WRAP AROUND CARE Hive, Infant and Junior School Spring & Summer Terms 2024

WRAP AROUND CARE The Clifton High school day runs from 8.30am - 3.35pm in the Infant and Junior School. However, we offer a range of wrap around care outside these hours to expand our pupils’ learning experiences and to allow parents to pick up their child or children at a time that works with their schedule.

This booklet outlines these various offerings. The three main categories of wrap around care include:

1) Co-curricular clubs (3.35 - 4.15pm) These are run by teachers or subject specialists and can be booked through SOCS. Detailed information on the sepecific co-curricular offerings can be found on SOCS. Collection is from the Infant Gate on Cifton Park.

2) Homework/Late Rooms (3.35 - 4.00pm) These are spaces where pupils can work quietly and places do not need to be booked.

Collection is from the Infant Gate on Clifton Park.

Any child not picked up by 4.15pm from either a Co-curricular club or Homework/Late Room will be taken to the School Office and parents will be telephoned. There is no option for the child to be taken to ASAC as places in ASAC are capped and need to be booked in advance.

3) After School Activity Club (ASAC) (3.30 - 4.45 pm) (3.30 - 5.55pm) This is a guided play session for children offered as either a Half Session or a Full Session and can be booked through SOCS. Parents will be informed in the weekly Parent Bulletin when the bookings will open for each half term. Bookings are made on a first come first served basis. During the half term before, bookings will open on a nominated day at 7.00pm to allow fair access to the system.

Parents are asked to cancel a booking if they know their child is ill or not going to use the session they have booked. ‘No shows’ will be counted and when three have been registered by a child’s name, bookings for that child will be removed for the rest of that half term and the parents will need to make alternative arrangements for childcare. This is to act as a deterrent and to allow others to book a space and to be fair showing consideration for others.

If you are unable to book a session on SOCS then that means the session is full and alternative child care will need to be found. We can not exceed our capacities.

Children booked into ASAC should not attend Homework/Late Room but go directly to the ASAC location. A child can be booked into a club prior to ASAC and they will be taken to ASAC afterwards.

Importantly, ASAC is not intended to be used instead of a club or Late/Homework Room. This allows all half and full sessions to be available to parents who need to pick up after 4.45pm.

ASAC Half Session: 3.30 - 4.45pm Infants

Parents wait by The Hive gate and all half session children are brought to the gate at the • same time 4.45pm. The ASAC mobile phone is turned off and parents will be directed to phone the School Office, 0117 973 0201.

Fixed pick-up time is 4.45pm from the Swimming Pool entrance on Clifton Park Road.

Please book on SOCS as ‘ASAC Infant half session’.

•

Caps are put on for 16 places.

Parents wait by the Swimming Pool gate and all half session children are brought to the gate all together at the same time 4.45pm.

The ASAC mobile phone is turned off and parents will be directed to phone our School Office, 0117 973 0201.

Please book on SOCS as ‘ASAC Junior half session’.

•

Caps are put on for 30 places.

•

Half Session and Full Session children are together for this duration

•

Children can bring their own snack bar or piece of fruit.

•

If you are unable to book a session on SOCS then that means the session is full and alternative child care will need to be found. We can not exceed the caps.

ASAC Full Session: 3.30 - 5.55pm Infants & Juniors Full session 3.30-5.55pm - Infants and Juniors •

Flexible pick-up time is between 5.00pm-5.55pm from The Hive entrance on Clifton Park.

This full session is only to be used by children who are picked up after 5.00pm.

Any child not picked up by 6.00pm will be taken to the Senior Leader on duty and parents will be telephoned.

Parents ring The Hive bell on The Hive gate (Clifton Park) and then walk up the driveway to collect their child from The Hive front door.

Parents ring the ASAC mobile phone 07305 632482 and their child is brought to the Hive gate.
