Enrich your child's preschool experience with Mudskippers Outdoor Preschool. Our teachers work with students to give them imaginative and cooperative playtime in the woods, as well as nature themed stories, activities, songs and poems. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to leap right into outdoor learning and have fun at local Shoreline parks! This class meets in every type of weather and is for students who are potty confident. Please pack your child a nut free snack.

Meet the instructor Leah Nielson

Leah grew up in Kirkland, Washington and immediately took to music at a young age. She started in choir at the age 6 years old, piano at 8, and clarinet at 10. Through the years she also participated in theater and band. Leah taught previously at Gymboree Play & Music and has spent a number of year as a nanny. Now, she sings with Highlight Quartet as the group’s bass and enjoys performing around the Greater Seattle area for kids of all ages.

SoccerTots is our flagship program! These soccer-themed motor skill classes are very easy for youngsters to get into. Younger age groups focus on developing motor skills and self-confidence; older classes focus more on developing core soccer skills and personal focus and introduce an element. Elite Kid Tumblers

Level 1, no prerequisites/beginner’s wel come. Skill building across flexibility and conditioning. Learn tumbling skills includ ing handstands, headstands, forward rolls, cartwheels, and more. Focus is on learning proper techniques and body control across basic skills, while increasing flexibility and strength. Level 2 includes perfecting Level 1 skills and advancing. Learn tumbling skills including round offs, front and back limbers, front and back walkovers, beginning running tumbling, and more. Focus is on advancing and combining skills, refining technique, and further increasing flexibility and strength. *Must* excel in the following skills with proper technique *and* without a spotter OR approved by instructor. Introduction into Mixed Martial Arts

This new class for youth will focus on body coordination, breathing, and introducing martial-arts skills in a safe and fun environment. We'll be working on conditioning, partner drills, and building confidence through practice. Instructor Martin Suchorolski is a life-long MMA practitioner with experience in a variety of martial arts including boxing, judo, muay-thai, goju ryu karate, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He is also a student of positive psychology and non-violent communication.

Winter Break Camp

Spend your school break with us at Camp Shoreline. Each day is filled with playing indoor/outdoor games and getting creative with lots of arts, crafts, cooking and wild activities in our classroom. Camp is led by trained staff and meets at the Spartan Recreation Center. Please bring a water bottle, snacks, and a sack lunch. Be sure to wear tennis shoes/sneakers and dress in layers for indoor and outdoor play. **Participants need to be in kindergarten or have completed kindergarten to participate in this program. This program is not for children who are still in preschool.**

Looking for a place to hang out, be yourself, and try something new? The Shoreline Teen Center is a safe, welcoming space for teens in grades 7-12 to connect, create, and have fun. From open gym and video games to creative arts, special events, and leadership programs, there's always something happening. Friendly staff are on hand to support, inspire, and make sure everyone feels included. This is a free, drop-in program. No pre-registration is required.

Middle School Night is the place to be! Friday, October 24th {?} witness the epic clash on the gridiron, then join in on the excitement of the After Game Party! Immediately following the game, head over to the SPARTAN Recreation Center for a night full of electrifying music and dance floor, open gym games, and fresh hot pizza! All FREE! You can find us right next to the Shoreline Stadium at the SPARTAN Rec. Center at 202 NE 185th St. Just follow the lights and music when leaving the stadium. The party starts right after the game and goes until 11pm. This event is for Shorecrest and Shorewood students only, please bring Student ID/ASB card for verification. Hang Time @ Kellogg

Are you a Kellogg MS student looking to start the school year hanging out with friends, competing in engineering challenges, playing video games and board games, or even just trying to chill out? No need to continue your search, welcome to Hang Time! Hang Time is available after school Tuesdays, Wednesdays (including early release), and Thursdays till 4:50pm with the option to take the activity bus home at 5pm. Hang Time takes place in the commons of Kellogg MS, and offers a wide range of activities including sports, are, videogames, board games and much more. Hang Time participants will have the option to stay and join one of our many activities, or you have the freedom to join any of the school sponsored clubs. Hang Time is run by City of Shoreline staff and will provide a daily snack. Hang Time participants must be registered to attend and must register each quarter. Want a fun spot to hang out after school? Sign up for Hang Time at Einstein! Hang Time is a free program that offers a planned "Activity of the Day" each day like Trivia, badminton tournament, or painting project as well as a range of other options always available including sports, art, videogames, and board games to choose from. A small snack will be provided each day. Students who participate in Hang Time can also choose to attend clubs run by Einstein MS staff. Hang Time runs immediately after school on Tuesday, Wednesday (including early release time), and Thursday each week. Students must be registered to attend, with registration occurring quarterly. There is a “dropoff appointment time” and a “pick-up window.” In order for our programs to continue to run smoothly, please only use these times when setting up a ride. Do note that Access can do either a “drop-off window” or a “drop-off appointment time.” Please only use the “drop-off appointment time.”

2. If a participant arrives too early, there is a chance that the facility will not be open and the program staff will not have arrived yet. A late fee may be issued to those who scheduled their ride after the times outlined in the brochure.

3. If for some reason a rider has consistent problems with program times, arriving too early or being picked up too late; their parent/guardian/staff will receive a phone call to discuss the situation.

2025 Low-Income Assistance Rebate

The City of Shoreline is expanding its low-income wastewater assistance program to include all lowincome households. Previously, this program was only available to homeowners who were senior citizens or disabled. Under the expanded program, eligible tenants will be able to receive a rebate starting in April 2025, even if your landlord pays the bill on your behalf

Cedar Butte Hike

Head out to North Bend for a short hike up to Cedar Butte with rewarding views of the valley below and mountains in the distance. Hike is 3.2 miles with 925ft elevation gain on well groomed trails. This hike is rated difficult because of a steep section of trail leading up to the butte. The rest of the hike involves moderate uphill and downhill hiking along most of the trail. Transportation and trip leader provided. Bring a sack lunch to along the hike.

Lena Lake Hike

Head across water to the Olympic National Forest for a hearty hike up to Lower Lena Lake. Enjoy the sounds of waterfalls and streams while hiking through towering old growth and second growth forests. We’ve rated this hike very difficult for the longer distance of 7 miles total that we’ll be hiking with 1,300ft. of elevation gain along trails with gentle switchbacks and some uneven surfaces.

Lord Hill Mushroom Hike

Do you love mushrooms and curious to learn where these tasty fungi grow? Join us as we go on a mushroom hunt at Lord Hill Park in East Snohomish County. We’ll hike up to 4 miles of trails and pick mushrooms to identify them (but not take them home). Trails are well groomed with small and large hills. Easy – Pavement or flat trails, suitable for most. Accessible for wheelchairs.

Moderately Easy – Some uneven ground or small hills with elevation gains up to 200ft. May have stairs. (description will note if trip is accessible for wheelchairs)

Moderate – More rugged terrain, elevation gains up to 600ft. Requires climbing and descending hills up to 30 minutes at a time or walking up to 4 miles. Must be steady on feet and have decent level of fitness.

Refund Due to City Cancellation

Classes, camps, programs, trips or workshops/ special events cancelled by the City of Shoreline will result in a 100% refund of the program fee paid.

Cancellation Due to Weather

Refunds will not be issued for reasons of inclement weather, unless it results in the closure of the City facility hosting the event during the time of session or rental.

Class Fee First Day

Program fees may be refunded in full for any reason after the first day of class, as long as the refund is requested prior to the second day of class.

Class Fee Second Day

After the second day of class, but prior to the third, requested refunds will be pro-rated per the registration fee paid and the total number of classes.

Class Fee Third Day

Refunds will not be issued after the third day of class, unless an exception is granted. Requests for an exception to this policy must be submitted in writing prior to the fourth class and must be approved by the PRCS Director. The City has sole discretion to decide whether or not to grant this exception.

One Day/ Workshops/Single Trips

Refunds will be issued if the request is received at least fourteen (14) calendar days before the activity day.

Drop-In Admissions

Refund requests must be made at the registration desk prior to leaving the facility on the day of use. All refund requests are at the discretion of the City.

No in-person facility rentals. Rentals can be made online or over the phone.

No in-person registrations at City Hall or Richmond Highlands Recreation Center. See page 2 for facility closure dates.

Camps

Camp refunds are subject to an administration fee per participant, per camp except transfers, if applicable. A full refund, less the administration fee, will be issued if the request is received at least fourteen (14) calendar days before the first day of camp. No refund will be issued if the request is received less than 14 calendar days before the first day of camp. Transfers (Summer Camps). A participant may request to transfer to another camp with available space if the request is received at least fourteen (14) calendar days before the first day of camp. If transferring from one camp into another, the administration fee will be waived. The transfer must be made at the same time as the withdrawal and for the same participant.

Permit Cancellation

Indoor Facilities: Refunds will be issued if the Facility Indoor Use Permit is canceled at least fourteen (14) days before the day of the event. Any Security Deposit received for this rental will be fully refunded. Outdoor Facility: Refunds will be issued if the Rental Use and Park and Open Space Non-Exclusive Use Permit is canceled at least seven (7) calendar days before the day of the event. Any Security Deposit received for this rental will be fully refunded. Please review Athletic Field and Tennis Court Rental Use Permit Cancellation for exceptions.

Registration Associated with Special Events

All registrations associated with special events are non-refundable.

Wait-list Refunds

For those that are on a class waitlist that attend after the start date, requests for refund shall be treated as if the first day of attendance is the first day of class.

Pro-rated Refunds

Class fee refunds will not be pro-rated when registering after the start date except for those entering from the wait-list.

Refund of Security Deposits

The City will inspect the designated facility/ area in the Rental Use Permit after usage to determine if any damage occurred. If damage occurred, the City will assess the cost to mitigate the damage and retain that amount from the Security Deposit. The Security Deposit may also be retained if all conditions of the permit are not adhered to, or an extra on-site staff is required during the permitted time. Any remainder of the Security Deposit will be refunded. Should no damage occur, all conditions of the permit are met, and extra staff time is not required, the Security Deposit will be fully refunded.

No Pro-Rated Membership Refunds

All memberships are for the specified amount of time from purchase date. Pro-rated refunds are not permitted for unused portion of purchased time.

Exemptions

Requested exemptions from this policy may be submitted in writing to the Recreation Superintendent and require approval by the PRCS Director.

Concession Permits

The City may, at its sole discretion, cancel a permit anytime due to an emergency, severe weather which merits either School District or City facility closures, power outage, or situations that may result in facility damage or personal injury as determined by the PRCS Director. In such instances, the permittee will be entitled to a 100% refund. All other permit refunds must be requested 30 days prior to scheduled use.

Rental Use Permit Cancellation

Athletic Field and Tennis Court Rental Use Permits canceled by the Renter less than seven (7) calendar days, but at least 24 hours prior to the date/time of the rental will be issued a 50% refund of fees or $50, whichever is less. Rental Use Permits canceled 24 hours or less prior to the date/time will not receive a refund. Any Security Deposit received for this rental will be 100% refunded.
