Welcome to the Salisbury Sport newsletter, providing you with an update on sport and recreation activities within the City of Salisbury. The July School Holidays are just around the corner and we encourage you to be active in your local community, meet new people and have lots of fun. Salisbury Runs A fun run or walk once a month for people of all ages and abilities, plus Little Athletics games for kids. Next run: Sunday 14 June, 19 July, 30 August & 27 September Venue: Carisbrooke Park Cost: FREE entry for athletic club members or $5 for nonmembers

Salisbury Talented Athletes Academy (STAA) The STAA is a City of Salisbury initiative designed to provide the opportunity for young, aspiring athletes in Salisbury to develop their game and receive professional coaching in selected sports. The following sports will be having trials during the July school holidays:

Netball The STAA Netball Player Development Program provides the opportunity for young netballers in Salisbury to receive professional coaching from Adelaide Thunderbirds, Kate Shimmin. When: Wednesday 8 July and 15 July Where: The Gardens Recreation Centre Time: 11 and 12 year olds from 10am to 12pm 13 and 14 year olds from 1pm to 3pm Please note: players must attend the first stage to participate in the program. Programs for Developing Athletes SA Athletics Academy Are you ready to be the next athletics champion? Little Athletics and Athletics SA invites all athletes who are between the ages of 11 and 19 to join the brand new SA Athletics Academy! This junior development squad has been developed to provide a targeted preparation program for all young athletes, who are ready to take their athletics to the next level. Basketball The STAA Basketball Player Development Program provides the opportunity for young basketballers in Salisbury to receive professional coaching from Harold McMath - a Level 2 Coach with international experience as a coach and player, as well as former Assistant Coach to the Adelaide 36ers. When: Saturday 18 July Where: Ingle Farm Recreation Centre Time: 2pm - 4pm Ages nine to 14 years Eligibility criteria applies.
