A few local gift shop employees shared some tips on where to start. As a mom herself, Jessica Deneke of Wright Drug and Gift said items that can be used all year long are a good choice, such as versatile bags and totes.

She said husbands shopping for their spouse for Mother’s Day will often look at jewelry, especially charm bracelets.

Tammy Seales of Maplesville Florist and Bake Shop said it is often mothers themselves that are contacting her for Mother’s Day, ordering food so they will not have to cook.

A son or daughter looking for a meaningful present could easily replicate that at their mom’s favorite restaurant that provides to-go or catering options.

“Those have been super popular because you can use them for the beach or in your car to carry groceries or as a baby bag,” Deneke said.

Our dedication to providing reliable power day after day puts our overall dependability at 99.9%. However, in those rare events when power is lost, our record of restoring it is 55% better than the national average. This is our home too, which is why we give our all to deliver Power for a Better Alabama.

“Because then they would always look up mom’s birth stone and all the kid’s birth stones and add to that,” Deneke said.Deneke said the store also carries a lot of inspirational items that might be a good Mother’s Day choicewindchimesgrandmothers.popularKnickknackspresent.arealwayschoicesforPre-madegiftbasketsandcanalsobeagoodforthosenotsurewhat to Throughoutget. the years, the concept of giving mom a day to rest on Mother’s Day has been promoted as a good gift idea.

Chicken and dressing and ranch potatoes are popular choices from Seales’s menu. Her homemade red velvet cakes and her caramel cakes are favorites for the May holiday. Pound cake and German chocolate cake are also popular.

When there’s a lot on the line, our linemen are on it.

“They pick up and then they just have to reheat it on Mother’s Day,” Seales said.

“We do not bake and freeze our cakes,” Seales said. “They are baked fresh.”Wherever someone is ordering from, planning ahead is important to success. For instance, Seales said it is best to place an order two weeks in advance, but she will take orders up to a week before.

Gifts that gave mom a chance to relax were especially popular last year and are expected to be again this

Buying flowers to honor a mother who has passed away by laying them on the grave accounts for the majority of Seales’s flower sales around Mother’s Day.For those wanting to get a non-edible gift, but are feeling kind of stumped, Seales recommends home décor or a dough bowl.

Insulated cups and tea towels have also been popular, especially those that say mom, grandma or a saying about moms.“The tea towels were super popular last year,” Deneke said.

While regular visits to a professional groomer are recommended and helpful, there are things that people need to do at home to ensure a pet is looking their best and avoid complications.

Cruz's 9/11 artwork now hangs in the local library in Coral Springs, Florida. She also completed five separate companion pieces that she gifted to each family. Now, Cruz is hoping to bring people together once again for the purpose of creating art. “We're trying to introduce all different ways of painting with different materials, and all the classes that we're doing there include all the materials in the cost, and they vary in cost, but all they have to do is show up for the class, and they go home with a finished work of art,” Cruz explains. “We're trying to spread the idea that anybody can paint … Hopefully, it creates some interest, and when people start taking the classes they can tell their friends and they can bring their friends. It is a lot of fun, and you get to share with other people when you're learning something.”
