SUPPLIER CHOICE EXPLAINED
MY DESIGN AIM:
SUSTAINABILITY & DESIGNING FOR THE PEOPLE
Both of these are key factors that have been heavily considered throughout my design process. Transformable design is one of my key drivers - allowing users to have the flexibility and control within their built environment. Additionally sustainability plays a key part when it comes to designing for the people as, their environments will need to have good quality air, products are ergonomic and suitable for the users needs.
WHY CHOSE THESE SUPPLIERS?
• My design visions are very similar to their aims and objectives - designing for the people. Therefore, products are more likely to be ergonomic and comfortable for users.
• Secondly, I am focusing on sustainable design similar to these suppliers. They also focus on creating long-lasting products that minimise environmental impact, such as recycling materials, ensuring wood materials are FSC certified and comply with international standards.
• The furniture are simplistic and fit with the overall aesthetics
I want to create in my spaces. Additionally, they are also versatile and can be used in different environments. • The fabrics from Camira are both fire and water resistant.
They are also easy to maintain which is ideal for a student accommodation. • Amtico and Interface flooring specialise in LVT flooring which is the type of flooring I will be incorporating in my design as it's easy to maintain, replace and cut especially when working with a round building. • All apart from HAY are based in the UK, making transporting and communication a lot easier.
