At CONEL we know how important teaching is, and how rewarding a career it can be.

Teaching is a varied and colourful career, so ignite your passion for educating others by studying with us.

We have a range of training programmes that are designed for new or experienced teachers and lecturers, including:

Level 6/7

• PGCE Further Education validated by Canterbury Christ Church University

Level 5

• C ambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching (CELTA) • Diploma in Education and Training (DET formerly DTLLS) validated by Canterbury Christchurch University Tottenham Centre only • Diploma in Education and Training (formerly DTLLS) day time at Enfield Centre • Specialist Diploma in Teaching English: Literacy and ESOL Tuesday afternoon/evening 2 - 5.30pm • Specialist Diploma Teaching Disabled Learners Taught three hours a week, Thursday evening 3.30 - 7pm

Level 4

• Certificate in Education and Training (CET formerly CTLLS)

Taught 1 day or 1 evening a week, 6.15 - 8.45pm at Tottenham or Enfield. The awarding body at Tottenham is Canterbury Christ Church University and at Enfield City & Guilds

Level 3

• Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) • Award in Education and Training (formerly

PTLLS) Taught daytime or evening

We are a centre of excellence for Teacher Training with a range of specialist courses that lead to great careers in teaching.

• A ward in English for Literacy and Language Teaching – Taught evening only 3.30 - 6pm at Tottenham or Enfield • Award in Mathematics for Numeracy Teachers Taught evening only 3.30 - 6pm at Enfield

Level 2

• S upporting Adults and Young People in Essential Skills Award

Our Pass Rate 95.8% of Teacher Education students at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London achieved their qualifications in 2016-17.

Bradley Davis

Bradley Davis decided to make a career change a few years ago and do something he found more fulfilling.

He turned to teacher training and completed his Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) course at CONEL’s Enfield Centre. He says of his new career choice: “Before I started teacher training success was all about my accomplishments, after it’s about giving back to society.”

From CONEL student to employee, Bradley now teaches Employability Skills and Mathematics at the College.

He said of his work: “By inspiring others to learn, they dream more, I help them build their dreams.”

Changing lives CONEL has been a wonderful place to study and learn the skills that I have needed to become a successful teacher.

During my PGCE my lecturers were amazing and extremely supportive in my endeavours to pass the course successfully.

The qualification I achieved was a Level 7 PGCE. I am now a Business Studies Teacher and Enrichment Officer working at CONEL college.

My job is very challenging yet rewarding as everyday I am influencing and changing lives for the better. My students are learning new things and I learn from them also.
