CMUzens TAKES PART IN THE CELEBRATION OF MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

A

s the observance of Mental Health Awareness Month several organizations such as Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX) and Human Resource Students’ Association of the Philippines (HRSAP) Junior Philippines Institute of Accountants (JPIA) College of Teacher Education (CTE) held in different activities at the CMU hall and CMU quadrangle on October 27 to 28.

On the first day of the event, the JFINEX and HRSAP led a Zumba dancing Activity at the CMU quadrangle that was participated by several students and faculty members.

The JPIA also held a series of seminars with the theme of “MIND MATTER SERIES: Mental health as a Universal Right” that was held in the CMU hall.

During the first day of the morning session a psychiatric social worker and a professor at the university, Professor Madonna Sundian, RSW led the discussion about mental health as a universal right, several students engaged in learning about various aspects of mental health and how to deal with their emotions.

MALABON CITY GEARS UP FOR A DAZZLING 40 ft CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

Mayor Sandoval emphasized in her opening message that, beyond all of the decorations, trimmings, street lights, and Christmas tree, the true meaning behind this Christmas lighting ceremony is to at least provide and transcend the spirit of hope to the Malabueños.

Unveiling Brilliance: College of Arts and Sciences Soars in Celebration of its college week

On showcasing their talent and sportswear, the crowd expressed their loud and proud cheers to their favorite candidates on their talent and glamorous outfits during the competition that made them standout during the performances.

he college of arts and sciences (CAS) successfully held its three days college week celebration participated by several students and organizations from BA Journalism, BA Public Administration, BS Social work, and BS Political Science. from November 23 to 24.

As they welcome their event, different colleges joined the parade to showcase their support and as well as to introduce their candidates for the “Ginoo at Binibining Agham at Sining 2023”.

On the final stage of the competition, Eunice Jayawon, from BS Social Work, and Arjhon Vasquez, from BA Public Administration student, were declared as the "Ginoo at Binibining Agham at Sining."

Vasquez also received the "Best in Cultural Wear Award," while Jayawon received the "Mabini Award.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval on the other hand, expresses her heartfelt gratitude for Sen. Bong Revilla and Cong. Bryan Revilla's cash assistance program for the citizens of Malabon.

Unfortunately, due to a conflict of schedule, Senator Bong Revilla couldn't attend the said programme, but instead, Agimat Partylist Representative Congressman Bryan Revilla is the one who takes over the distribution.

This initiative programme of Senator Revilla was said to be motivated by his eagerness to provide help to those who are in need and also by those who supported his political venture over the years.

nder the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), The Freedom of Information Project Management Office (FOI-PMO) held its fifth Campus Caravan at the City of Malabon University (CMU) on Tuesday, October 24.

The Initiator of the said event, Professor Jennylyn C. Tan, Program Chair of Bachelor of Arts in Journalism; it is a collaboration between the FOI-PMO and CMU to advocate university students on how to exercise their rights to access government information and the societal impact of full public disclosure of information.

She emphasized that the FOI is a mechanism for Filipino Citizens to access various government information, which she considered a fundamental human right and imply to the minds of Filipinos the importance of transparency.

Aside from the significance of FOI, Mr. John Wilmer Jimenez, Project Development Officer III of FOI-PMO highlighted the five pillars of freedom of information where he put an emphasis on how the integration of FOI promotes transparency, academic research, innovation, empowerment and how it combats Fake news.

The said program concluded with a photo op session of FOI-PMO representatives and college deans at the event, along with all of the participants in the seminar; which was later followed by a distribution of fair meals.

s the BER Months begin to set on the Robinsons Malabon,the sound

of excitement, music, and laughter fills the air. Once again, it's that time of year—the fair is here!

For more than a year, the fair has become a much-loved tradition in this community, attracting people from all over. This weekend, the Fair attracted residents and visitors alike, turning the town into a beautiful wonderland of joy and fun.

Without a doubt, the midway, with its carnival rides and games, is one of the attractions of the fair. There are lots of thrilling attractions, such the classic Ferris wheel and the heart-pounding Viking. And for those who want more experience, there are also plenty of games available like CaterPillar, Flying Bee, Fun Slide, Mixed-Up and many more.

There's much more to the fair than simply rides and activities, however; there's plenty of delicious food. Every craving may be met, starting with classic fair basics like hotdogs and fries. It's also simple to find a new favorite food because there are so many food vendors to choose from.

However, the fair's significance as a community gathering may be considered its main attractions. It's an opportunity for people to gather, have fun, and celebrate what makes this community unique for people of all ages and ethnicities. Whenever you look in the fairgrounds, you can feel the spirit of community and shared experience, from the small kids shouting on the kiddie trains to the elderly couples walking hand in hand through the crowds.

A lot of people who make this fair a part of their holidays agree with longtime fairgoer Jessica when she says, "It's wonderful to see our town come alive like this every year. It's not just about enjoying the rides and games, but because the fair brings everyone together."

Robinsons Malabon Fair, once again became an inspiration for a community together. The fair celebrates enjoyment, tradition, and community spirit more than it does just a selection of rides and activities.

The fair reminded us that every town has a place where people gather to create memories and strengthen relationships.

Barangay Catmon Takes Home 2023 InterBarangay Basketball Championship Title

arangay Catmon Basketball team wins championship

after 18 years. In opposition to Barangay Potrero in recent Malabon Sportsfest 2023 held at Malabon Sports complex on October 14 with the final score of 100 in favor of the said barangay champion.

In the first half of the game Barangay Catmon was favored by the team captain Vincent John “VJ” Tibang by his crossover moves with the score of 30 points. However, the team also got its First personal foul and warning for penalty.

With the large number of lead scores the opposition team, Barangay potrero tries to lessen the Gap on third Quarter but still the Catmon maintains their lead during the quarter.

The Game ends with the score of Barangay Potrero with 79 points and Barangay Catmon with 100 points that leads them to their championship.

Vincent John “VJ” Tibang declares as the Seasons Most Valuable player (MVP), Finals MVP, and mythical 5.

“Unang-una, pangarap kong mag champion ‘yung barangay namin, kaya ginagawa ko nalang motivation na hindi ko pwedeng ipakita sa kanila na susuko ako kasi ako ‘yung captain ball ng team, so pag pinakita ko ‘yun mawawalan din sila ng pag-asa,” Tibang said.

On a one-on-one interview with the players tells of their struggles during their game.

Due to their lack of training, since some of their members were unavailable due to their schedules, and their championship has a big impact since their barangay were very eager to win since it was more than a decade since their last championship in sportsfest.

Also they share how proud they are in representing their barangay and they used it as their inspiration

even though there are hesitations during the game but they used to overcome it, because of the support of their barangay that were present every game.

Throughout the journey of team Catmon, their Barangay Captain Brian Manapat was also the head coach of the team, and also leads the selection of the player and picks the best individual to represent their barangay.

“Also, sa mga kabataan ng ating barangay na gustong mag Basketball [o] gustong masali sa mga ganitong paliga. Magtiyaga kayo, kailangan pakita ni’yo talaga ‘yung lakas ni’yo.

‘Wag na ‘wag kayong mag bibisiyo at sana alagaan ninyo ang [mga] sarili ni’yo,” he added.

He also shares the relevance of this championship towards the youth and to inspire them in enjoying this kind of sportsfest especially those younger ones who are dreaming to be able to join this kind of competition.

CTE Week Spikes Off with Thrilling Volleyball Matches!

he College of Teacher Education (CTE) kicked off their week-long celebration with a bang, as students battled it out on the volleyball court in a series of exciting matches.

The November 16th event boosted both men and women's teams, showcasing athleticism and sportsmanship in equal measure.

Women's Division: English Society (ESoc) proved their literary prowess translates to court smarts, dominating Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) in two straight sets (21-14, 21-14).

Math Society (MathSoc) took on Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECED) in a nailbiting three-setter. After dropping the first set (14-21), they bounced back to win the second (21-20).

However, BECED held their nerve in the decisive third set, claiming victory with a 15-11 score.

impressive skills and unwavering determination.

The outcome hangs in the balance, promising an exciting conclusion to the first day of CTE Week

English Society (ESoc) struck first, easily dispatching SocSci in the first set (21-8).

But SocSci rallied back in the second set, claiming victory 21-16. In a heart-stopping finale, ESoc regained control, winning the deciding set 15-10.

The volleyball matches were just one part of the diverse sports offerings prepared by the College of Teacher Education. Students could also test their mettle in badminton and basketball, ensuring a fun and active day for all

Math Society found themselves pitted against BEED in a grueling two-set affair.

Unfortunately, BEED's net presence proved too strong, leaving MathSoc with two losses (15-21, 1421).

He also says that this event may leave an impact to the students who participated that their college life is not just all about serious matters, instead it can be fun and insightful as well, that will serve as fun college life to them.

Dagdag pa niya ay nais niyang matutuhang lumipad tulad ng kanyang paboritong superhero.

Pag-sapit ng dilim agad nag-uwian ang mga bata sa kani-kanilang bahay at napag usapang magkita muli sa bakanteng lote upang makapag laro pag-sapit ng alas tres ng hapon.
