CAMP BASICS

WHY COCA?

OUR AMAZING FACULTY

Our campers enjoy a unique and fun-filled summer experience taught by professional artists and teachers! COCA’s talented teaching artists also work professionally as exhibiting artists or performers throughout the region.

OUR PERSONALIZED APPROACH

We provide a safe, comfortable, arts-learning environment where our campers can truly enjoy art and the art-making process. Many of our camps are multidisciplinary and are taught by multiple teaching artists. COCA camps are designed to engage all types of learners.

PRESENTATIONS & PERFORMANCES

Campers learn in a FUN, RELAXED environment where they can express their creativity and gain self-confidence. Each Friday, campers have an opportunity to spotlight the work created throughout the week.

A LONGER SUMMER

Our camps start the day after Memorial Day and run through August 20, providing your family with 12 full weeks of summer arts opportunities!

NO EXTRA FEES

All art supplies, groceries, technology supplies, and equipment, as well as field trips, are included (when applicable) in the camp price.

A VARIETY OF OPTIONS FOR SUMMER FUN

With hundreds of camps and a variety of options, COCA offers summer arts camp experiences that meet your family’s needs. Choose from indoor, outdoor, and virtual camps, as well as morning, afternoon, and full day camp options.

JOIN US THIS SUMMER & FIND YOUR PASSION! 4 | 2021 Summer Camps Guide

Upon arrival to COCA’s campus each day, staff, teaching artists, teaching assistants, and campers will provide responses to a short screening questionnaire. Temperatures will be taken and recorded using a non-contact digital thermometer. Masks are to be worn at all times on the COCA campus in both indoor and outdoor spaces. Camp activities will be modified to maintain social distancing at all times. There will be no shared supplies for in-person camps, and we will be operating with limited camp sizes. Campers will be given a break from activities every 60–90 minutes to wash hands. Hand sanitizer will be available in the classrooms. Families are also encouraged to have hand sanitizer in the car for use after camp. While our drinking fountains are closed, our touchless water bottle filling station will remain open. Campers are expected to bring their own water bottle. Campers enrolled in outdoor camps will only go inside to use the restroom or refill their water bottles. Snack/break locations will remain outdoors, staggered and locations spread and an outdoor lunch location is available for families who select that option. There will be no microwave, ice, dishes, coffee, or utensils for use, and there will be no food sharing in classrooms or at lunchtime. All high-touch areas and floors will be sanitized frequently during and inbetween camps using Electrostatic spray equipment. We thank you for your cooperation and commitment to the health and safety of our entire COCA community. View COCA’s complete Health & Safety Procedures:

HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES

At COCA, the well-being of our community continues to guide our decision-making. Our staff and faculty have been hard at work ensuring that our COCA family will be able to connect, learn, and create in a safe and welcoming environment. COCA’s Health & Safety Procedures have been approved by St. Louis County. We have been open and operating safely since last August and continue to review our procedures to ensure all protocols are in accordance with the latest public health recommendations.
