It’s the First Sign of Spring as Cloud Production’s Ever so Popular “Springtime in Ohio” Craft Show
Returns to the Hancock County Fairgrounds for the 36th Year May 4th & 5th

Cloud Productions is excited to bring fun and excitement to the Hancock County Fairgrounds for the 36th annual Springtime in Ohio craft show. It is sure to be a fun weekend and a perfect place to shop for Mothers Day, which happens to be the following Sunday!

Our artists and crafters of distinction have beautiful quality offerings that you don’t want to miss, filling 8 buildings and lining the walkways and pathways by food row. Flowers by Lish from Portage will again be bringing an array of hanging baskets and planters to decorate the show and the 1950 Ford pick-up for some great photo ops! And of course she will have a booth full of flowers to brighten up your yard and patio for spring. Get an Early Bird ticket online for Saturday to have the best selection to choose from!

As always we will have food offerings, and this year includes an international flair of choices. Just check out pages 14-16 for the amazing selection of savory and sweet foods to enjoy, along with fresh brewed teas, lemonades, specialty coffees and so much more!

Cloud Productions’ Esther’s Wheel of Fun is spinning in the Enter to Win booth along with the Daisy Drop in Building I. If you picked up a flyer while traveling to shows, or shops, you can bring that flyer and get a free spin or a free plinko drop. Or give a donation to spin the wheel and win a prize! All donations will go to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Explorers. Enter to Win drawings will start at 10:30 Saturday morning and continue throughout the weekend with great gifts donated by our wonderful exhibitors.

After you shop and spend $50, come to the Enter to Win booth or the Show Office to receive a free gift bag.

All our vendors who advertised in this edition of the Show News have contest entries to give out to shoppers Saturday and Sunday...see page 17 for more details.

Over the years, Cloud Productions has always strived to make shows family-friendly with vendor offerings and entertainment. Throughout the weekend we will have The Two of Us singing in Building J and we can hear The Trombone Guy at the gazebo playing his trombone. The Romick Railway will be on the grounds for train rides at $4.00 per ride on Saturday and Sunday. A special visit from two of our favorite princesses, Belle and Rapunzel, happens on Saturday from 10:30am - 2:30pm in Building B.

A change on the grounds is that the Show Office has been moved to the north side of Building A and it sits back a little bit. Remember, the Show Office is where you will go if you need help, have a question, or need lost and found. If you are a prize winner you will need to go to Enter to Win inside Building I. Our courtesy shuttles will be picking up in front of the Fair Office throughout the weekend.

ONLINE TICKET SALES has started through Ticket Spice. Go to our website www.cloudshows.biz or social media to get the link to get either general admission or Early Bird tickets. There is no coupon at the gate but there is a discount of $1.00 per ticket when you purchase two or more general admission tickets online! It’s hard to believe it has been 3 years since my husband, Dean Mengert passed. He was a dad, grandpa, friend, farmer, and animal lover.

You may have met him over the years if you hopped a courtesy ride and the driver would talk your ear off about trains, weather and of course shopping at the event. It was not uncommon to see his passengers laughing and chatting away with him. Dean should have worked for the health department as a food inspector because he loved sampling all the food offerings during the weekend and usually, he was spoiled with “samples” from food vendors. Then you would usually hear him promoting all the tastings he had

sending friends and customers to try for themselves.

Cancer is an ugly thing and Dean fought the fight for 7 years. He was bigger than life and full of love even when days were hard for him. Don’t take a day for granted. Tell someone you love them

Carpe Vitam Creations

Southern California Native Lori Tarlentino is a passionate, self-taught acrylic fluid artist happily calling Central Ohio her home. She has always been a crafty person and found a love for acrylic fluid art about four years ago. While inspiration for Lori’s art comes from the ocean, beaches, and nature, the desire behind her art is to elicit peace, joy, and tranquility, allowing the viewer to get lost in the flow, direction, movement, and the blending of the colors. She tells us, “Carpe Vitam Creations is where I spend a majority of my time, but I have never considered it a job. Acrylic Fluid Art (and being creative) is something I love to do.” Lori’s supportive husband helps market, manage and attend craft shows/art fairs to sell her art and gifts. They love spending the time together and getting the chance to meet new people everywhere they go! Stop by Lori’s Carpe Vitam Creations of acrylic fluid art on canvas, hand-embellished glass cabochon gifts of pendant & earring sets, bookmarks, purse hangers, hair pins, and other handmade gifts. Ingenium Woodworks

Lisa Thompson and her husband created Ingenium Woodworks. This husband-wife team works together to blend their love of woodworking and gardening into fantastical creations. Their birdhouses bring whimsy to the garden in fairytale designs while providing shelter for small birds with a 1.25 inch entrance hole and a nest clean-out on the side. The Thompson’s finer side of woodworking is evident on their end-grain, cutting and charcuterie boards, which are comprised of maple, walnut, and cherry woods, providing beautiful pieces that are perfect for entertaining, yet durable for everyday use. The Thompsons and Ingenium Woodworks can be located in Building FA, Booth 47.

Artfelt Sentiments

Twenty years ago, Carol Porter went to a stamping party with her daughter and fell in love with rubber stamping and making cards. A year later, she created Artfelt Sentiments and entered the first show. The initial starter baskets of Christmas cards have grown to three tables with a variety of cards for every occasion. Scrapbooks and notepads have been added to the selection of choices! Carol says she genuinely has fun making the cards and going to shows to see all her regular customers. Carol and her Artfelt Sentiments of handmade greeting cards, scrapbooks, and other papercraft items are in Building C/D, Booth 4.

Amazing Metal Creations Glorified Graphics LLC

Greg and Brenda Hamm founded Glorified Graphics LLC a few years ago after lots of soul-searching. Their business is unique Christ-centered apparel and gifts for babies and adults. It has become a family affair with daughter Faith involved. The talented artist behind the pen and ink drawings is Brenda’s dad Phil, and his inspiration comes from the farm he lived on as a child. Phil brings the homes of loved ones to life on paper. The Hamms are a family who love the Lord, have an abundance of faith and love to share it with others, hoping everyone enjoys their pieces as much as they do. Glorified Graphics LLC is in Building I, Booth 11.

Grandma Irma’s

Nicole Fleming proudly brings her Grandma Irma Sauces to Springtime in Ohio. This business owner, author, and life coach has made the Grandma Irma Sauces for over seven years. The sauces are authenticated with secret seasonings, using non-gmo and gluten-free ingredients, and offers a sugar-free variety also. Nicole tells us that Grandma Irma Sauces gives annually to various organizations and supports Trauma Recovery. Nicole and Grandma Irma Sauces are in Building A, Booth 55.

Dandelion Crafts

Julia Barchent and Lindsey Barchent first experienced the Cloud Shows a few years ago when their family served food at the Findlay shows through a 4-H club. They loved seeing all the exhibitors with such an array of creativity. Today, Dandelion Crafts is a family-owned business, feauturing laser engraved creations. The Barchents continue to enjoy opportunities to spend time together at the shows and exploring new crafts to create. Wood crafts on display include pens, serving trays, cutting boards, and their ever-popular wooden magnets, fabric magnets, and keychains. Dandelion Crafts by Julia and Lindsey are in Building FA, Booth 10.

Beougher Honey Farm

Mark Beougher and the Beougher Honey Farms bring local honey to Springtime in Ohio. He is keeping honey making and bee keeping alive as a family tradition since his grandfather was a beekeeper during WWII. Educating the public about honey and honey bees is a very important aspect of the Beougher Honey Farm. Managing about 250 honey bee colonies across three counties north of Dayton, Mark endeavors to deliver the best tasting and highest quality of raw local honey by their own honeybees right here in the Buckeye state. Beougher Honey Farms recognize that honeybees are a natural treasure and are committed to help save them. You’ll find Mark and the Boeougher honey in Building A, Booth 64.

Lee’s Freeze Dried Frenzy

Sparkling Designs

Cheryl Rehm created Sparkling Designs when her mother had dementia. Her mother wore jewelry everyday and Cheryl wanted to hold tight and cherish those memories. While going through her mother’s costume and new jewelry, Cheryl sorted the precious pieces and made jewelry trees for her daughters and sister. These jewelry trees remind Cheryl everyday of her mother’s beauty. The trees can be displayed year round, not just at Christmas. It’s a great tribute to all mothers, so please reach out to Cheryl if you’d like her to do the same for you – make a memory tree of your mother’s, a friend or grandmother’s jewelry instead of the jewelry just put in a box where no one would see it again. Cheryl and her Sparkling Designs are in Building C/D, Booth 3.

Carlene Hoover’s whole family is involved in the Lee’s Freeze Dried Frenzy. Her grandkids loved the freeze dried candy when they first tried it, and a machine was purchased, then Carlelne researched how to produce the candy. The family happily taste-tests as the treat is frequently made at home, experimenting with different flavor options, and helps with packaging the candies. Carlene’s grandkids love working the shows as they learn to market and sell the product while communicating with the customers. They love what they do and enjoy talking to the customers. Carlene says to stop by, say hello, have a sample and decide your favorite!

Lee’s Freeze Dried Frenzy is in Building A, Booth 44.

The scRUMptious Dessert

Gabrielle Little’s boozy bakery will have all of us hooked from the first bite! Her specialized cakes have rum as the secret ingredient that lets us indulge in the cakes’ delicious flavor. Gabrielle’s early baking began by helping her mother bake rum cakes for the holiday season. And with her grandmother’s encouragement, Gabrielle pursued a baking and pastry degree, which has led her to living out her drunken bakery dream. Go treat yourself at Gabrielle’s scRUMptious Desserts and perhaps even put in a special order of rum cakes for one of your upcoming events. Building I, Booth 28.

Giving Back to the Community by way of Ester’s Wheel and Enter-to-Win

Every year Cloud Productions supports the local communities where the shows are by giving back. At all Cloud Production shows, special causes are chosen to receive the monitary donations recieved from the Esther’s Wheel and the Plinko - Drop. Some of the benefactors have been the Little Train on CR 99, Food Banks, Art Scholarships at FHS, Habitat for Humanity, Cattlemen’s Association in Memory of Dean Mengert and Toys for Tots.

This 2024 Springtime in Ohio is an opportunity to again support the Hancock County Sheriff’s Explorers, which is a program offered to those interested in the Sheriff’s Department, who are between ages 14 & 20, that want to gain a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experience, competition and other activities. The Hancock County Explorers would benefit from this donation by going towards their projects & uniforms. Their volunteer youth group is growing with many young people wanting to learn and be a part of this program.

Tell your friends and family about this awesome donation opportunity that is made possible from our shuttle rides or Esther’s Wheel of Fun and Plinko at the Enter-to-Win booth during the show weekend.

MY FAMILY STORY

After the 2023 October show there was a November wedding squeezed in between the October and first November show out east in Delaware. My nephew Wes and his beautiful wife Maria had a simply beautiul wedding and Lainey my mom at 90 busted some wheelchair dancing. Dani and Mac also made it out to the wedding and we had a great time. Then back to Ohio from the short trip to finish prepping and leave for Muncie, Indiana. Next to Wilmington for the new “Sugar Plum Holiday Market” where I was joined by my two granddaughters, Kenzie & Madi and my daugher, Dani to assist at the Sugar Plum show. We celebrated an early Christmas while they were there visiting from Tennessee with my son and family.

My granddaughters are still on the move and kicking butt in travel softball and they are both TEENAGERS! Mr. Moose, their Frenchie is now 2 and spoiled. He gets to travel with the family to tournaments and have sleepovers with neighbors while taveling. My little Max is growing up and playing soccer and baseball. It’s hard to believe he is in 2nd grade already! I miss seeing them all the time and not having the girls at the shows. Dani and Cliff are enjoying the sports travel with the kids and are busy with work.

My son Mac, Jillian and 2 grandsons I get to see more often because they are just 2 hours down I-75. I was able to celebrate the holidays with them and be there for their Buzz and Woody birthday parties! Edison takes after his dad in looks and activeness. He is in preschool and even started to ice skate and now is a little ice hockey player! I have to say seeing little 4 year old boys wearing the hockey gear and learning to skate while hitting a puck is priceless. Harrision is 2 and loves to follow his brother around and he is a jabberbox all the time.

I went out east over the holdiays to have Christmas with my Mom sisters and their families. My sister, Susan drove back with me, and we got to spend some time together and she found a new puppy (Bernie doodle named Gia, she’s black and white and very sweet) to take home. Kim made it down once and we hung out in town and took a drive up to the lake which was a nice time and an excuse to get out of the office.

Lasty, Cloud Productions took a leap by starting another show in Wilmington, Ohio to kick off the holiday season on Thanksgiving weekend. We are continuing to work and grow this show at a fantastic facility, that is all-inclusive, to make for a fun girls or family overnight. If you didn’t make it last year, add it to your calendar this year!

I’m looking forward to a fun summer and holidays meeting up with the family again in 2024. Making memories is the best thing for your heart – love every minute of it.

Unique Lamp Designs by Bill

Bill Vance is really enjoying letting his creative process flow! He is a retired owner-operator steel hauler and a retired tree remover, yet for the past two years Bill has been making “absolutely one of a kind table and floor lamps and wind chimes.”

CUnfortunately, he does not take customer consignments at this time. Bill likes it when Bev, his barometer, likes his creations and encourages him to continue with his creativity. Check out all the Unique Lamp Designs by Bill in Building A, Booth 21.

David Riethman crafts

David Riethman learned woodworking from his dad while his high school art teacher encouraged his love of painting. He started participating in craft shows in the 1980s with his mom and cousin, and while the styles have changed over the years, he continues to enjoy making his seasonal and Americana woodcrafts and greeting people at the different shows. David’s husband Doug, who creates floral designs, joined the effort about four years ago. “It has become a fun hobby and we both enjoy meeting people and creating items that they can use to decorate for each season.” David Riethman Crafts are in Building E, Booths 11-13.

Boes Creations

Imagine taking a maple branch and transforming it into a realistic flower… one flower becomes two and soon you have enough for a full arrangement.

Woodcarver Cindy Boes, owner of CBoes Creations LLC, was fascinated by this woodcarving talent she saw at a Dayton Woodcarver show and they taught her the trade. Her wooden flowers looking like beautiful daisies are great conversation pieces. Cindy has also begun incorporating her creations into arrangements using teacups and she makes saddle arrangements too. CBoes Creations are in Building E, Booth 10.

ELM JEWELRY DESIGNS

Erin Buscetta’s ELM Jewelry Designs are steampunkinspired. Since each piece is one-of-a-kind, it’s more than just jewelry -- it’s a wearable piece of art. Erin deconstructs old watches, repurposes found antique objects, reuses old leather and other found items that are usually old and rusty, and files and cleans all the keys and metal pieces she comes across. Erin prefers to find antique jewelry that has already been broken, since it’s not only more of a challenge for her, but she also feels guilty breaking apart something that has survived over 50 years! Erin’s pieces are for both men and women. Erin shares, “I’ve been told I have a very unique style and the ability to match designs to a person’s personality. I love when people say to me, ‘I have never seen anything like this before!’ It means I’m on the right path! I’m originally from New Jersey, and received my degree in Jewelry Design from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After years of NYC life, I moved to Ohio to be with family. I am a full time ‘lab rat’ as my Mother calls me, I work in medical research as a Lab Tech. I love art and jewelry, but I’m also a science nerd. I’m blessed to be able to live both my passions. This will be my 14th year doing art shows. Time flies when you’re having fun!“ Erin’s in Building A, Booth 53.

Decadent Decor & Design

Springtime in Ohio welcomes first time exhibitor Jennifer Farison who is a true lover of home decor. She always enjoyed watching her mother decorate for the holidays and today, Jennifer is following in her mother’s footsteps with a passion for holiday and celebration design. After years of decorating her own home during the holidays and being asked to design Christmas trees for others, several compliments prompted Jennifer to establish Decadent Decor & Design. Her vision is rich and earthy like a piece of fine chocolate – hence, her business name. Jennifer is showcasing her holiday decor, special occasion decor, wooden plaques, and coasters, all of which can be custom ordered with her Decadent Decor & Design in Building I, Booth 23.

Mojo53 Barrel Special Appliques

Friends and next-door neighbors Michelle Obenour and Joe Jacobs and their MoJo53 Barrel Creations began with a beautiful oak barrel bar in Joe’s home. After a trip to Southern Ohio to collect some whiskey barrels, Michelle and Joe got busy being creating beautiful things out of the recycled barrels and attending shows and festivals. Items they’ve upcycled from the barrels range from bottle openers and bottle holders to hooks and racks, to lanterns, end tables, and pub tables. The name of their business is derived from Mo (Michelle Obenour); Jo (Joe Jacobs) and 53 is the number of gallons a barrel will hold. They tell us, “We are grateful for our customers! What a compliment it is to have someone want something you made in their home.” They are in Building FA, Booths 68 & 69.

Bluffton University Alumni

Rosanna Barber majored in art and writing. She and her husband live in Ada where her work focuses on ceramics. Rosanna likes to emphasize the artistry of everyday functional items and simple vessels. For example, she uses reduction and wood ash to bring out the natural reds and browns of the clay and the flames that color it.

Rosanna continues to tell us that these simple techniques have been used for centuries in creating beautiful pieces. Rosanna and her Hot Shot Pottery is Outside in Booth C.

Geoff Thompson has always loved woodworking and had wanted a shop for a long time. His dreams came true with his woodworking and functional fractal art. After many years of observing and researching fractal burns, he purchased his own machine to create and participate in the very dangerous world of fractal burns. Geoff tells us that this serious process involves 10K volts of electricity applied to the wood to create the tree-like lightning bolt effect and he most certainly stresses safety during the process. Wow! Check out Geoff and his Thompson Lightning Creations in Building C/D, Booth 10.
