A famous saying by Al Franken goes like "Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless its a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from." I think mistakes are necessary. It shapes you to become a better, wiser and a stronger person who is prepared to face further challenges as well. I personally believe that learning things the harder way always has more impact. It no longer is just an incident but becomes a lesson for life, something that you try not to repeat. When we fear of making mistakes, we can often see some amount of hesitation in our work. This prevents us from developing newer and more innovative way of doing any particular job. When we first started walking, we would stumble and fall down within few steps, until we learned how to walk perfectly. Mistakes are like these falls, without which we would never excel at anything. But one thing we should always keep in mind is we should never let these mistakes stop us from continuing the work. Mistakes are lessons for us, which help us grow and reach newer heights. Speech On Mistakes

My Biggest Mistake I never knew when it started, this obsession. Didn't even realize how slowly and steadily what I thought I could control controlled me. I am not like most people my likes, dislikes and feelings differ from most of the crowd. When did I become someone who cared so much what other people think of me? Now that I think about it, it baffles me how I slowly and steadily from being an individual who preaches about being different suddenly became someone who just wanted to fit in to other people's expectations. And suddenly I feel I woke up to realize what kind of a slave I had become. Well to start up on my mistakes, my first one was ever thinking that I can be in a relationship with my best friend. But who knew I had already screwed this up to by constantly living in loathing and vengeance. I had to settle for the second best and did not get the institution of my choice. I cried. But this stupid human tendency to want something which is never good for you, it wasn't done with me. Oh no not yet it said and dragged me back. This institution still gave me that opportunity to grow. But no I went and ruined it there too with not one but four people. And now I m left here looking at wreckage. Examining what went wrong and now I realize it. It wasn't them it was me. I could have easily minded my own business. Stuck to my priorities but I instead signed the sheet to my own ruin. I guess it was my fault. I have suddenly woken up as a much wiser person. Also the question how do I keep getting dragged into such stuff? I am really young for this. My Biggest Mistake Essay

Mistakes Were Made

A important aspect in the book Mistakes were made (but not by me) is the pyramid of choice. The pyramid of choice would be defined as the process of making a decision when both choices have no clear advantages on either side. In the beginning, the choices that are present only seem a "millimeter apart." Once a side is chosen however, the person will feel urgency to self–justify their decision. A trend of "entrapment" is created, which is the constant self–justification of an unclear choice made, making both sides of a decision miles apart. The authors of Mistakes were Made (but not by me), Tavris and Aronson, did prove the existence of such a pyramid when they gave multiple examples of entrapment throughout the text. One example of someone

Why Are Mistakes Wrong

My Favorite Mistake When I think of my mistakes, it was a challenge for me to identify the biggest, let alone my favorite. After thinking upon of what I thought were simple insignificant mistakes, I found something that is also responsible for my happiness and health today. My biggest mistake was not getting injured, but continuing to train injured and treating the shooting pain as soreness. This injury lead me to many places, and through many treatments. It has been painful and arduous but the outcome helped pave the way I live my life. It is the summer of 2014 and I am now on my second swim team. My favorite coach was relieved of his position and not long after his departure, the head coach left too. Being a dramatic fourteen–year–old girl, I unconsciously decided that I already did not like the new coach. While she was the coach of my group, I tore my supraspinatus and strained my infraspintus (both muscles of the rotator cuff) and I describe the pain as sharp and constant. After practicing for a few days, I realized that my shoulder was not supposed to feel like this and I should see someone. My mom booked me a doctors appointment with an orthopedic doctor, specializing shoulder treatment. As you can suspect, they told me the thing I feared most, "You can't swim for 12 weeks," I got into the car and I cried. I cried because I wouldn't be able to do the one thing I loved. I cried because I knew people who stopped swimming because of an injury not that much different that the one I had. As a motivated fourteen–year–old, determined to not let this problem stop my training, I went practice every day of those twelve weeks. Though I could not move my arms, I kicked laps for two hours a day. Besides my injury, the team ran into a plethora of problems, and the team folded a few weeks later, which meant I was out of a team. That same summer, the summer before freshman year, I tried out for my another team in my town, which is my current team. My shoulder had rested its 12 weeks, and I was cleared by the doctor, I could resume training. Starting off everything went as planned, then I experienced the same pain, and being afraid what my new coach would say, I said nothing. Two entire, excruciating weeks

Personal Narrative Essay : My Favorite Mistake

People of all ages, sizes, color, and different genders, do things routinely and correctly when they are working or maybe even when they are eating. Although, some people also make mistakes daily, we make them more often than not and sometimes they can be good things. We as people are only human, we all make mistakes and it is important to know that sometimes when we make mistakes, we can learn from them so we do not do them again, so we can make a better option, decision or choice when we do certain activities or things. We make mistakes so we can learn, and that is why it is okay for them to happen. I completely believe that making mistakes is the key to understanding and improving ourselves and society. A man named Lewis Thomas, who is a biologist, wrote about people and making mistakes. This man, Lewis Thomas, understood and believed that sometimes making certain mistakes or doing something incorrect, can cause problems, but it does provide others and the person who made the mistake not to do it again, it allows people to learn and to improve and make better choices and decisions in their life, so we can improve our society and us people, who live in it. When I was younger, I had decided that I did not want to do my homework that day, that day, I wanted to read a book and watch movies. When I went to school the next day, I regretted it immensely. Writing Mistakes That Most Writers Overlook

There's one piece of furniture that every writer once cannot live without. It's a dustbin filled with rolled–up balls of paper that contain tiny scribbles and blocks of angst. Granted we're in the digital age and writers are now moving on to drafts of incomplete write–ups stored on their devices, along with angry footnotes that probably read like this – "She waited with bated breath for... Ugh. I'm waiting with bated breath for an idea. Arrgh!"

The mind of a writer can be a truly terrifying thing. Isolated, neurotic, caffeine–addled, crippled by procrastination, and consumed by feelings of panic, self–loathing, and soul–crushing inadequacy. And that's on a good day.

And especially when you'rewriting for sales or advertising, remember to decipher all those technical terms for your audience lest their eyes glaze over. The best example of this would be Apple's copywriting that manages to dumb–down even high–flung technical terms like 'anodized 6000 aluminum' by snugly placing them in simple, uncomplicated sentences.

It's also a good idea to run it by your friend/colleague to have an outside perspective on your writing. Feel it in your bones – Write only when you're bubbling with enthusiasm. Readers need to feel your energy spilling over the words. If you're feeling tired or jaded, take a break. You don't want your writing to be

Everyone Makes Mistakes

The expression "everyone makes mistakes," leads to feelings of comfort in knowing we don't have to worry about our misconceptions, but when it comes to diction, grammatical, and conventional errors there's a lot to worry about. Whether it's an error in speaking, in an email, in a printed piece of writing, in a social network status, or even in a text message those errors will reflect how you are perceived. When writing we always have a purpose and an audience, these two components can help determine the style of writing we should use and how attentive we should be to grammar errors and the correct usage of words. Although writing for fun and with an audience of your friends seems like proper grammar and diction isn't very important you may want to reconsider this. Texting your friends doesn't have to require impressive grammar or language but simply checking for mistakes can make it seem like you care and make you seem smarter. Texting "its alright" makes it seem as if you don't know the difference between "its" and "it's". Texting a simply "k" might seem as if you're not interested in talking to the individual or it seems as if you're to lazy to reply with "okay."; simply writing the whole word changes the perspective making it seem like you care about your friend's opinion. Texting "The effectiveness of my hair product makes my hair look prodigious!" makes it a chore for your friend to text you back because of your immense diction but simply saying "My shampoo makes my hair look fabulous!" makes you sound like a normal teenager. Same goes with social networking, when writing a status having proper grammar and appropriate diction is important because you don't want to seem like you're uneducated, such as writing "Today f******** sucked" makes you seem disrespectful and as if you're not considerate of those around you, making statuses that can be seen by anyone should be a way to express yourself but also show who you are. Having a status that said "Today wasn't the best day, but tomorrow's a new day." shows that you had a bad day but you're an optimistic and positive

I have made many mistakes in my life but the one that protrudes to me and I learned the most from is when I threw my sister's phone in the pool. The lessons i learned from making this mistake was to not be as competitive when we are playing games for fun and to not take losing so passionately. It was a scorching, summer day when my sister and I walked over to our neighbors house to go swimming. After arriving to their house we immediately jumped in the pool because of how scorching it was outside. After an hour of having a great time in the pool playing numerous pool games we stopped to have a quick break and a snack. At this point I was starting to get frantic because I am a type of person that hates losing and I am really competitive. Shortly after eating the snack and taking a quick break we went into the house to find a toothpick so we could play a game called toothpick. Looking back at all the situation so far I can't understand why I was getting so mad just because I was losing in a game that was just for fun. Shortly after we jumped back into the pool so we could start playing the toothpick game. Immediately after we started

Mistake, an action or judgment that is misguided or wrong. They are what make or break us.Sadly, some people's mistakes are permanent. This was the case for mine. I, as an immature teen, decided to get involved in other people's drama and I chose sides. Rumors and lies that I believed by a friend's point of view without even hearing the entire story. My mom always said do not get involved. People learn from mistakes. Therefore, I definitely learned from my own that last a lifetime. During Clement's trip to Boston and New York, my friends and I decided to stay up late in our room because we have our long trip to New York on the bus (already a bad idea). Truth or dare, two lies one truth, would you rather, and regrets were the main things we were doing during that night in the room. We started saying regrets and my friend ("Alexis"anonymous for protection), said hers. Nevertheless, I already heard the rumors and lies my friend "Nicole" told me surrounding the "incident". My other friends have previously told my when i was younger that Alexis was bad news and I shouldn't be hanging out with because she is a so–called fairweather friend. Envidently enough, everything my friends were telling me sounded true to me because of the remarks on her behavior. Alexis said" I regret telling everyone that I did it with him. I know it's wrong, but I was forced to". In the midst of nowhere, she started to cry and she still kept talking about "I know I don't look the type to do so, but I did anyways". Yet, for once I felt bad for her and the story because then I started to believe Brock was an awful person. Although, I didn't feel comfortable with her like I used to, it felt well, wrong. When we got back to school from the trip and spring break was basically over. Nicole was doing her fact checking asked "Brock" if he ever "did it" with Alexis. Brock said" Ew, no! She said that! Why would I even do that with her? We just played basketball with "Chris". She is like way older than me!" I tried not to get involved, but I was in the middle of everything. People were saying bogus ideas to prove she lied. In concequence, I was drowning in the two ideas, and I didn't know what to do. My instinct was to not be a part of the drama and

5 Mistakes And Can Make Your Blog Useless Too often bloggers complain that after a great start, a year later their blog is as dead as can be. This is a common problem that almost always revolves around a small list of common mistakes made by the blogger. A blogger can sit back and expect the blog to do all of the work for him or her, which is a terrible way to approach blogging. A successful blogger would tell you that great blogging takes a certain amount of dedication and hard effort to make it work. The more professional and crisp your blog looks, the more your readers will take you seriously. If you are interesting in boosting traffic, you should try a more serious layout or presentation for your blog. If you can afford to hire a professional, you should. If you choose to do it yourself however, you must make sure the end product is good. If you have a sloppy blog that looks "homemade" you will not likely have a great response. Try different layouts and approaches to see what gets you the most traffic. Graphics Overload Pictures can add a ton to your blog and draw in more readers. However, when done excessively, much like ads, pictures can drive people away. The main reason too many pictures can ruin a blog is because there are many web surfers who still use slow internet connections. When they try to load your page, it will take an excessively long time to do so. This in turn will likely drive them and anyone else with this problem away. Try limiting to a few pictures per page. Paragraph On Mistakes

Everyone, at some point in their life, has made a mistake. Sometimes we get lucky and only falter a little, making it through the problem relatively intact. Other times, we mess up a lot and have to fix what was damaged over a long period of time. However, the same is true for most, if not all cases–those who make the mistake learn from it. Often times, our failures teach us valuable lessons that we only gained because of the experience we gathered after messing up. I have personally achieved a wealth of knowledge and experience just from all of my own little mishaps, and a few major ones.

One instance of a failure that taught me well was when I tried to find a quick solution for boiling eggs. I was so tired of what I considered the ...show more content...

It's obvious that the mistake I made taught me a very useful lesson that day–never try to boil eggs in the microwave.

Another turbulent time that taught me through failure was when I tried to arrange a birthday party for my sister. Everything was supposed to be arranged by me, so I went out a bought the invitation cards, party favors, balloons, decorations, food, and a few gifts. I filled out the invitations early and put them in a box to store them until I was ready to send them. Time flew by fast between daily life with my kids and responsibilities, and before I knew it the day of the party was upon me. Quickly that morning I decorated and cooked and prepared everything. As the hour of the party came and went, no one showed up but the birthday girl, whom I had called personally. Later it occurred to me that I hadn't sent out the invitations! That was why no one had come. I soon learned from that mistake to be more organized and manage my time better when planning events.

Yet another example of a failure that became instructive was when I tried totile my bathroom floor. I simply did not want to dish out the big bucks to have a worker do my tiling, which I assumed would be an easy job. I bought the necessary items and dove into the project with an eager do–it–yourself attitude and absolutely no clue about what I was doing. I tried diligently to tackle the task, but in the end, I only managed to get grout everywhere and
