Lan-3 Level 1
Site assessment follows the recommended approach in ‘CLMG No.5 Site Investigation and Analysis of Soils’.
Section 3
A site assessment has been completed in the vicinity of the Mt Eden Enabling Works area as part of the wider CRL project. Specific assessments have not been undertaken within the Mt Eden Enabling Works area, with the exception of the South Pacific Timber site (21 Ruru Street).
Lan-3 Level 1
Remediation options are identified and selected using a sustainability hierarchy.
Sections 5.3, 5.4, 5.6 and 7.
Lan-3 Level 2
Sustainability appraisal of remediation options is undertaken against the sustainability indicators in Table 1 of ‘A Framework for Assessing the Sustainability of Soil and Groundwater Remediation’.
Shallow contaminated fill (and underlying natural material) needs to be removed as part of the Mt Eden Enabling Works. The spoil within the Mt Eden Enabling Works area needs to be removed and disposed of offsite to enable this component of the CRL project to be realised. Due to the urban and constrained nature of the works area there is no location within the CRL project area for soils to be retained or returned to site. Disposal of soil from the Mt Eden Enabling Works shall be based on the soil classification hierarchy and approval process that is outlined in Sections 5.3 and 5.4 of this C DWP. If unexpected soil contamination is identified, the requirements of Section 7 of this C DWP are to be implemented and soil remediation and management options will be assessed using the ISCA sustainability hierarchy approach as applicable.
Section 5.6
A Water Discharge Quality Monitoring Programme (WDQMP) has been developed which specifies the monitoring to be undertaken for the Mt Eden Enabling Works. The WDQMP is included within the FTMP and provides specific requirements on the discharges to the receiving environment (Motions Creek
