Look At Me Now Headland - Emerald Beach What is it?

What bait should I use?

What lures are best?

A large exposed headland.

Beach worms, fresh cut baits (i.e. Pilchard, Yellowtail or Slimey Mackerel), live baits such as Mullet, Yakkas, Slimey Mackerel and Garfish.

Hard bodied divers such as Croaker or Leavey Jew lures, high speed metals such as 65gm Spanyids and stickbaits such as the Shimano Orca.

What fish should I target?

All year round, though January to May will produce your pelagic species.

Where is it? Emerald Beach is 15 minutes north of Coffs Harbour.

What’s there? There are no facilities apart from a car park.

Bream, Whiting and Dart in the wave zone, Mulloway in the washes, Spanish Mackerel and Northern Bluefin Tuna as well as monster Yellowtail Kingfish and Snapper.

Best time to fish?

What dream fish might I catch? Kingfish to 24kg (getting them out is very difficult). Large Mulloway and Spanish mackerel.

The rocks on the headland are very slippery so make sure you have suitable footwear when fishing here.
