This October Half Term we have an action and adventure packed programme created to promote positive social interaction, build confidence and most important of all, for your children to have fun!
We are delighted to be able to offer a range of fun opportunities in our usual stimulating and creative environment and the programme will be delivered, as always, to the highest professional standards.
Hot lunch is included in the daily cost for Minis, Juniors and Kids Club. Our Catering team produces varied nutritious lunch options each day which can meet all dietary requirements. Please specify dietary requirements when booking.
All bookings should be made using our online booking system but, in the event that you cannot access the internet, please contact us via email and we can send you a booking form to complete and return. Bookings made by paper forms are only completed once you receive a confirmation email from us.
The content of this brochure is correct at the time of publication, aspects of our Holiday Club may need to change due to factors outside of our control. We will inform you as soon as possible if any changes are necessary.

Juniors Holiday Club offers a variety of engaging activities specifically tailored for children in Years 1-3. Our program ensures that every child has the space and time to enjoy age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, and free play throughout the day. We take full advantage of The College’s exceptional facilities, such as Butcombe Playground, tandem trikes, balance bikes, the indoor Sports Hall, and the Forest School Garden. Daily swimming sessions, which are an important and enjoyable part of our program, are available for all children.
All our activities are led by experienced staff who focus on promoting individual development and, of course, fun. We believe it’s essential for children to explore their interests and develop skills through a diverse range of activities and opportunities. The typical Kids’ Club day includes a wide variety of activities that children in years 4-8 will enjoy. A free-time swimming session is a very popular part of each day’s activities. The other three main daily activity sessions are designed with varying interest and ability groups in mind and children can choose from a number of themed afternoon activities that take place both indoor and outdoor around Clifton College Sports Centre. We are delighted to offer an extensive programme of exciting, challenging and fun courses providing a chance to try something new or enjoy a regular favourite.
Please note all of these courses have limited numbers so early booking is recommended.
If an activity course is taking place at our Sports Ground, Abbots Leigh / Outdoor Activity Centre then a packed lunch may be provided by our Catering team due to more limited catering resources and facilities.
Appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn (no Crocs or flip flops for health and safety reasons) and children should also bring a waterproof coat in case of bad weather. Should you have any questions or require further information then please contact us at the time of booking.
Activity Courses will register in Taits House, Northcote Road (same building as Kids Club). See course description for specific information.
Course leaders will aim to call register at 09:45 when they will start to gather their groups together. All courses will start at 10:00 and conclude at 16:00 unless otherwise stated.




Our popular action packed adventure courses always offer great opportunities to try a new challenge or expand existing interests and skills. Our Outdoor Activity Centre at Clifton College Sports Ground, Abbots Leigh is also available at times throughout the year for individuals, families and birthday party groups to come along and enjoy an adventurous challenge in the great outdoors.

This course will be run by experienced instructors and will give you a comprehensive introduction to Rock Climbing outdoors. Sessions will be based at one of two prime rock climbing locations around Bristol and North Somerset, and will cover the basics of rock climbing safety, skills and techniques, to get you reaching new heights in no time. All specialist equipment will be provided but participants must wear sturdy footwear (e.g Walking boots/shoes) and will require warm outdoor clothes, wet weather gear and a change of footwear.

During these courses, participants will create Autumn and Halloween-themed treats to take home and enjoy with friends and family. Professional Chefs from Clifton College’s Catering team, Sodexo, and Sarah Alder, a very experienced Culinary Teacher, will teach participants the importance of food safety & hygiene and a step by step guide how to create each recipe. Each participant will receive a Clifton College apron at the start of the day, which they will be able to take home with them afterwards as well as recipe cards at the end of each day so they can recreate the treats with family at home.

We’re excited to announce that our Holiday Club is now offering an exclusive range of activities designed just for students in Years 9 to 11! Now the older ones can get in on the fun with exciting and engaging courses running on selected days throughout the Summer Holidays.
Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills in the kitchen with our hands-on cookery classes, dive into thrilling laser tag battles using our state-of-theart equipment, or express your creativity through a variety of arts and crafts workshops – there’s something for everyone.

Experience the ultimate blend of high-flying thrills and on-the-water fun! This course offers two exhilarating activities. Cruising the Avon river with paddle boarding, where you’ll learn to glide across the water with confidence. Ascend into the trees for a thrilling high ropes course with our friends Adventure Bristol, navigating aerial challenges high above the ground. This course is all about expanding your limits and making unforgettable memories, no experience required.
All specialist equipment provided. Participants should bring a complete change of clothes, including underwear, shoes and warm layers for after the paddle boarding session. Clothes should be comfortable and not restrict movement. Shoes that you don’t mind getting wet must be worn while paddling.

Clifton College prides itself on its rugby tradition, and also the way it has embraced innovations from the modern professional game while retaining the sport’s core values. This course will give attendees the opportunity to train like professional players from the College’s own instructors, learning new skills whilst testing their fitness against other attendees and developing their teamplay.

In these Terms and conditions:
"We” or the “College” means Clifton College (a company (no. RC000124) incorporated in England and Wales under Royal Charter and registered as a Charity (no. 311735); and the legal entity which operates the Holiday Club and Activity Courses (and "us" and “our” shall be construed accordingly).“You” or the “Parents” means each person who has accepted the place offered at the Holiday Club or Activity Courses and as a parent of the child (and “your” shall be construed accordingly).
“Child” means the child named on the application form who will attend the Holiday Club or Activity Courses.
Save in relation to bookings which are to be paid by childcare vouchers, all bookings for the Holiday Club and Activity Courses must be made in advance, with at least one working days’ notice. Please be aware we cannot admit children who turn up on the day and are not booked in. All bookings must be made online at: https://www.ccslcliftoncollege.com/holidayclub-and-activities/.
We are unable to accept bookings over the telephone.
FULL PAYMENT must be made at the time of booking. We will not admit children to the Holiday Club or Activity Courses unless payment has been made in advance. Payment is regarded as acceptance of these Terms and conditions.
We accept payment by credit or debit card and childcare vouchers. If you wish to pay by childcare vouchers then you must follow our published procedures and ensure payments are made at the time of booking and received by us within 7 days as until full payment is received, bookings are considered provisional and are not to be regarded as guaranteed.
The College reserves the right to make changes or rearrangements to the daily programme of activities, for example, swimming session availability or in the event of unsuitable weather or other factors which may arise and which are beyond our control. Alternative activities will always be provided. There may be occasions where we have to cancel an Activity Course due to booking numbers being below the minimum set for that particular course, in which case we will either offer an alternative activity or a full refund.
If we receive a booking cancellation request with 14 calendar days’ notice or less, then we are unable to offer a refund or future credit of Holiday Club or Activity Courses fees (Fees).
or with an unauthorised adult unless we have authorisation through the parent consents options in the booking form.
We are unable to offer a refund if paid via Childcare Vouchers. A future credit (to be taken within 12 months) will only be offered in the event of a cancellation of a booking on more than 14 calendar days' notice.
We are otherwise unable to offer a refund, reduction or waiver of Fees in the event that:
the Child is absent through illness; or
a) is released home before the normal end of the Child's booked session(s); or
b) a Holiday Club day or session or Activity Course is shortened; or
c) or the College is temporarily closed due to adverse weather conditions;
d) or for any reason other than exceptionally and at the sole discretion of the Holiday Club Manager in a case of genuine hardship.
Drop-off for all age settings is from 8:00 – 10:00am. Collection for all age settings is from 4:00 – 6:00pm.
Please respect our Holiday Club and Activity Course times and deliver and collect your children in line with the published times. Should you need to make arrangements outside of these times then please talk to our Administrator or a Manager well in advance so we can try and accommodate your request although please bear in mind we are likely to be at venues other than the Registration Points once our daily programme commences.
Morning Registration for all Holiday Clubs and Activity Courses is at 10.00am and we return to the Registration Points at 4.00pm.
Our early service, between 8:00 – 10:00am and our late service between 4:00 – 6:00pm is included in the daily price for all Holiday Clubs and Activity Courses.
We must stress that the very latest time for pick up is 6.00pm. We cannot guarantee staffing levels beyond this finish time and pick up after this will incur an additional charge of £20 for each event regardless of reason. If collection is after 6.00pm we will politely ensure that our procedures are understood and if this occurs more than once for the same child then Senior Management will be informed and action taken as appropriate.
Children must be signed in/out by the parent (or authorised adult accompanying the Child), recording the time of arrival/departure on the Register so that we are aware that the Child has arrived/left. We will not allow any child, who has not yet reached year 7 at their school, to return home unaccompanied or with an unauthorised adult unless we have authorisation through the parent consent options in the booking form.
The Parents agree to provide to the Holiday Club details of any authorised adult who will be accompanying the Child at sign in/out and to provide up to date contact telephone numbers (home/ work/mobiles) that we can call during the day in the event of an emergency, illness or to check information urgently. Please ensure we have as many contact numbers as possible.
Due to the nature of the activities, we recommend that children not wear their best or most expensive clothes as we cannot take responsibility for damage to clothing. For specific wear, please see our Kit List.
We cannot guarantee the return of lost property, but we try to return items that are clearly labelled. Lost property will only be carried forward to the next holiday programme when it will be available for collection. Any items not collected will then be disposed of.
For Years 1 - 8, mobile devices including phones, tablets and games consoles are not allowed to be brought in any Holiday Club setting or Activity Course. The only exception is when a child is departing unaccompanied and their parent/carer would like them to have a mobile phone with them, in this event, the mobile phone will need to be handed to staff upon arrival for safe storage and will be handed back to the child on departure. We are always willing to allow a child to contact parents/ carers using a College phone if required.
Attendees in years 9-11, possession of mobile phones are permitted, but only in certain places, such as the drop off and collection building. The Coordinator must be informed of any mobile devices being carried by this age group. No children attending Holiday Club are allowed to take photos of videos on site. Breach of this policy will result in confiscation of mobile devices, to be returned at the end of the day and senior management informed and reasonable consequences will be enforced.
We recognise that the needs of individual children vary and that some children may be considered to be vulnerable or have additional needs. We will endeavour to accommodate vulnerable children or children with additional needs within the Holiday Club and Activity Course environment. We are realistic about the limitations of our environment for vulnerable children and children with additional needs and attendance is considered on an individual basis.
As above, if English is not a child’s first language, then it will be important for us to establish that they at least have an understanding of basic instructions for health and safety purposes. Please contact the Holiday Club and Activity Course team prior to booking to discuss any requirements further and to consider what (if any) arrangements can and need to be put in place. All details of the Child's needs and additional support requirements MUST be notified at the time of booking by responding with full details in the Child’s profile on our booking system.
We set ourselves high standards and expect our staff to act professionally at all times and to present themselves as positive role models. In return we have expectations of certain standards of behaviour from children attending the Holiday Club and Activity Courses. This includes:
a) Showing respect and treating others as they would wish to be treated.
b) Showing respect for all personal property and the facilities.
c) Listening to and following instructions from staff members.
d) Swearing, abusive and hurtful language is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Aggressive behaviour or violence is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. One child's behaviour will not be allowed to endanger other children attending the Holiday Club and/or Activity Courses.
Please be aware of these standards and support action taken by staff to encourage good behaviour at the Holiday Club and Activity Courses. Parents must inform us via the booking process of any potential behaviour issues and any associated signs, triggers or strategies that would help us to deal with situations in a positive manner. All children are encouraged and regularly reminded to tell a member of staff as soon as anything happens that causes them upset or distress so that we can address any issue immediately.
The Holiday Club and Activity Courses follow a Behaviour Management Policy which includes 4 stages for managing behavioural issues:
Stage 1: Reminder – Child/ (ren) will be reminded of their behaviour and expectations
Stage 2: Verbal Warning –Child(ren) will be reminded again and the Parents/Carers will be given feedback upon collection
Stage 3: Removal from activity/environment –Child(ren) will be removed from the activity/environment until they have understood that their behaviour is unacceptable and the reasons why.
Stage 4: Challenging behaviour to be dealt with appropriately as above. Incident form will be completed and emailed to parents. Holiday Club Management will arrange a meeting with the Parents/ Carers to work together and find a suitable solution which may include the College's right to terminate this agreement with immediate effect. Please note that in these circumstances there will be no refund, reduction or waiver of Fees paid.
Should there be a serious behavioural incident involving the Child that in our opinion puts the child or other children at risk, or behaviour that we cannot reasonably control then we will telephone Parents/carers on the emergency numbers we have been given at the time of booking to request immediate collection which may also include immediate termination of this agreement if it is appropriate to do so.
Immediate challenging behaviour including unwarranted physical contact, bullying, verbal aggression and physical aggression are automatically at Stage 4. If a child feels that they are being subjected to bullying then they are encouraged and regularly reminded to report this to staff members immediately. All reported cases will be dealt with sensitively and fairly and appropriate decisions will be taken in full consultation with all parties.

The College's Safeguarding Policy and procedures will apply to the Holiday Club and Activity Courses. If the Parents or have any concerns about a child or in connection with the operation of the Holiday Club and/or Activity Courses, the Parents they are required to contact the Commercial Safeguarding Lead (Holiday Club Manager) or the Commercial Deputy Safeguarding Lead (Holiday Club Assistant Manager) who will escalate matters in accordance with the College's Safeguarding Policy and procedures. The Parents will ensure the Child knows who to contact at the Holiday Club and Activity Courses in the event the Child has a safeguarding concern. Contact details are:

The Holiday Club and Activity Courses welcome all children, regardless of their sex, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, disability and pregnancy or maternity (if applicable). Each child attending is of equal value and is entitled to equal access to opportunity. Education and understanding of other people’s needs and backgrounds will be fostered to promote positive behaviour and attitudes. Discriminating behaviour, attitudes and comments will not be tolerated and be challenged. We will regularly review our policy and amend it where necessary.
Our staff team is trained to process your comments and pass them on to the appropriate individual who will endeavour to respond within 24 hours.
All complaints, however serious, should always be referred to the Holiday Club Manager. If this route of communication is not appropriate then please contact the Head of Experience and Programming on 0117 315 7553.
If necessary, complaints will be further investigated and a verbal or written reply will be returned to the complainant within 7 working days. A record of complaints is maintained. Full details will be recorded on our database including any subsequent details, action taken and whether the complaint is complete. Where appropriate, any investigations will be undertaken in accordance with the principle that the welfare of the Child is safeguarded and promoted. If the complainant considers the response to be unsatisfactory then they will be asked to put all details in writing so that further consideration can be given and a written response provided within 28 days detailing investigation findings and action taken. If an external agency investigates, we will consult on how to proceed and the complainant informed of progress.
We recommend that all children bring a sun hat/cap for protection against the sun. Sun cream, in a named plastic bag, can also be brought and given to the registration staff on arrival. Holiday Club and Activity Courses staff will assist younger children to apply sun cream and older children will be reminded to apply their own sun cream at regular intervals. For younger children, we will help to apply their cream as required, unless we are told otherwise at the time of booking.
