a r k h a m , O nt a r i o based company Uniram first made its mark in the collision repair market with the invention of the UR007, an innovative reclaiming blaster. Founded in 1980 by Japanese engineer Sam Yamamoto, the company originally manufactured dust collectors and pressure blasters. It was the combination of these two products that led to the design of the UR007, a unique feature that later became the industry standard. The product later went on to be sold in 11 countries, including Canada. The next breakthrough for Uni-ram came in 1988 when the company developed and patented the automatic cleaning system for paint spray guns. This pneumatically operated cleaner, known as the “Cascade” series, received instant acceptance by the car repair industry around the world. Sales increased when California passed a law prohibiting manual cleaning of the paint spray guns. This law eventually spread to the rest of United States, Canada and several countries in Europe. Four years later Uni-ram developed the highly innovative solvent distillation machines, the “Encore” series, with full explosion-proof certification under UL and CSA. This product
