My aim of this book is to educate people about dyslexia. As trying to explain Dyslexia is really hard as there so much more that it effects. Since I was young I had always struggled with reading and writing but was never diagnosed with dyslexia till I was 12. Once I got diagnosed I realised I was not dumb and my confidence began to grow. Through my time in high school my spelling and writing had improved a lot considering when I went to high school I was just improving my spelling on common words. My biggest set back was my reading, as I read much slower than everyone else. When I got tested for dyslexia they also did a visual stress test and found that was some of the cause to my reading speed. Once getting the green overlay and then green tinted glasses my reading speed and accuracy went up about 25%. This really help for tests and my exams. As I said at the start there is a lot more than reading and spelling to dyslexia, my attention span is really bad and I get distracted very quickly. As well as I get tired a lot faster, most nights after school I would go take a nap. This is because my brain takes a longer time to process most things. I still struggle with all these things, I will struggle with them the rest of my life but I have come so far in such a short amount of time and honestly am very proud of my growth.
