Enhancing Our City As part of its vision for the future, Council is working to enhance the appearance of the city and to provide a range of ways for people to enjoy a healthy, connected lifestyle in the City of Salisbury. “This Council is committed to encouraging and supporting a thriving and connected community,” said Gillian Aldridge, Mayor of Salisbury. “We want residents to have a sense of belonging and ownership in what happens in their city. We want to work closely with people in our community, encourage participatation in local activities, and support the strengthening of community ties.” Council wants to make living in Salisbury a great experience.

New programs will focus on enhancing the appearance of the region, with the refurbishment of buildings, switching on irrigation to Council-owned sports grounds, and the creation of new footpaths and trails. A range of healthy living programs will help residents to live longer and healthier lives, and learning programs will help residents make the most of their talents and opportunities. Council will also be showcasing the region to attract sporting events, and encouraging community involvement in local events and activities. An awards scheme will recognise people going ‘above and beyond’ in their daily lives to benefit others.
