What is it?

The mouth of the river and sand flats where Moonee Creek meets Moonee Beach. Where is it?

Moonee Beach is a short drive north of Coffs Harbour. Moonee Beach Reserve is located at the end of Moonee Beach Road and is a popular fishing spot. What’s there?

Moonee Creek Reserve has a boat ramp, toilets/showers. There is a caravan park, paddle board hire, picnic tables and park.

Top Tips

Throw un-weighted live nippers into channels for BIG whiting. What fish should I target?

Best fish to target are Whiting, Bream and Mangrove Jacks.

What bait should I use?

Pump the nippers on the flats at low tide and fish the upcoming tide.

For the kids

Perfect for children. Water rarely gets over 4ft and can be waded in most parts. Parts of the creek are shaded by trees so great for little ones. Also perfect for your four legged best friend.

Small wriggler style soft plastics and small jig heads or 40mm surface lures work well. Best time to fish?

Great fishing in the warmer months from September through to March. What dream fish might I catch?

Thumper Whiting and big Mangrove Jacks.
