Building a new community in northern Waikato PROJECT: Lakeside Development Stage 2 – Te Kauwhata CONTRACTOR: Ross Reid Contractors CLIENT: Winton VALUE: $19.6m Lakeside Development is a technically challenging and complex engineering project which has multiple diverse components from large complex earthworks to a 12m deep pump station below the existing lake level, an extensive drainage network, through to construction and upgrade of new roads over existing swamp lands.

The Project is in the heart of Waikato’s Te Kauwhata, 20km north of Huntly.

Ross Reid Contractor, an Auckland-based earthworks contractor which specialises in land development projects, is the main contractor to build this project with its client Lakeside Development 2017, and Crang Civil provided the design and engineering expertise. The project commenced in November 2020 and was successfully completed in May 2022.
