DOT DOT DOT: A New Musical is an exciting new musical based on the Creatrilogy trio of award-winning picture books by New York Times bestselling author Peter H. Reynolds - The Dot, Ish and Sky Color. Adapted by composers Keelay Gipson and Sam Salmond, the musical, like the series, celebrates the power of originality, self-expression, and opening our eyes to look beyond the expected. When Marisol (Sky Color), a
young artist and curator of the Musee de Marisol, decides that her gallery requires more than her own art, her search for emerging talent leads her to Vashti (The Dot), whose dots inspire Ramon (Ish) to become an artist in his own right. The musical follows Marisol’s journey to help her new friends, and her entire community, break free from self-criticism and learn to let their imaginations soar.

Brandon Clarke explores Black artistic expression within the context of the past (and sometimes current) discriminatory practice of redlining within communities of color. Clarke’s artwork wrestles with a range of critical questions about space, design, and architecture. Clarke’s background as an architect compels him to explore these themes more broadly in his artwork.
Artists living and working in Florida are uniquely positioned to observe the effects of climate disruption, as our state is on the front lines of sea level rise, climbing temperatures, catastrophic storms, devastation of coral reefs and disappearing seagrasses. The artwork in this exhibit explores the effects of climate disruption and engages audiences in topics such as endangered species, shrinking habitats, pollution and coastal resiliency. Curated by Jessica Ransom, Director of Artist Services at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County.

Artist Andy Ballentine’s exhibit showcases a collection that intertwines emotions, colors and stories into an immersive experience where love fuels his passion to beauty.
As the cultural facility of a diverse community, the Miramar Cultural Center’s programming is inclusive of art exhibits that seek to provide insight, provoke, educate and entertain guests. From MCC’s Expression Garden, Vanishing View, Windows To Our World murals and ArtScape, MCC’s public art is intentional and interactive. These pieces have allowed nationally acclaimed and local public artists to lend their talents to activating the garden and the green space that envelopes the Town Center property.
Windows To Our World murals utilize the building’s architectural cathedral indentations shaped like windows to open guests to several themes - Hispanic Heritage, Black History, The Environment and Caribbean Heritage. These themes continue work designed for programming of the facility’s Ansin Family Art Gallery. The 2023-24 murals are the creation of artist Carlos Americo. Based in Miami, Carlos Americo is a
multidisciplinary artist that explores today’s image-oriented culture through experiments in mark making. He created a character named CAMNUT from a single line and has developed it as a formal element that is consistently used throughout his work. Carlos states that being a part of “Windows to Our World” murals this year is an invaluable opportunity for him to express our collective narratives through art.
Come and rediscover Alison Sky’s Vanishing View artwork in the MCC Botanical Garden. The piece is made of a water feature with 7 glass panels, an inspiration drawn from nature, the ecosystem and the gorgeous Miramar sky.
“The work is not complete until it is inhabited and enjoyed and experienced and explored by people.” Alison Sky
The Miramar Cultural Center has established the MCC Artscape, a rotational Public Art on-loan project, as part of its annual community programming offerings. This consists of four sculptures from public artists. Designed to invigorate MCC’s campus as a destination where art has added itself to community expression; they reflect how we can imagine the world. It’s vibrancy and curbside appeal offers a transformative identifier for the facility. It remains to be freely accessible and adds to the quality of life benefit that CULTURE brings when living, working and visiting the City of Miramar.
