Levin explains. "Freehold properties are our niche, and I only invest in those. Only five percent of Fiji constitutes freehold property, meaning one where a purchaser can obtain title to the land outright as opposed to entering into a lengthy lease of approximately 95 years."

Levin notes that Fiji has always been the jewel of the Pacific for those who live in New Zealand and Australia, adding that interest in owning Fiji properties is building worldwide.

"Anyone interested should contact me, and we will have the property owners provide a virtual tour of the four-villa offering," Levin says. "That will provide an encompassing overview of this truly unique property."

Wondering about the benefits of owning a property in Costa

del Sol?

Nick Söderblom can help you determine whether that option suits you best

"The Costa del Sol and Mallorca are a great place to live, work, and invest. The region has so much to offer, including stunning beaches, a vibrant lifestyle, and a strong economy," Nick Söderblom, an international realtor who lived in Malibu shares, explaining that the area's ideal climate, unique history and culture, exciting cuisine scene, cultural opportunities, and lifestyle are all factors that contribute to Forbes rating Costa del Sol as the number one place to live in the world.

Elaborating, Söderblom considers the market's 2024 overview.

"The Costa del Sol property market continues to be strong with heightened demand, especially from foreign buyers who accounted for 30 percent of the sales last year combined with a limited supply driving prices up," he says, adding, "The average price of a property on the Costa del Sol is currently up by 13 percent from the same time last year."

The Costa del Sol and Mallorca offer a variety of investment opportunities for both short-term and long-term investors. Rentable properties, such as apartments and villas, can provide attractive yields, while luxury properties offer the potential for capital appreciation, according to Söderblom.

"Investing in property on the Costa del Sol and Mallorca can be a profitable proposition, but it's important to do your research and choose the right property type and location," he advises. "Marbella remains the most expensive area of the Costa del Sol, with average prices significantly higher than in other towns and cities. However, there are some pockets of affordability, such as Sotogrande."

real estate 108 | MALIBUMAG.COM

Sotogrande: The Last Frontier

"Sotogrande is the place I recommend in Costa del Sol for many American clients,” Söderblom notes, adding, “It is very much like Malibu.”

Sotogrande, often referred to as a secret “last frontier” for the wealthy and famous, is a leafy residential area known for its discretion and seclusion, attracting individuals who value privacy and tranquility.

“Despite its high-profile visitors and residents, Sotogrande maintains an enigmatic quality and is not widely publicized in travel guides,” he shares. “The area is popular for its sports, such as golf and polo, and its total discretion, making it a preferred destination for those who wish to remain under the radar.”

Sotogrande affords a conducive environment for a healthy lifestyle, with its peaceful surroundings and a wide range of activities. The area is known for its luxurious spa facilities, such as the Elysium Almenara, which provides world-class beauty treatments. Moreover, Sotogrande is family-friendly, offering some of the best schools in Southern Spain and diverse and entertaining activities for families.

“Golf reigns supreme in this part of the Costa del Sol, home to no less than nine golf courses,” Söderblom notes. “Four are located in Sotogrande itself, including

Valderrama, the number one course in Europe, and Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, ranked seventh. Sotogrande also has six polo fields at Santa Maria with regular tournaments, with some of the world’s major competitions among them.”

Living in Sotogrande comes with a multitude of advantages, including its exceptional weather, convenient accessibility to airports that offer daily international flights, and access to some of the finest beaches on the coast along with the glamorous lifestyle that accompanies the vibrant city, according to Söderblom. He emphasizes, “A major benefit of living in Sotogrande is its safety. The resort is fully perimeterprotected and provides 24-hour live security.”

Söderblom suggests readers consider Sotogrande Luxury Village, Spain’s largest and first private master plan community. “The Luxury Village is Sotogrande’s latest project in a series of distinctive developments and real estate communities created to offer contemporary community living in this exclusive and celebrated destination,” Söderblom says.
