JUNIOR ARCHITECT Picharchitects Pich-Aguilera | Barcelona | July 2018 - current I‘m currently carrying a residential project in Barcelona under the supervision of a senior architect. I was introduced to Revit and produced basic and executive documentation with the software.

2018

ARCHITECTURAL INTERN D2G architecture | Genova | March 2018 - June 2018 I could improve my render production skills. I mainly took care of producing interior renders with 3DS Max and get to know better this software. I also took care of taking over the measures of various apartments.

2017 2016

STUDENT INTERN Picharchitects Pich-Aguilera | Barcelona | October 2016 - January 2017 Thanks to this traineeship I was able to see how an architecture studio works. I had the chance to curate the executive design of a social housing in France under the supervision of a senior fellow.

Picharchitects Junior Architect July 2018 - Present basic + executive projects in Revit, help in competitions 6%

I’m currently working on a residential building in Barcelona on Revit. I took care of modeling the whole building and to advance through the different steps of the project, having the chance to gain experience with many Revit tools until reaching professional level in a couple of months.

Barcelona Social Housing final thesis, March 2018 University of Genoa, Italy | mark 110/110 supervisor: Prof. Arch. Christiano Lepratti, Ing. Alberto Messico The project aims to design the conversion of the building set in Via Laietana 8-10 in Barcelona. The subject was linked to the competition held by Archmedium I took part in. I then focused on the development of the project. I was glad to be one of the finalists. I focused on the idea of comfort of a building, reached through the use of natural elements such as sun and wind. The residences develop following a modular criteria. To best promote the required housing density and to keep house costs sufficiently low, I chose to develop a co-housing community. A great central court distributes seven floors where three housig units are aggregated to each other forming triplexes. The three cores share a space in common which is both distribution and common room. Its use may be different: a kitchen with living room, a play room, or a working room. I verified my ideas practically through the study of wind and sun radiation. The wind was useful to decide where to locate the roof openings in order to get the best profit of cross ventilation, while studying the irradiation I could verify that the building was not overheating in summer and creating a warmer environment in winter.

Student competition winner: The best requalification project for the Rivertown district. Scholarship to attend Rivertown Summer School during the UIA congress in Durban, South Africa in 2014

Exposed at: About (D)urban exhibition, Genova Rivertown exhibition at Beer hall, Durban INTRO In a mainly forgotten industrial district, something is going to change. The municipality requested a new residential pole in Durban. The project guidelines are REUSE and REHABILITATION. The requalification starts from the street. This initial action will crowd street and make people use the available infrastructures. The development doesn’t take place simultaneously but through the following steps: 1. Occupation of large streets with public attractions and entertainments; 2. Reuse of bigger sheds for more public attraction; 3. Reuse of other old sheds to create little independent residential communities which contain all the primary needs (shops and services) and where everything is handy. RESIDENTIAL UNITS This provides km.0 activities and reduces pollution as materials and workers come from nearby. Embodied energy, which is also important during the construction, is highly reduced. The new services are divided by sizes and are spread equally around the district in order to avoid long movements for the upcoming citizens. THE BEER HALL Part of the requalification is held by the Beer Hall, a building which the Municipality wants to be dedicated to arts, expositions and entertainment. A new distributing block is inserted. The expo area is divided by modular panels which make the space very flexible. An underground canal is uncovered beside, in order to provide an environmental improvement thanks to the plantation of depurating plants.

Solar house A residential unit with the aim of respecting the Solar Decatrhlon guidelines is designed in base of sunlight and and wind system. The unit is composed by a block and an exterior envelope. The spaces are organized in two levels: on the ground floor common areas, while on the first floor there are the private rooms of the house.

The ground floor has a flexibile concept: a sliding window system makes it porous so that during summer the living room can expand and get a unique space together with the exterior, while in winter they become two separated areas.

Flimsy Dome

BUILDING PROCESS

THE PENTAGONS The aim was to look for simplicity and delicacy. The dome is made of five side and one top pentagons. We looked for a modular constructing process which could help build the dome within 10 minutes. These pre-built pieces match together to create an apparently simple but solid construction. A SPECIAL JOINT What is particular is the joint which links the pentagons. In fact it is made up of electrical components: it was created melting together two little rings used by electricians. We got two holes which could be inserted in the screws. BUILDING THE DOME This made the assembling process quite easy and respected the rule of building the dome within 10 minutes.

Lamp C November 2015 - Bruxelles, Belgium Universitè Catholique de Louvain Course Atelier Design Professor Charles Kaisin

The concept is based on the idea that any user can have its own customized lamp. The base, made up of wood sticks, creates a grid. It hosts and hides a led wire. The user can create its favourite lamp by choosing different kinds of paper and giving the shape he prefers placing it inside the grid. No lamp will be equal to the other one. In my prototype I have chosen to use tracing paper because it creates different shadows and lights thanks to its transparency.

Student competition at Musée L finalist The Musèe L committee hosted a competition to design a commemorative monument to thank all sponsors and donators who contributed to the creation of the museum. It was required to be able to read all the contributors’s names. I imagined every person or institution represented by a geometric shape. Every sponsor could choose it’s colour among a selected range, so that the final effect would be a rainbow of shapes. All shapes are hanged in the main structure made of a principal suspended string and different horizontal branches. Their fluctuation creates a dynamic effect all around the foyer.
