Enquired whether the pohutukawa trees would be lost during the works along Fenton Street as several of the residents currently maintain the plants surrounding the trees. They enquired as to whether the trees would be replanted. Enquired as to whether the pohutukawa trees would be removed.

Enquired as to whether there was the potential for a community garden to be provided within the land surrounding the new station. Indicated that there was a lack of green space and that the residents in the flats missed the opportunity to garden.
Information provided Attendee was informed that the pohutukawa trees would be removed during the Enabling Works. They were informed that the trees would not be replanted in the same location as the Enabling Works would remove the space for the trees. Attendee was informed that the pohutukawa trees would be removed during the Enabling Works. Attendee was informed that the urban design for land surrounding the station has not been produced and therefore it was unknown as to whether there would be space for a community garden.
A2. Independent Peer Review Comments An Independent Peer Review of the draft TV DWP was undertaken by Jon Redfern of Arbolab. Jon confirmed by email dated 1 November 2019 that he had no recommendations or changes to the report at this stage.

None of the trees within the Mt Eden Enabling Works area are scheduled under the Auckland Unitary Plan (Operative in part).
I can confirm the trees do not have any protection as a notable tree in Schedule 10 of the Unitary Plan and are protected by way of their location on public land.
No change to TV DWP required.

If the future public realm reinstatement design allows, replacement trees for those removed will be planted in the same general area as part of the site’s reinstatement.
In this instance, it is acknowledged that replanting in this location is not going to be a viable option and that it is appropriate to consider planting is a more suitable location.
It is known that it will not be possible to replant the trees in the same location, therefore, replacement trees will be planted in an appropriate location elsewhere within the CRL designation.

The timing of the works means that they will commence
At this stage it is probably too late in the year to relocate the trees with any chance of success, and would advise that removal
