Conservation Approach
GRADE II* LISTED BUILDING
The Roundhouse built in 1874 by architect W.H. Ward was originally stables for the horses that worked the canals and storage for the Birmingham Corporation. The shape of the building is a horseshoe.

RESTORATION:
Returning the building into its original historic former state. Recreating broken, or warn out forms, features and characteristics. This will protect the buildings value and initially respect its original materials.
REFURBISHMENT:
Improving the building through cleaning, decorating and re-quipping. This is done to ensure that its interior is presentable but, still considering sustainability and including elements that are energy efficient. PRESERVATION:
Due to the buildings age and specific listing, it is important that majority of its existing structure and materiality is preserved. This can be done by protecting and conserving its original materials. This will mean the aesthetic will have to say the same.
REHABILITATION:
Making the right repairs and alterations will ensure the building is functioning correctly. For example, this can be, repairing flooring, adding the right insulation, ceiling etc. Repairs and alterations will be added to make sure that building fits with building regulations.
