Hamlin Park:
2.5/5
Hamlin Park is 80 acres with many trails of moderate terrain in terms of physical demands for campers. Much of this park is a fairly-open wooded area, primarily populated by Western Red Cedar that lends itself well to camper exploration, but can be a potential challenge for campers who have trouble staying with the groups in a self-directed way.
Join Nature Vision this summer for a week of scientific exploration and learning about the natural world. With the forest as our laboratory and under the guidance of our staff of professional educators, campers will practice the skills that biologists, ecologists, and other scientists use in the field. By engaging in experiments such as water quality testing, surveying biodiversity, and more, campers will expand their understanding about the environment around them. We’ll combine our scientific observations and data collection with songs, games and art for a fun-filled summer experience to help your budding scientist explore their passion for learning!!

Stories teach us about the world around us, as well as teaching us how to be kind to each other, nature, and ourselves. Don’t miss this chance for your child to develop their appreciation for the natural world and what it can teach!

Scholarship Program Philosophy
The City of Shoreline wishes to make public recreation programs available to all youth and specialized recreation participants and recognizes that financial hardships may prevent the ability to pay for the program fees. To accommodate these special needs, the City of Shoreline provides scholarship funds for 2025 programs.
The 2025 Scholarship Fund provides each qualified participant with $250 for the 2025 calendar year, toward Recreation and/or Aquatics programs. A Qualified Participant is a resident of the City of Shoreline and is either under 18 or a specialized recreation participant who is over 18.
*Scholarships are provided by the City of Shoreline on a first-come basis until all scholarship funds have been used. Please note that funds may run out before you are able to use all your assigned scholarship dollars.
IMPORTANT:
If you wish to withdraw from a program after registering, you must call the PRCS office at (206) 801-2600 at least three days before the first class meeting

Head out to the cascade foothills to hike up Bridal Veil Falls and visit the Lake Serene Mine. This abandoned copper mine was active during the early 20th century and has some relics that can be spotted along the way to the small mine entrance. We’ll take a peak in the mine and learn a bit about its history. This hike is 4 miles roundtrip with about 1000ft of elevation gain. The trail is rough with stairs and there will be areas where you’ll need to climb over large tree roots and very uneven surfaces. Please bring a flashlight if you plan on joining us in exploring the mine. Wearing sturdy hiking shoes will be necessary. Transportation and trip leader included.
