INTERVIEW

BLTRX

An interview with the designer of the hand made luxurious BLTRX bags

CI: When did you first start designing bags?

CI: How would you describe your brands style?

T: I first started designing bags right after my fashion & textile studies in LISAA Paris. Leather clutches with silkscreen print of a wooden texture, which I have engraved myself on a Linoleum base, then turned it into a silkscreeen print.

T: BLTRX style is eclectic, colorful and urban. The cut of the bag is sophisticated and based on the graphic triangle shape, combining textiles, colors and textures, which is my real love. This is where i find my joy of creation, exploring the endless possibilities of only one design and how its changes completely when I change its materials and play with its colors.

CI: What inspires you? T: I collect inspiration from my travels, films, magazines, everyday urban life and music, which I put all together into a complete visual story with every bit. CI: What are some challenges you have had to face as a designer? T: I think that the most problematic issues i’m facing as an independent designer, has nothing to do with design but mostly with business development. Marketing, production, accounting and managing the brand into a successful place those are the real questions i’m dealing with and mostly learning upon the road. As production is getting larger these days, i’m trying to find more talented people to join our couture team.

CI: What is the best part about being a designer? T: The best part about being a designer is to see your collection come to life. From the idea to final product, and to be proud of it (the hardest thing) It’s even better when costumers respond to the collection and buy the bags. CI: What are your plans for the future of the BLTRX brand? T: I’ve got some great plans for BLTRX, expanding the collections, new collaborations and new website all are in the making these days!

The Art of

Hani Adriana

CI: Tell us about yourself?

CI: What inspires you?

A: I was born on August 30th 1996 & grew up in a small village near Vienna in Austria. I am a mostly self taught illustrator, filmmaker and photographer. Other then that I enjoy snowboarding, reading & going out for dinner with friends.

A: I could not pinpoint a particular source of inspiration even if I wanted to, I suppose it is something I gather from the many different visual and aesthetic impressions I have accumulated over the years, be it from the cinema, the internet, or just every day life.

CI: When did you realize that you wanted to pursue art? A: Art was always just a hobby to me. I started drawing when I was very young, and stopped at around 11 or so. A lot of my father’s friends are artists, so he’d show me around their studio, in an enthusiastic attempt to get me to work again. I was mightily impressed Never in my wildest dreams would I have believed I would ever be good enough to pursue art professiona lly. Then, one not so busy Summer, I was quite bored and luckily happened to find some oil paint and a canvas in the basement. I was 15 then, and that’s when things started to change.

CI: What challenges have you had to face as an artist? A: There are a lot of notable challenges, especially when it comes to promoting oneself. I know it’s important, and social media is a great tool to do so, but really I’d rather spend more time actually working. CI: What are some of your hopes & goals for the future? A: I suppose a major goal is to be successful in what I do. But then again, what exactly defines success? Having the whole world admire your body of work? I’d rather my style didn’t appeal to everyone - If you ask me, it’s controversy that adds a certain quality to one’s work.
